One small step for Draken kind (Open)

The grey dragon lie in his cave, alone, full of thoughts and dreams as he moped thoughout the land. Being alone for too long had made him sad most of the time, not having the heart or the guts to actually try to actually introduce himself. But his earge to adventure and explore the land he was born into. He continued to sigh and think and think of what he could possibly do to make things interesting, to make things come back into his head and make him want it to happen again. The best he could come up with, was to just continue adventuring, the lust to wander out and see the area was begging him to go out there.

Draken eventually sercum to these thoughts and peeked his head up, opening his eyes wide and yawning as he lifted his legs and got up. Stretching out his front and back legs to fully wake himself up, the dragon went over to a brown sash laying in the corner of his dark cave, opening a pouch that was attached to it, and pulling out a book. The book was grey, with scratch or talon marks on the cover, it was his journal, a prized and cherish book of his that contained any event Draken did since his parents were killed off. He carefully opened the book and took out a quill that was also in the pouch, the quill allowed him to take his notes before he headed out.

He wrote Here I am, once again tired of moping and wanting some adventure in my life, I want to fix myself and get myself out there, but to be honest, I won't surprised if I write again for this day, probably about how I witnessed another dragon and left quickly due to my fear and shyness, I can't help it, I just get too scared... too afraid. He ended it on that note and closed the journal, putting the journal and Quill back into his pouch as he closed it and then attached the dash to his body, taking a deep breath.

He went up to the edge of the cliff near his cave and stared at the view, shaking a bit with nervous feelings, he already wrote in his journal, he had to continue what he wrote. He spread his wings out wide and jumped off of the cliff, entering a glide which soon turned into full on flight, flapping his wings as he wanted to go to the forest of Shveki as he knew in his head he was not ready to go anywhere else, he thought to himself carefully as he felt the nice breeze of the wind go against his wings, and soon he finally met his destination.

He landed in the forest only to wander, he stared at the trees and grass observing the area, being quite calm at the moment, he walk alone, hoping his exploration would smooth and just right.

Whoosh.. Whoosh..

The sound of slow, steady wing beats were accompanied by the rippling of strong shoulders that gleamed with sweat in the morning light. The day was mild, the sky a brilliant cerulean save for the flecks of salmon and orange outlining the jagged tips of the distant mountains. The peace was disturbed, however, by the approach of a huge creature, with talons like swords and teeth like spears. A flock of birds scattered into flight at her arrival.

Viddera was hungry. She had been for a few hours. She'd decided she wanted a good hunt, to relinquish the luxury of dining and sweat and bleed for her food. A single beat of her wings took her over the tips of the trees, causing the leaves to dance, as if they celebrated her arrival. She'd been out here from since the moon's peak to the wee hours of the morning. She'd caught an occasional bull moose or an elk, but her eyes were peeled, taking in every inch of the trees in search of big game. Her ghostly blue eyes were trained on the canopy, scanning for gaps in the leaves where she could see the ground.

A flash of metallic grey caught her eye, and her head turned as she swooped by. To the dragon below, she was a fleeting shadow. Here one instant, gone the next. But not for long. Curiosity took hold of her and with a soft whoosh, Viddera lowered her left wing and leaned into the slow, drifting turn that took her back towards where she'd spotted the creature.

Flaring her wings, she pulled up and peered through the wide hole in the trees to stare down at what now she could see was a dragon. Splotches of black decorated the stormy grey scales that made up his body. A pair of gleaming black horns curved upwards from a thin skull. A ruby, hanging from a silver chain, sat atop his chest.

She knew, if he wasn't deaf, he could hear the beats of her wings. For now, she just watched, and waited, gauging his reaction to her approach with a careful eye.

(Don't mind at all, sorry for late post, I wanted to see if anyone else was gonna join in before I responded)

Young Draken continued to stare and observe the place around him, but hearing strange sounds from all different directions did make him somewhat paranoid, but he staid strong, starring at tree to tree as he saw the leaves move with the wind, some flying off the tree itself and dancing away in the air. Though he didn't look at these kind of things for too long, he wanted to explore everything and not just focus on what, after all it would take a lot of thinking for him to finally make his way outside and into the real world.

Draken's tracks and paths came to a sudden stop however as one particular sound was heard by him, sounding pretty close by. It sounded like the flapping of wings, but a sound like that coming from wings couldn't possibly be a small or large bird. Draken's eyes widened as when he added everything up, he came to the conclusion on what it could be. Draken stopped and turned his head in every direction, too scared or nervous to possibly say any words.

Draken quickly disappeared completely into nothing, but his own shadow as he quickly left the area for the 5 seconds he only had of his unique vanishing ability. He reappeared behind a tree away from the area completely, the 5 seconds wore out and he was back to normal. The drake could only run so far in 5 seconds, the dragoness probably wouldn't have a problem with tracking down again. He immediately started to shake as just the thought of what could be out terrified him, he started to regret his decision completely as he hoped that whatever was lurking out there would just leave, so he could escape and return home.

(Ahh, I see. No problem!)

The leaves were so dense over the forest floor, that one could not even glimpse an inch of the frozen earth beneath. This somewhat concerned Viddera, as her target of interest could easily slip through the trees and escape. However, if she was anything, it was confident, self assured. She could easily track down this newcomer. Still, she'd rather not prolong the inevitable.

Her long, whip-like tail brushed the thick leaves of the canopy, causing them to rustle and shift. She kept a composed, calm posture, making sure to keep her head held high to give herself a superior aura. As far as she was concerned, she was the boss here.

She observed without a word as the dragon froze, clearly hearing her wingbeats. The grey and black head twisted in all directions, navy oculi scanning the surrounding area for the source of the noise. I'm up here, fool, she thought, an expression of mild disgust contorting her stony mask of indifference. Oh, what an idiot.

The Spion was taken off guard when the young dragon seemed to melt into thin air, vanishing without a trace. Viddera blinked, eyes gleaming with intrigue. Oh, this just got interesting. Never before had she seen an ability like that. Being able to disappear at will? A useful ability, but only if it concealed every aspect, from muffling your steps to obscuring your scent.


However, there was a rather extrusive flaw in the little trick. Viddera glimpsed the dragon's shadow, following his body as he disappeared into the foliage. He's not only stupid, but afraid as well, the huntress thought, scorn overshadowing her curiosity.

Deciding that she could snap this one's neck with one talon anyway, Viddera softened her beats, and thus lowered beneath the canopy, blocking out the sunlight with her huge wings. She landed lightly on the forest floor, feeling the moss beneath her paws as they gently massaged her joints.

Tilting her head, Viddera sniffed the air before she lowered her head, scenting the area he had just been standing in. Her ghostly optics flew to the direction the young dragon had taken off in. He couldn't have gone far, she reasoned as she took a slow, almost teasing step towards the tree.

Draken staid behind the tree, thinking since his ability would need to recharge, if he moved again, she could absolutely find him without a problem. The grey dragon was shaking with fear, why did this have to happen, why couldn't this exploration just gone perfectly smoothly so he wouldn't have to deal with the constant feeling of the dragoness nearby. She was both of his main big things that make him nervous, he was afraid to talk or be with females because he would always become awkward around them and he was deathly afraid of larger dragons. 2 in one.

Draken slowly calmed down a bit as he very slowly peeked around the tree and gasped upon the sight of the dragoness going toward him , she must have to be some kind of hunter or soldier in his mind or he could've just chosen the worst hiding spot in this situation, to his defense. He could never think straight when he started to get terrerified or scared. He brought his head back behind the tree and tried his best to stay calm.

Maybe this Dragoness was nice, maybe this won't be so bad at all, he could potentially make a friend, who knew, but he didn't count on it. Draken was lost in thought, not knowing what to do at all. Stupid, Stupid Draken He thought to himself as it was over for him, he now just had to hope she wouldn't be aggressive towards him.

This male cowered from her like the rabbit from the wolf. Even more amusing, he was still hiding. Viddera wondered how long it would take for him to break and make a run for it. I doubt he'll last more then a few extra seconds now, she decided as she slowly stepped towards where he was hiding. The wind wafted his scent away from her, but she knew he was there. His shadow had betrayed him.

It was as she came within three steps of the tree that the male slowly peered out from behind his hiding place. Eyes the color of the deep sea gazed up at her. Viddera heard a soft gasp emitting from him, and a soft smirk appeared on her features. She didn't plan on killing him, -yet- but it was nice to feel so powerful for once.

Her whip-like tail coiled around her as she came to a stop in front of the tree, inclining her head slightly. "Don't fret, small one," she drawled. If snakes could speak, they'd sound like her. It was true, though. She dwarfed this dragon. He may as well have been a hatchling. "Killing you isn't my priority, at the moment." I wonder how afraid he is, she wondered, and a deep chuckle escaped her at the thought of his expression as he hid behind the tree.

"Why do you hide? Are you afraid?" she taunted him as she came even closer. Now, Draken could feel her presence just behind him.


Viddera wasn't going to lacerate him yet. She just wanted a bit of amusement. She hadn't seen another dragon in almost a day, and the Xoya were boring and brooding. This one.. oh no, this one was innocent. Never seen an ounce of bloodshed in his life, probably, she decided.

As well as finding sadistic humor in terrorizing this dragon to vent her frustrations from a lack of proper eating, (one could call her a bit of a bully) Viddera was.. curious. His ability was unique. She had never seen a dragon able to blend in so easily to their surroundings. She was terribly jealous as well, but for now, she pushed that down, instead seeing if she could force the information of the ability out of him by targeting the place where fear lived in his brain.

Draken staid innocent and afraid as he heard the steps come closer, it was over now, she definitely knew he was there, he began to get prepared for her to attack him as he thought about the situation carefully, though when she spoke, he felt confused and somewhat still scared at the same time. She spoke in a nice and friendly kind of way, something he was hoping for, but the big thing was the  3 words 'At the moment' that she said after not thinking of killing him.

That scared him big time, even the slight maybe or might or possibly next to death would instantly send chills down his spine, but he decided to give it somewhat give it a chance, as the words she spoke were innocent and harmless.. in a way. He felt her presence nearby as well as seeing her large shadow dominate him, she was around 40 feet taller than him, which immediately was a red flag for him.

He peaked behind the tree again and gave her a close look. To him she looked somewhat unique, but in a horror like way. Compared to Draken's cutesy and innocent, body, she looked older and more threatening. Also the fact that she looked older made him a bit less nervous as he was only really nervous near girls his age.. and for a reason, so now the only thing that made him afraid of her was her size and appearance.

He stared at her, seeing her misty blue eyes and took a bit to reply to all of her words, cause he had the odd feeling that this would end terribly. "I.. I am afraid.. I. I'm sorry, it's just larger dragons frighten me." he finally said in a nervous tone "I.. I'm sure you're really nice if I get to know you, I'm Draken.. wh.. whats your name?" He asked, studdering in his words. He was shocked in his head that he was able to get all that out without giving up on the sentence, now he awaited her response, hoping what she said in the beginning was how she spoke to begin with.

After a few moments, the male poked his head around the tree again, royal blue eyes fixing upon her as he looked up at her in terror. Towering over him, Viddera knew she'd be taller then him even laying down, which was both amusing and slightly shocking. He was tiny. Or perhaps that was just her perception of things, being so huge. Viddera's optics shot to his, pupils thinning as they looked into the eyes of her object of interest. An abnormally large lower jaw protruded from his face, causing white teeth to poke out from the folds of skin.

Viddera didn't know whether it was an endearing little trait or an ugly one.

Now that he was facing her, Viddera took in the details of his face. While she wore a mask of indifference and cold, stoic aggression, this one, though afraid, had an innocent complexion, not yet bearing marks of the world's cruelties.

When the young male gained the courage to speak, his vocabulary was interrupted by stammers and stutters. At his words, the huntress raised an eye-ridge, breaking her expression of sadistic amusement, and somehow forming a more.. 'human' one. "I.. I'm sure you're really nice if I get to know you."

She couldn't help it, Viddera snorted, although a twinge of embarrassment made it's way into her current circle of feelings. Oh, what an innocent worm, she thought, peering down at the newt without letting her thoughts shine in her face. "Draken? Hmph." She tilted her head, her horns winking in the sunlight filtering through the thick green leaves above. "Viddera is my name," she chose to give him her name, because it wasn't as if he could do any harm with it. Besides, she still wanted to find out about his little 'trick,' and if giving him her personal information was the ticket to gaining his trust, she'd gladly take it.

Draken continued to breath nervously, as he awaited the dragoness' answer, and there's no way to get her giant size out of his head, he really wished he could grow a bit faster or at least reach his growth spurt as currently he could definitely small compared to most dragons out there.

He couldn't help it though, he was stuck being the adorable little cupcake he was. Once she had spoken, she had given him her name. "Heh.. nice name, so.. what're you doing out here.. all by yourself." he replied, not realizing until seconds later when he realized she could literally ask himself the same question. He chuckles nervously at his own 'mistake' and continued to become more and more brace the more he chatted with her.

Draken got out from behind the tree and sat down in front of her, abnormally long tooth sticking out and all. Now she could probably see his unique tail and how it probably didn't go with his small and innocent body. He admitted though, he wasn't a fighter at all, so in a way his body resembled his personality. He now began to think and one question stuck inside his head. How long will she tolerate me until she is finally done with me? He asked himself as his stuttering could make him embarrass himself, she could not have time for a Drake like him and the 'At the moment still continued to bother him.

The wind that suddenly sliced at her cheek sent a tremble of surprise down Viddera's spine. Her head raised slightly, blinking slowly as she listened to the low whines of the breeze as the canopy shook, as if it were afraid. For a moment, her eyes shot to the treetops, half expecting something to come crashing through the leaves. Nothing.

Returning her gaze to the small male in front of her, Viddera sat back, retaining a queen's posture, with a straight back and hind legs neatly tucked underneath her stomach. Her tail slid across the grass to curl over her inky black talons as her eyes fixed on Draken.

She couldn't help the mixture of disgust and amusement that washed over her at the stranger's stammering. Speak properly, she scolded him silently, and expressed her clearly low opinion of him with a scornful look that would have made men quake in their boots. Her talons twitched, itching to be used, be it on a tree, a boar or on the young male in front of her. She hadn't had writhing flesh in her grasp for a while, and her belly was starting to complain.

Once his question registered, Viddera inclined her head slightly, raising an eye ridge to form an expression that said 'really?' rather clearly. Draken seemed to realise his mistake, a nervous giggle pouring out of his mouth. "Having to nod and smile at the brooding bats that make up the Xoya tribe twenty four seven makes for tedious listening," she replied, tongue curling as the syllables rolled off it. "So, when I become too vexed, I escape to the wilderness. Looking for something to play with," she emphasised the last two words with a malicious glint in her eye. She didn't want Draken to think they were suddenly friends. Besides, having him afraid of her was much preferable to sharing sob stories around a campfire.

As she spoke, Draken emerged from hiding -not that it did much good anyway- and settled down in front of her. He could probably feel her cold breath on his forehead as Viddera craned her neck painfully in order to meet his eyes. For a moment, her eyes scanned his visage and then his frail, skinny body. The ebony black spikes that raced down his back ended in a thick mace tipped with dark spikes. Clearly a nasty weapon, she thought, her eyes shooting back to Draken's face.

"And what of you, Draken? What brings such an.. innocent young adventurer such as yourself all the way out here?" The huntress' eyes began to glow slightly as she briefly extended her wings from her sides, shaking the dew from the tips. It was enough, however, to make her seem much, much larger then she really was. "The forest is unkind to those who are unfamiliar to it."

Draken stared at her, nothing else, he was sweating with nerves as the dragoness was still new to him, he observed her expressions as he hoped her answer wasn’t threatening or against him, thought still to the small Drake’s Eyes, She was fine, the thought of friend still being in his head. Draken had his snout hung low thought to himself. He could definitely tell by her movements and expressions that he was doing something wrong. He felt scared the more he saw it.

He listened to her once she had responded, though she changed a bit in his head for him, the way she spoke and the way she said it, brought the chances of friendship out of the picture. It doesn’t seem like she’s a fan of me. he thought to himself as he gulped, becoming even more nervous and wary of what she could do, though it still seemed things were at least going ok, so he didn’t want to run or make an action that can cause that to change quickly.

As she asked him the question he had asked her, like he thought would happen, she made herself look intimidating to him, with her delicate large wings expanding out, making him even more scared as it made her seem larger and more frightening. ”Well I uh.. I’m an alone dragon, and I always try to persuade myself into coming out and seeing the real world instead of being buddled up in a dark cave by myself, I know the risks, but I just want to... explore.” He replied, surprisingly with less stutters.
