Focused Dilemma [Topic Ended] - Page 3 Empty Focused Dilemma [Topic Ended]

First topic message reminder :

The Stormcaller's library bustled silently with teachers and their classes, scholars showing lost dragons to their desired novel, and those simply enjoying a story about the past. But for Savan, none of those applied to him, several books were piled around the black figure in an isolated corner of the library, volumes on draconiformes, others, dark tales of past historical events, but mostly, the known elements in the world of Nuira.

Yet on one book atop a low lying table, he slept, snoring just loud enough to catch the ear of a nearby, potentially curious dragon. Spread about his form, the scarf that was always attached to his neck was unrolled neatly, showing a few slabs of well kempt meat wrapped in tempered plant material, while a well protected book in its proof-of-the-elements sheath lay within the center of it.

Collapsed, huh.

A scroll of parchment materialised before her, facing Solar and Sky, and words in black ink appeared on the surface. It read, Yes, I can. Did he exhibit any signs or symptoms before he collapsed?

While waiting for a response, Inisha floated Savan onto a bed, located right next to her desk. It had plain white sheets and a pillow at the head, the blankets folded at the opposite end, but if Savan awoke, he would find the pillow incredibly fluffy and the bed kept pleasantly warm by some magic.

Meanwhile...

Saaavaaaan…….

Saaa- Saa ..    ...                Savan...
           Savan...
Savan…               Savan...
….
Savan  S-... ….            ….
.            ...
..
-avan…

His eyes flickered open, the voices prominently awakening his conscience, but not in the Stormcaller’s Palace, nor the hall he had fallen before the Twins. Instead, before him lay something vaguely familiar…

Where he was, a seemingly floating island, where it was, near more floating islands. Dancing stars lit the endless void beyond, while various creatures floated and drifted without fault, completely alien to Nuira. Slowly, he got to his feet, wandering to the edge of the small islet, below, swirling clouds of radiant, bright energy mixed with the abyssal blackness.

Something quickly blocked his view, forcing him back in surprise as a giant jellyfish-like creature sluggishly rose above him, stopping part way between his island, and another close enough to hop across.

All of this somehow rung a faint, familiar chime in the back of his head...

“Hello?” He called out, unsure of what to expect. But alas, silence was his answer.

The pair both stared at Inisha with worried looks, though Sky was notably more nervous looking. Her wing was held against her side, and her head lowered. Solar, however, looked normal. Neither could really think of anything. Savan really didn’t have any symptoms before passing out, which prompted a sigh from the male of the pair. ”Nothing. He looked a bit tired, but nothing really out of the usual for a studier.”

She dipped her head in acknowledgement, and cast a glance at the male's still form.

I see. Considering his rank, it's likely that he passed out due to exhaustion, but just to be safe, I will observe and care for him until he is awake, in which case I will contact you. For now, I would prefer if Your Majesties could leave so I can work without feeling pressured.

When they left, Inisha would nudge the door shut with a tail, before returning to her patient. His eyes seemed to be moving even under shut lids, hinting at a possibility that he was having a particularly vivid dream. That and his lack of particularly distinct eyebags...

Clearly he hadn't collapsed from what she'd initially thought.

There was nothing she could do besides conducting a thorough check of his body to see if he had any wounds. It wouldn't hurt to heal them, if he had any, even if it wouldn't help his sleeping state.

Meanwhile...

With no other way than up to another closer island, he took off… into a jump. He would land back down, wings empty of purchased air, a face of confusion etched across his face. He shook his head and decided to use the apparent Jellyfish’s top as a surface, landing on it firmly with a slight ‘bloop’ to the impact, the cumbersome creature oblvious of its temporary passenger.

“Fair enough.” Savan mumbled, hopping up one more jellyfish head, before arriving onto a larger island.

-------

Savan’s limp body, aside from the stuttering teal eyes, showed no activity. His marked head had various, small scars that revealed themselves upon closer inspection, one of such being ever so slightly prevalent on the side of his snout. Cold, fresh air rushed into his quiet nostrils, then warmly out without anomaly. Searching his neck, several marred wounds, healing without proper attention would come to her attention as she parted the scarf downwards; they could be healed properly with the likes of her magic.

His chest would rise and fall, a heart beating finely as she pressed an ear to his nightblue, warm chest, subsequently, the scarf would unwind from its gentle embrace of his body, and fall to the ground, a few items silhouetting upwards from the floor, followed by a muffled clink of what would sound to be a muffled crystalline material, emanating a strong magical aura.

Inisha’s search lowered to his stomach, growling on cue as she reached it, as if begging her to feed it. Such is the hunger of a Rogue. Looking past the unmentionables, she traced his long, muscular tail down to its bladed tip, again, several scars appeared within the flame’s radius nearby, and similarly with his toned legs and silver wings, more scars. It was without a doubt that one such as him had been in more thoughts than thought.

Sky was about to say something when Solar quickly responded. ”We can, just keep us posted.” Sky sadly looked back at Savan before the pair left the healer’s home. The dragoness looked over at her brother, seeming worried. ”Will he be ok?”

”I’m sure Inisha’ll figure out what’s going on. Just be patient.”

Savan's body was still in sleep, almost tranquil, in stark contrast to the scars she found all over his body.

Initially, upon the discovery of the first few ones, she hadn't been surprised; life on Nuira rarely went smoothly from start to end, and when others possessed teeth and claws - and some, a temper - fights were inevitable. Yet the sheer number of scars hinted at Savan's origins as a rogue, for the Stormcallers were generally a peaceful tribe; coupled with the marks both fresh and old that were left behind by wounds, stubbornly lingering on his skin even as time passed, Savan clearly hadn't had access to healers, which were found in every tribe.

This further cemented her belief that he had been a rogue, once, but her job wasn't to pry.

Her curiosity was undeniably piqued by the contents of her patient's scarf, but she didn't touch it, only gazed warily at the crystal for a long moment before levitating it to her desk and resting the magically folded scarf beside it. Even though Savan had been carrying it, Inisha didn't like to meddle around or tamper with foreign objects, especially not with one that had such a strong magical aura coming off it.

She passed a paw over each and every one of Savan's wounds, magic dripping off her fingertips to fix whatever had to be fixed, as well as wipe the scars away, as gently as a mother would cradle her child. She hoped the scars weren't particularly significant to her patient, because the ones she could find were gone now - forever. Where she found dirt or dried blood, she cleaned it, and as an afterthought, wiped Savan's face, pulled the blanket over him and fluffed up his pillow.

At last, Inisha was done, and touched his cheek briefly before she stepped back; slightly worn out by the amount of magic she'd had to use, she sat down at her desk, fiddling around with concoctions, but would glance at Savan occasionally.
