Personality: Vortex is a peculiar and rather eccentric dragon. He finds usually disgusting things fascinating and finds many normal things odd. At first glance, he seems to be a rather calm, relaxed individual with a love of being social and opposed to violent options. He could also easily be mistaken as a scholar, since his nose is frequently buried in a book and he seems to be able to answer just about any question thrown his way. This, however, is only on the outside. Every now and then, someone will push him just a little too far and he will snap, throwing away his passive personality only to be replaced by one who has a genuine loathing for everyone and quite a bit of schadenfreude. This darker side of him is a rare sight, but an ugly one. Other than that, however, he can be a loyal friend and a powerful ally… As long as you stay out of his way…
Hobbies: In his free time, which he has a decent amount of, Vortex likes to read, take up odd jobs from tribes and rogues alike, or just simply wander, having no home to go to therefore never being lost.
Likes: Vortex likes those he can relate to, technical questions, seafood, the blood of his enemies spilled at his claws, vodka mixed with drysap, and nighttime.
Dislikes: He has a general dislike of nosy people, as in those who can’t mind their own business, as well as religion and anti-social individuals.
Fears: Vortex has a hidden fear of failure, and is also afraid of eels. Do not ask why. You will be slapped.

Home: He doesn’t really have a permanent home, seeming to just disappear in some place and reappear in another, making him very difficult to track down.
Parents: Do. Not. Ask.
Siblings: Nope.
Relatives: Nope.
Mate: Forever alone(no).
Offspring: Nope.
History: Very little is actually known about Vortex. The one weird thing about him is ancient texts which are suspected to be between thousands to hundreds of thousands years old, some of which are in dead languages, which depict a dragon identical to him, mask and all, and something about protecting a special place, but no-one knows for certain what that is. There’s no proof these actually relate to him, but it's certainly a mysterious coincidence.

Physical Appearance and Accessories

Height: Seventy two feet.
Length: One hundred thirty-six feet.
Wingspan: Two hundred forty-four feet.
Scale/Fur/Feathers: Midnight black without a single imperfection.
Eyes: A vividly deep shade of purple when calm, and lava-like orange when infuriated.
Accessories: He wears a dark grey mask over his face which he absolutely never takes off. Also, occasionally a satchel when carrying something and a blue scarf when it is cold.
Armor: Not unless absolutely necessary. He finds it restricting.
Horns/Spikes: A single set of dark grey horns protruding from the rear of his skull.

Abilities and Strengths

Abilities:
Cloak: Vortex's cloaking is simple. It warps the light particles around him and renders him virtually invisible. However, he is still corporeal, therefore meaning if someone bumps him while he is cloaked, they would still feel that he was there and the part of him which was touched would be visible for a few seconds. He also still leaves footprints, makes noise, and he still has a shadow. He can hold the cloak for approximately 1 hour (3 posts), and is also capable of disabling it before then. However, when he decloaks it will take double the time he was cloaked to recharge it and be able to cloak again. If he decloaks before that hour is up, he will have to wait the time to recharge even if he was only cloaked for a few minutes.

Samesight: Vortex's samesight works on a simple concept with complex results. If he can currently see someone elses eyes, he may enter an altered state of reality in which he sees everything they see. Upon linking up to the target, we'll call it "ghosting", the target will feel dizzy for about a minute, then Vortex can see everything they see. Now, an ability of this nature does not come without drawbacks. While in this altered state, he has no control over his own body and cannot see from it, making it just sort of stand there awkwardly until he returns to it. After having linked and currently ghosting someone, he does not need to keep direct eye contact in order for it to keep working. However, if the target moves their head so much as five feet in any direction, the link will be broken. Vortex can used this ability once every two days, or about 16 posts.

Soul speaker: The soul speaker ability relies on Vortex's little known ties to the underworld. Essentially, he can pull a spirit of someone who has died out of the realm of the dead temporarily. When he does this, the soul which has been pulled up may speak and hear, but still remains non-corporeal, and may only last in the mortal plane for about 30 minutes, or two posts. Vortex is only capable of doing this once a week, or once per rp(for simplicity's sake). Vortex cannot pull up a soul which has deceased equal to or over 1200 years ago.

Strengths:
-What he lacks in defensive strength he makes up for in agility. It seems odd to have a dragon his size be agile, but years of training changed that. It is very difficult to actually hit him if he suspects an attack is incoming.
-Also, he is a very smooth speaker when it comes to being social.
Weaknesses:
-Mental or psychological magic has double the effect on him.
-As stated before, he has a certain lack in defensive strength, due to a multitude of weaknesses in his scales.
-When in his aggravated state of mind, it is difficult for him to tell friend from foe.
Fighting Style: Vortex typically prefers to avoid combat, and if engaged will likely try and dodge until his opponent becomes tired or gives up.
Magic: Not yet, but he’s sort of half-way through teaching himself a thing or two.
