Within the Twilight Palace Empty Within the Twilight Palace

Post by Imperia Tue Jan 10, 2017 11:06 pm

Note: Just so you know I wrote "do all three" in the description even though there are four things I suggested doing. This was totally intentional because three sounded better than four. Anyway welcome to the metaphorical common room of the Stormcallers! Feel free to make or join new threads in this section! <3

Imperia yawned lazily, a bright flash penetrating her slumber but not startling her awake. She opened her eyes and looked up at the glass ceiling that was all which protected her from the raging storm outside. The peak of her tower in the Twilight Palace was made mostly of glass, which looked incredible but did make it hard to get to sleep at times because of all the lightning. Still she had other quarters she could go to if she really wanted darkness in which to sleep. There was a lot of room in the Twilight Palace.

Imperia had her main quarters in one of the many towers, but it was not the royal chambers where she was technically meant to live. She preferred to be closer to the rest of the castle, not in the highest tower.
She slithered out of bed and wandered to the wall. When a dragon stood close to the outer walls of the Twilight Palace they would hear the sounds of the rain and wind outside, which Imperia found relaxing. After listening for several moments she walked out to begin her day.

Within the Twilight Palace Empty Re: Within the Twilight Palace

Post by Guest Sat Jan 14, 2017 8:49 pm

There was quite a noise, dragons roaring in frustration, and an even bigger roar of anger. There were suddenly shrieks of terror, words of death and destruction rumbling from the city. A voice rose above them all, a booming, extraordinarily rage filled voice. It seemed as if the city had stopped what they were doing to watch, several guards struggling with an enormous red dragon. A dragon of fire, water still evaporating in loud sizzles from her scales. The guard's wings were up, all eyes wide with terror.
"I TOLD YOU!" The large fire dragon roared, specifically at a dragon nearly her size, one with a straight face, standing guard to the entrance, "I AM A STORMCALLER. YOU CAN NOT HOLD ME OUT IN THE COLD!" The guards faces still were struck by fear. A frown was upon the fire dragon's mouth, deep as a canyon. "Maybe you're new. Just because I am a fire breathing DRAGON DOES NOT MEAN THAT I HAD TO TRUDGE THROUGH THIS FREEZING COLD RAIN TO COME TO MY KINGDOM AND TO STAND OUTSIDE!!!" Fire exploded from her mouth, a large fireball that slammed into the wall of the fortress, shaking it with its power. Her tail whipped around, the guards quickly screaming with fear, for her scales could melt them to the ground. As they scattered, she plowed through the entrance gate, snorting black smoke across the ground. Her footsteps shook the ground, as if the Earth was angry with her. The storm ceased to exist within the walls, seemingly warmer and... A lot dryer. The guards scrambled after her, yelling a complaint and a warning. She whipped around, tail smacking some hay, it bursting into flame. She was angry, her chest puffed out as fire bellowed from within her. You could hear her rage inside of her.
"I am Sonus, preferably called by Deathbringer," She let the last name wring out, a hiss following, "And I am a Diplomat for the Stormcallers." Sonus' voice was deep, deadly, "Question me again and I shall have your heads upon a stake!"

She took a deep breath, black smoke still foaming out of her mouth and into the sky at an alarmingly fast rate, she was going to explode. She took a deep breath, turned around, and kept walking. She had to get to her stone house, before she set the whole city on fire. She sighed, the guards were doing their duty, though... She was a fire dragon in a quite... Stormy and moist environment. She hadn't been inside of the city walls in quite some time, and her cave showed it. Dust lingered on her furniture, her mail holder filled with missions, or someone complaining about her heat. She sighed and sprawled out upon her stone bed, adjusting herself to lay comfortably. The guards were most likely new... But they should know her. She was not one to miss! Her red scales among the darker, or earthy colored scales. Not many fire breathers were Stormcallers.

Within the Twilight Palace Empty Re: Within the Twilight Palace

Post by Imperia Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:06 pm

Imperia descended from the towers of the palace, idly running a wing over the smooth metal that made up the highest towers. After almost a minute of walking down the looping corridors she reached the centre of the Twilight Palace. The centre was made of carven stone, worn by the stormy weather but now inscribed thoroughly with the magical symbols that kept the palace functioning as it should. The centre was a massive hollow chamber, with the symbols on the outside of the chamber while the raw power was safely contained inside.
Imperia walked around the outside, tapping the symbols with her claws, small bursts of magic were needed sometimes to make sure that the symbols didn't fade too much. After spending a minute at work she grew bored of charging the countless runes with her magic. She resumed her wandering around the castle. There were many dragons who would check on the symbols, she had no need to spend a day examining them all. Particularly not if there were more important things for her to attend to, like the shouting she could faintly hear from the main entryway.

Imperia took to the air, gliding briskly down the corridors until she arrived at the large open space.
The main entryway was connected to one of the large ravines that crossed the Stormcaller territory. The ravine provided shelter from the wind, but was still constantly wet, with water trickling down it's walls and a violently rushing river right at it's base.
A dragon had just barged through the gate there, because of course they had. The gate was not really meant to hold a large angry fire dragon back, as the hostile environment was usually more than enough to keep away unwelcome visitors.
Imperia sighed, she did her best to keep tabs on all members of the Stormcaller tribe, and she knew there were at least a few fire dragonesses who this individual could be.
The moment she heard the fire dragoness call herself Sonus Imperia nodded; she'd heard rumours about this dragon.
"I'd better smooth this over." Imperia said to herself.
The silver dragoness flew down to the guards, reassuring them and telling them that the fire dragoness was free to come and go as she pleased. She left them as they were trying to figure out how to replace the gate. Imperia snuffed out the flames in the haystack, leaving smouldering embers. She then followed the path that the fire dragoness had taken and knocked politely on her door.
"Hello?"

Within the Twilight Palace Empty Re: Within the Twilight Palace

Sonus gave a low growl, eyes glowing, pulsing with anger. Claws scrapping deep into the rock she looked around her cave. Nearly on the outskirts of the city, to not bug anyone else with her moods. She cleaned things up, using the little magic she had to pick up a broom and dust off shelves and spiderwebs from the corners and small crevices in the walls. She sighed, this was not a place to call home, but this was a safe place within the stormy unforgiving walls of the storm that raged outside. With her magic she pulled some wood from the far left of the room and placed it in the fireplace. Even though she didn't need to be anymore warm, the cave was cold and damp. She despised that. As the room slowly warmed, she could tell that she wasn't missed, guessing no one really noticed she was gone. This was her fifth time being in this particular cave. Brushing off some ash from her shoulder she stepped into the backyard, overlooking lush green vegetation, the sound of water dripping calmed her.

A knock was heard, Sonus whirling around. Fire rose from her chest, "If you are a guard, you will hear from my wrath!" She said, mainly to herself. She walked back to the door, opening it with a whoosh, hot dry air exploding out. Looking around, she didn't see anyone. Pranksters? Hearing a small scuff from below, she glanced down. The Ruler of the Stormcallers was at her doorstep. She instantly took a step back, bowing as low as she could, "My Queen." She began, "I am sorry I did not notice you. It was foolish of me!"

Within the Twilight Palace Empty Re: Within the Twilight Palace

Post by Caramina Sat Mar 04, 2017 6:37 pm

Caramina had arrived at the palace, appearing calm and composed with not one hair out of place, quite the opposite of the flustered, tired state one would have arrived in if they had flown through the terrible storms of the Tempest Ring. Caramina silently thanked her ability to call up wind shields, otherwise she'd have arrived in the Twilight Palace in the worst state one could think of, which was definitely not what one would want to be in if they were going to meet their Tribe Leader on that day. Loud roars drew her attention, and, walking to the nearest window, from which poured bright sunlight, she peered outside, wrinkling her snout at the unnecessary commotion a large wyvern was making. She heard threats issuing from the wyvern's snarling maw, and she sighed, wondering what happened to the 'peace' that the Ruler of the Stormcaller Tribe, Imperia, encouraged. Something moving at the corner of her vision caught her attention, which turned out to be the slim silver body of Imperia. Curiosity of where her Ruler was going moved her legs, and soon she was out of the castle, taking into the air with a beat of her feathery wings.

One looking at her from below would've thought that she was a ribbon of some sort, for she was so slim, and her body in flight rippled in the way a ribbon would. She followed Imperia, easily keeping pace, but kept behind her, not wishing to startle Imperia with her sudden appearance. Better to announce herself when they were at their destination than now, Caramina reasoned, for her sudden appearance could startle Imperia and make her lose her balance - unlikely, seeing that Imperia was quite a good flyer, but still - or a dozen other horrible things that could happen. So she followed Imperia silently, gliding down when Imperia did, landing silently beside her just in time for the door to open and the wyvern peer out. "Greetings, Your Majesty, and Sonus," Caramina said, using the name that she'd heard bellow out from the wyvern's throat earlier on. She inclined her head towards Sonus, but bowed down lower to Imperia, remaining there for a few seconds before straightening. She was standing on two legs, a stance she'd preferred, and thus bowing down had not been a problem. She gave them her warmest smile in an attempt to appear friendly.

Within the Twilight Palace Empty Re: Within the Twilight Palace

Post by Imperia Sat Mar 11, 2017 2:28 pm

Imperia couldn't resist giggling slightly at the two dragons bowing, she didn't recognise them very well, and they probably didn't know her personally or else they would have not bothered to bow.
Imperia did, secretly, enjoy being bowed to; but after a dragon had done it once she usually told them that she didn't stand with that sort of formality.
"No need to apologise, Sonus, I don't suppose you get many friendly visitors. No need to bow either, although I do appreciate being the tallest for once in my life." She laughed to show she was joking, then she turned to Caramina. The white dragoness was quite familiar; and beautiful too, Imperia couldn't help but think. She had a nice smile.
"And hello! Forgive me dear, but I've misplaced your name. My brain is telling me Cassandra, bit it wouldn't be the first time I've been totally wrong."

Within the Twilight Palace Empty Re: Within the Twilight Palace

Post by Tsidia, the mind player Fri Aug 11, 2017 3:48 am

Tsidia could swear she was hearing whispers in her mind. Quiet swishes of air blowing through her ears, carrying a message. Either that or she was hallucinating from exhaustion. When the feeling left her and the vision turned from black to blurry she collapsed imminently, stopped only by the black scales holding... blood? Harry growled quietly. He would have looked around, but catching Tsidia was a truly tiring experience. Of course during this jump all his strings would be dispelled and the thin layer covering his wings would be consumed. It meant that his injured wings had absolutely nothing to stop them from trying to bleed him out to death. Still, a better option than trying to fly up there. He let Tsidia rest in his lap, humming quietly to wake her back up. He would have tried to find somebody, but with such entrance he figured they wouldn't go unnoticed anyway. He managed to ignore the pain and pretend that everything is fine. Harry was a diplomat after all. He had to make good first impressions.
