A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Swish

The sounds of the ocean's waves were very tranquilising, they were quite magical as listening to them woosh can calm even the most enraged of creatures. A dragoness emerged from the sea, her head peeked above the ocean's surface, looking for signs of new objects. After finding nothing above, she then dived down to the sea current she was travelling with a bale of turtles. Despite the fact that the dragoness has tried to eat the turtles several times, they don't seem to mind her.

The last thing she could remember was when she found herself inside an underwater limestone cavern and that was after she woke up before entering the vast blue sea. Anything before when she went to sleep were all forgotten,  and she has zero ideas or what is her name and where she was or where she was going.

Rising back up to the ocean's surface and she saw the yellow banks, something that she hasn't seen before. So she quickly swam to the yellow banks, which turned out to be a coastline but of course, the dragoness does not know that. As she dragged herself across the sun-kissed sand, she was feeling more and more lethargic so she returned to the water, thinking about retreating to the deeper seas. The turtles finally caught up to the Dragoness and they went to the coast to make nests and lay eggs. Being intrigued, the Dragoness kept her position by the coast and watched the turtles do their thing.

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Corvikus Sat Dec 23, 2017 12:16 am

Corvikus swam up, up, reaching towards the light; hues of deep blue lightened as he neared the surface, the sun painting its rays across the water. At last his snout broke above the surface, then his head, then some of his neck. The sea creature emerged from the depths of the sea with a silent grace, the sound of water dripping from his face with a plink-plink-plink sound filling his ears, along with the sounds of the ever-moving sea. His gills found no water to filter oxygen from, and in response his body quickly switched to using his lungs, which expanded as he took in a breath.

He looked around with eyes that were slowly adjusting to the change in lighting, and his lips curved as he admired the beauty of the pale blue sky stretching above him. The smile dropped off his face, though, when Corvikus realised the coast was still quite a distance away. Heaving a sigh, he began to swim, though rather slowly and in a relaxed manner, little ripples moving away from his figure. He'd forgotten how hot the sun was, drying up the dampness on his back. Being accustomed to the coolness of the ocean, the feeling of the lack of moisture startled him.

Finally he saw the coast, a long line of yellow, and a blue figure somewhere to his right. Corvikus emerged onto land, yellow grains below him turning a darker shade as he dripped water all over them. Approaching the dragon, which was observing some turtles laying their eggs, he found that they were considerably larger than he was, and anxiety picked at his nerves. Would height affect their interaction? He hoped not.

"Hello," he said in Universal.

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Senka Sat Jan 13, 2018 6:59 pm

Ruisen swam along the ocean floor, letting his arms dangle so he could brush over the coral and rocks along the bottom. His paw ran over an urchin, causing him to yelp and emit a high-pitched sound. As his neck was craned up from pain, he saw a gigantic dragon swim above him, alongside the nesting sea turtles. He blinked, trying to comprehend the sight. He had never seen a dragon so big. A dragon like that had to have caused commotion or rumours in Lakara, so Ruisen was confused as to why he was only seeing this dragon now.

Another dragon swam towards her with caution, and Ruisen flanked him, curious, but still apprehensive of both. A few moments after the new stranger got onto the shore, Ruisen popped his head out of the water and swam to the shallows, pupils contracting into slits at the white sand. The lindwurm was able to see the dragons clearly now and assess them. They didn't seem threatening, save for the other's size, and with no weapons, so Ruisen decided to make himself known.

"Hey." He held onto a rock slightly jutting out from the water and pushed his upper body onto it to make himself visible. "Turtle's are nice," he spoke in universal.

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Trinyah Mon Jan 15, 2018 5:02 am

Trinyah was flying through the sky, her eyes half closed. She wasn't really paying much attention to where she was going. Rather, just letting the wind carry her along. And honestly, she had to say that was pretty relaxing. Being so small compared to most dragons, and so agile in the air, she wasn't really worried about accidentally hitting anything. The dragoness would swoop and sway, catching herself on the wind as she elegantly moved through the sky.

Only when she began to smell salt did she open her eyes. She must be getting close to the ocean. Trinyah smiled, spotting the blue waters in the distance. Well, she was already here, why not go and take a peak? She though to herself, as she readjusted her flying pattern in order to be able to land by the coast.

Soon, the sandy yellow beaches came into view. But alongside the beach were three other dragons. They all seemed to be aquatic dragons of some form. Cool! Trinyah coolly stuck the landing, her paws skidding a bit against the sand. Then, cheerfully, she pranced over to the others. "Heya!" she cooed in universal, wagging her tail.

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Acco Tue Jan 16, 2018 3:15 pm

The dragoness yawned, revealing her three impressive sets of teeth, she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings as much as she was still recovering from a long sleep. She wasn't even aware of three dragons approaching her and she would have noticed them by now but no, it was all the japper, which she calls it, from the three dragons. She became alert abruptly and began to move closer to each dragon, tilting her head side to side as she observed them.

Once she was done she moved back to her original position and she turned to the sky, letting out a thunderous roar, and looked back at the dragons with a smiling mouth wide open. She then ducked her head and neck under the water and hurled her head out of the water quickly, sending numerous water droplets flying in the air, eventually splashing a dragon. She had done this two more times on different dragons and let out a happy growl after, though one may find it as a threat.

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Corvikus Wed Jan 24, 2018 12:56 am

Corvikus went unnoticed by the large dragon(ness), and wondered if she was particularly absentminded or had a narrow field of vision. Or was he too quiet? He made an effort to slap his wet feet against the floor as he walked, his tail swishing left and right as he approached. The sea dragoness yawned, displaying rows of sharp pearly teeth, and Corvikus's eyes widened. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all.

He didn't stop though, and her reaction was, to say the least... Surprising. She didn't respond verbally, only swept her eyes across them in a scrunitising glare. The roar made him scoot back a good two step, his feet nervously bouncing against the sand. Ready to run at any other hostile movement. But she turned a smile towards them, proceeding to splash water all over them and growl. Corvikus blinked rapidly in confusion, unsure how he should interpret those actions. Was she incapable of verbal communication? Was this her way of saying hello?

A comment about turtles startled him, and he nodded a warm greeting at the newcomer, who appeared to have come out of the ocean as well. A fellow Lakara, perhaps! "Yeah... Love how they swim," Corvikus agreed. The next second, a dragon from the sky skidded to a halt near him, and he blinked, drawing in a startled breath. "Hello to you too!"

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Senka Fri Jan 26, 2018 1:03 pm

Ruisen jumped at the roar, claws scrabbling on the rock as he submerged his torso into the water, ready to flee or help the other aquatic dragon if needed. Maybe this dragon is a threat, he thought. A shadow passed over the water, and he took a quick glance at the sky, squinting his eyes at the sun. The flying dragon seemed too cheerful to be dangerous, so he gave his eyes a rest and looked back down to the water. Good timing, because as soon as his eyes settled to the calming waves, water covered his face. Not unwelcome, but still a surprise.

"Huh?" Ruisen blinked as water droplets slid off his scales. He made another quick look at the now-landed dragon, more focused on the dragoness that was growling. Even though she was growling and roaring, there was no resentment in her eyes. Confused, Ruisen lifted himself onto the rock once more, raising his tail out of the water. He pushed his tail fin against the water, creating a small wave towards the strange dragon. He repeated that action one more time, making a bigger splash than his last attempt. He looked up at the dragoness, gauging her reaction.

He turned towards the wingless aquatic dragon. He hadn't made any threatening moves, so Ruisen placed his temporary trust in him. "Name's Ruisen." He eyed the once-flying dragon, nodding at her. "Hey there."

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Haven Sat Jan 27, 2018 9:59 am

//Jurmala swam near an island, off the edge of the coral reef, to look down meant seeing a drop several hundred thousand feet deep, but of course, being a waterdragon that ment fun! She stood on the edge of the reef, two great whites swimming in the proximity of her. She had a small fear of them, but never for them to eat her. She feared that they might feed in front of her, she didn't like blood very much...
She had spoken with these gigantic creatures before, the largest great white that was closet to her was named Fin, ironic, right? He was 35 feet long, much much bigger than Jurmala would ever get.
"Hello, Fin!" She would gurgle in Shark Language, one thing she was good at.. Speaking animal. The great white swam closer, the rows and rows of teeth showing as he spoke in return. "Hello, Jurmala, what a nice ocean it is today." He then swam on, she had to wait paitently for him to come back. In school back at the castle they were taught that sharks couldn't stop swimming or they'd die! She didn't want that, no! Not at all! She giggled at the thought of carrying out a conversation with these huge beasts, a few moments in between their answers to each other. Fin circled back around, Jurmala smiling ear to ear, "Yes! What an amazing ocean today-" She was cut off by a gigantic roar, sending her barreling into Fin's side, Fin being used to the easily scared dragon, cupped her under his pectoral fin and let her grasp onto him like a dragonet. Fin laughed as they sped through the water, faster than Jurmala could ever go. He spoke, "I heard there are dragons on the surface, maybe you could befriend them?" Jurmala had her eyes closed, the cooler water from Fin's gills sliding across her scales.
"I... Mean I guess... Maybe I could check it out..." She stammered, slowly letting go of the large pectoral fin.
Jurmala swam back to the island, her heart pounding against her chest in fear. The roar was turmendous, and it frightened her very much. She was off shore quite a ways, but she could see the gigantic dragon splash the other smaller dragons. She shivered in the water, screeching in surprise as Fin swam up next to her, nudging her to go closer. Jurmala squeaked, slowly crouching and clinging to a rock. Her scales dried and she became a lighter blue, her eyes wide with fear. The smaller dragons didn't look terrified, but she could see their muscles were tense, as if ready to fling themselves back into the water. Jurmala ducked behind the rock she clung so dearly to as a wave of water smashed against it from the huge dragon. She could see Fin's dorsal fin disapear into the water once again. She was alone...

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Trinyah Tue Feb 06, 2018 5:09 pm

Trinyah blinks in surprise when she notices the other dragon let loose a roar, her own body tensing up a bit as she backed away. She then examined the stranger dragon's movements a bit further. They didn't seem overtly aggressive. No, not at all, in fact. As such, this caused the ice dragon's head to perk up, her eyes twitching, and her eyes glowing brightly as her curiosity, once again, took over. She didn't even seem phased by the stranger's dagger-like teeth.

"Oh, hello!" she said happily, not only to Ruisen, but also Corvikus, Acco, and the newly arrived stranger. She then sat down, a small circle of ice forming around her feet, "What brings all y'all here?" she asked with a cheerful grin, her tail wagging a bit in excitement and anticipation.

A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all) Empty Re: A Dragon's Intrigue (Open to all)

Post by Kyuurei Tue Mar 13, 2018 1:18 pm

Acco suddenly growled in dissatisfaction, ignoring all of the dragons' wariness of her. She was not getting the responses she'd wanted from all of the nearby dragons. So she splashed everyone again, except for Ruisen who splashed her back which was the reaction she'd wanted. Once she was satisfied, she would stop to listen to what the dragons were saying, but alas, she only tilted her confused head in response. She could no longer understand verbal communication, which makes this situation quite complicated.
