Ignacia, the Cursed Dragoness of Thunder and Fire Empty Ignacia, the Cursed Dragoness of Thunder and Fire

Post by Ignacia Tue Oct 17, 2017 5:13 am

Personality and the Basics

Name: Ignacia Dalton.
Gender: Female.
Type: Western Dragon
Species: Terrestrial Western Dragon.
Age: She appears to only be what would be considered a 'young adult' in dragon terms, but her true age is 630
Date of Birth: Day 27 of the Seventh month.
Personality:
Ignacia is a rather curious dragoness, her ears quick to listen and pay attention. She would never turn a dragon aside if they needed her help, or needed someone to listen to them, even at the cost of her own mental state. However, she is also incredibly firm when she needs to be, able to scare away others if they tick her off.

She is quick to help, wanting to make a burden lighter for the others around her and she'd do almost anything to help them out. Almost anything. Sorta. If they're doing something that'd be a pain in the backside, she won't do it. She's more into heavy lifting and hunting, things that actually will help her to learn and develop muscles with.

Ignacia doesn't exactly appreciate other dragons judging her for her appearance. If they do, she'd be more than willing to snarl and scold them, a hair away from smacking them over the back of the head. She isn't one to demand respect, but prefers it when it's given to her, and will return it readily. Rudeness will be retaliated with a face full of claws. Heck, if she even thinks you're insulting her, she's going to smack you in the face.

Ignacia is able to make hard decisions, when push comes to shove, especially when she's put into a bad position. She can mainly thank her brother for this and for all but throwing her into random situations from time to time. And, due to her being the oldest, she'd have to be the one to bail them out of trouble. That required taking swift thinking as well as creating a list of priorities. She once had to sacrifice her own sibling to get the other two out before a cave collapsed in on them. Of course, she doesn't really remember that, and she just knows how to make hard decisions like that, forming a temporary callus around her heart to do so.

Ignacia also isn't exactly trusting, due to blindly trusting her father.

Heh. That was a mistake that she lives every day of her life.

Of course, I won't tell you what this means though.

After all, it's all part of the curse.

Hobbies:
-Studies tactics, figuring out what will and won't work. As such, she has diverse knowledge of such things (mentioned again in strengths).
-Practices her abilities, forcing herself to keep growing in prowess and skill for herself.
-She is also a keen hunter, able to down even some of the more tricky beasts for her tribe to feast upon.
-If she has any spare time, she often lends a hand where she can to aid others- especially other females who may be ignored by the males of the tribe.
Likes:
-Talking, especially about something which is interesting. She can often ramble about nothing, but can go into detailed coversations about things that she does or doesn't know.
-Maelstorms and tempests. Just. All the yes for her.
-Affection and contact, it's just a pity she refuses to be a lesbian and can't talk to males.
-Food! Who doesn't like food?
-Hunting.
-Admittedly, she enjoys intimidating others. It's just something she likes, knowing that they, after experiencing the fear, won't try and backstab her. At all.
Dislikes:
-Males. They just don't get that speaking to her actually isn't the best thing and she tries to avoid talking with them. However she will never be rude and disregard them, that's not in her nature.
-Futility, or doing something even though it really won't change anything at all.
-Young, immature dragons. Either gender, male or female, she still will just turn a paw and clobber them over the head if they start screwing about too much. That being said, she can still tolerate them if they aren't her own.
Fears:
-Remaining in her crystal-like state until the end of time itself, or even dying in that form. She dreads it and just hopes that some idiot out there can break it.
-The loss of her loved ones.
-Actually, for once, being useless and more of a hindrance than a help.

Origin, Culture, and Family

Place of Origin: Verula
Tribe: Xoya
Position: Schützen
Language: Universal and Xoyan, mostly. She enjoys intimidating others with the sound of the Xoyan tongue.
Home: Mountains.
Parents: Azakir (Father), Ibrena (Mother).
Siblings: One is dead. The other two brothers are still alive. Somewhere. She doesn't know where they ran off to.
Relatives: None that are relevant.
Mate: No.
Offspring: No.
History: I would like to reveal this through RP, please! Everything about her I would like to show through using her.

Physical Appearance and Accessories

Height: 74 feet tall.
Length: 180 feet long.
Wingspan: 420 feet.
Scale/Fur/Feathers:
Cursed form - Scales which literally look like they are made from blue and turquoise crystal.
Non cursed form - Crimson scales, which vary in size depending on the location on her. For example, the ones across her back and near her hind quarters are a little larger than on her paws, and almost double the size of the scales that define her facial features.
Eyes: Cursed - Aqua. Natural - an orange in colour.
Accessories: Nope.
Armor: She doesn't wear any armour, at least, not by her own choice.
Horns/Spikes:
Cursed - She has a few horns that crowned her head, a primary set which come from the base of her skull and push outwards. Around them are a handful of other spikes which are jagged in terms of size and they spike down from her head. These, again, are a blue in colour.

Natural - She only has a small horn on the tip of her nose, then a grand pair that are incredibly long and partially twisted, around 1.5 the length of her head. These are a bone-like colour and are covered in small, bent ridges.

Abilities and Strengths

Abilities:
This dragoness has the capability to use two different elements. As her name suggests, this is the ability to use fire and also to use lightning. In the categories below are what she is able to do with both of them.

Wrath of the Storm
Calling lightning down for this girl is somewhat easy. However, don't fret, I haven't started on abilities yet. The lightning that she calls is different, unique to her and her alone as she commands black lightning, and no other can control it aside from herself. This is almost identical to any other lightning, it's just a black in colour to identify it as her own. Plus it's a slower than normal lightning. As she is activating this side of her, or about to use a surprise attack, a keen observer can see the black lightning jumping between her horns before she launches it. It doesn't need to last long for her to use it, she can summon in a few moments and launch in the next, just like any other dragon.

Lightning breath
Emanating from her maw, Ignacia is able to call forth lightning to strike at her foes. Dragons who are almost purely invested in speed, around 90mph+, have the ability to dodge this rather easily. Others who can see the attack coming also can, it's just based on the skill of the individual themselves. Initially, it's starts and stays as a 3ft wide line. It then creates a cone outwards from her near the end of the beam to reach just over half her length wide (100 ft wide) at a distance of 3x the length of herself (540ft from her maw). It begins as a condensed beam for the first 440ft before it starts to fan out to the 100ft. Right at the end of the cone, it's like receiving a painful shock, enough to jolt and make a muscle ache, but no more than that. It won't cause real harm or scars. At the start of the cone where the lightning is still a little stable, it's slightly less than being struck by lightning. However, in the beam... It's... Well, being hit by it is basically being hit by lightning. It's going to burn. And hurt. A lot.

She can use this as regularly as any other dragon can use their breath attack (so long as it doesn't break the code of the weaknesses for lightning). But generally this specific ability is capped at once every post and can be used around 4 times in a combat situation before she needs to recharge it over 2 posts. Don't forget though, metal does conduct electricity and multiple pieces of this will draw away her lightning to strike it.

Overload
Concentrating her lightning over the duration of 2 posts, which can be told by blackened lightning bouncing between her horns, Ignacia releases it all in a highly concentrated beam. This is able to break through armour and melts it through heat generated by the lightning beam, unless it has specific things to reduce lightning damage or capability. Upon contact with hide, it will burn and damage. The beam is narrow, keeping around a 1ft width from her maw, but is able to reach almost 1000ft from her. This is incredibly fast, but it acts like a bullet. Once it's fired, it cannot have its direction changed and it lasts for a few moments, before vanishing again. This has a cooldown of around 4 posts before she can use it again. She can only use this attack, maximum, 3 times per thread. Also nullifies the ability to use her lightning breath for the rest of the post she uses overload, as well as the next post.

Embodiment of Thunder - avaliable after the first 6 posts of combat.
Ignacia literally super charges herself, calling upon the strength of lightning to strike down whatever lays before her. Black lightning encoats her wings, neck, horns and maw in this state, however, any and all attacks will still only come from her maw. This supercharges her attacks, causes her first ability not to go on cooldown and is able to use them twice every post. This form lasts for up to 3 posts.
With this active, she is able to do something that is rather unique. Taking to the sky, Ignacia can choose up to 4 different targets. Upon doing so, with a cry of anguish, she can release Embodiment of Thunder. This nullifies all positive things in the first paragraph and condenses the power of her lightning. Electricity then arcs down from her maw, striking the four places that she chooses. This... This can easily cripple a dragon if it gets his by one of the 4 points, causing the struck limb to actually be partially cooked and significantly burned. They can tell where lightning is about to strike as it begins to glow an inky black a few moments before Ignacia calls down her Embodiment of Thunder. However, to use this aspect of her ability, Ignacia has to actually call down upon the thunder in the first or second post. The third post is too late for her to use it. The points must be over 25ft away from one another, or they will mix and cause one another to, ultimately, be thrown about and somewhat useless as they will not strike their target. However, the points must all be within a 500ft radius of Ignacia. With this, it doesn't matter where you are in relation to distance from Ignacia. If you get hit by this, it's going to hurt. A LOT.
After Embodiment of Thunder has been used, or the time has run out, other lightning based cannot be used for the next 3 posts. This can be used again in 6 posts, with an increasing cooldown of +2 per use.  This increasing cooldown applies to her other Embodiment as well. If she uses Fire, then Thunder, this doesn't mean the next one will be 6 posts, it means that it will be 8 posts. Then 10. Then so on and so forth. It's something that she has to use perfectly and use it well.

Weaknesses for Lightning

All her abilities with lightning come from her own maw. She cannot transfer this to other locations on her body.

It also takes the place of her 'breathe' attack, meaning that her flames will never come from her maw. If her maw is shut in any way (including binding it shut, closed while she's chewing on her prey, etc, etc) she cannot use her lightning abilities.

Her maw must be free moving to call upon it. That means she can talk while using lightning, if she really wants. But it'd more or less end up with her shouting curses really.

Her lightning, like all other lightning, can be earthed. Pillars of rocks and other earthy substances are able to earth it with ease.

Steel and other metals attract her lightning to strike it. A well placed rod can be the bane of her existence, especially if it's within 50ft of the target. This weakness applies to Embodiment of Thunder as well.

Sandstorms and ice based blocks reduce the influence of her lightning by around half. So instead of really burning them, the ice or sand will take the damage, but leave them a bit weakened.

Lightning abilities, including Embodiment of Thunder, cannot distinguish friend from foe, meaning either can be struck if they are at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Embodiment of Thunder is not able to be used at the same time as Embodiment of Fire. Doing so is suicide.

Flames of Vengeance
Ignacia's flames come anywhere from her body, from her wings, to her claws, to her tail. However, each ability is restricted to a specific area that they respond to. The light her flame gives off is enough to light a dark cave, banishing shadows back to where they belong. However, somewhat similar to the lightning, her flames are a slightly off colour compared to the normal oranges and reds. Instead, hers are darker, with streaks of black through them. Again, she is the only one that is able to control her fire.

The Red Sea
Ignacia literally creates a blanket of flames around herself and others within 120ft of herself in a dome like structure with a mighty stroke of her wings, a smirking challenge on her face. Or she can flick her wings over herself and someone else to create the exact same shield- just adding herself into the mix as a layer to protect whoever is beneath her. Something similar to a shield. A very powerful shield. These flames are actively able to block magic and ability based attacks, but if an organic creature were to try and pass through, they will be burned by it. Not incredibly badly, just enough to notice it. However, if they were anything aside from a dragon of sorts, there's a high chance that they wouldn't be able to live and the flames would cook it.

The shield lasts until the start of her next post, and only she is able to pass through it unscathed, thanks to her flames never being able to hurt her. However, this can be both a bane and a blessing as if allies attempt to cross over the shield, they will be burned significantly, as if they were an enemy. She cannot distinguish between friend or foe. This has a cooldown of 2 posts until she can use it again.

Embodiment of Fire - available after the first 6 posts of combat.
Ignacia all but coats her entire form in flames in an instant. For the next 3 posts, anything that touches her is burned, regardless of species and resistances. They are burned. Resistances simply reduce how much they are burned, or the severity of the burn. Those who have an obvious weakness to fire literally catch on fire. Others who have a natural resistance are still burned as if they didn't have a resistance to it. Only strong attacks have the ability to punch through the flames, but it's best to hit her with that of ranged attacks. But even then, the flames are warped to act like her own personal suit of armour. It's toughness is next to that of steel itself, but with none of the weight.

Can you understand why she despises the idea of armour now?

Something else to note, she cannot give this flaming defence to anyone else. It is unique to her and her alone. If she tries to give it to an ally, they will be burned alive for 3 posts, or until she forces the ability to go into cooldown.

After the 3 posts of use are up, she cannot use fire abilities again for 2 posts.

Weaknesses for Flames
Fire is mainly all about defence. Aside from the first ability, she cannot actively use it to attack.

Her flames are only able to really block ranged attacks, including magic. Physical hits can get through, but they'd leave the user a bit burned.

Flames, despite being different to normal, are still flames. An incredibly strong wind, dousing in water, throwing them into sand, these things can easily put out her flames. All of her fire abilities are subject to this, ASIDE FROM Embodiment of Flames.

Embodiment of Fire cannot be used in conjunction with Embodiment of Thunder. Also, Embodiment of Fire is completely defensive, there's nothing about it which can be used as a ranged attack.

Her fire abilities do not distinguish friend from foe. Whoever touches them will be burned.

Strengths:
Despite being so large and having an incredibly low running speed, she is able to turn incredibly tight corners without actually blacking out, where normal dragon would. This also extends to her ability to fly and turn sharply. Speaking of which, she is able to travel at incredible speeds, around 90MPH in a top-speed flight, reaching speeds up to 120MPH in dives.

Ignacia, physically, is gifted. She's stronger than the average dragon and is able to easily retaliate in a fight, holding her ground with still. Normally. Normally with skill.

Ignacia is incredibly clever, someone who will create strategies and plan incredibly well for them to work, striving to make them do so. She's also exceptional at improvising when things go wrong, however, if things do go wrong, then it's... hard for her to break out of the plan she has and wants to follow.

Incredibly potent and powerful abilities make her a significant powerhouse, however, she's also incredible easy to fell.

CURSE STRENGTHS.
Due to the creator of the curse's mental capability, they were able to isolate Ignacia's mind and prevent others from reading it. After all, she knows the cure to the curse and how to free herself of it. But, because of that... She also can never utter a word concerning it.

Although it's not a strength, something to note. She can never die from the curses weakness of talking with males.

Weaknesses:
Although she has incredibly potent abilities, her defence is rather lacklustre. Her hide currently might look like crystal, but it's truly quite fragile- somewhat similar to glass in what it can handle. Sturdy, but not thick enough to really bounce back from taking direct hits from the average dragon.

She refuses to wear armour, aside from when she's specifically told to do so. As such, she is often unarmoured, however, wearing armour while using lightning tends to make it arc back and strike herself. Of course it doesn't hurt her, it just makes the armour rather hot. The heat from the armour can then hurt her, but the armour itself won't damage her.

Despite being quick on her feet and able to improvise, she hates deterring from a plan. She will do her utmost best to stick to it, even if it doesn't end up the best. However, that being said, she knows when to improvise and when to keep going.

Ignacia may be powerful, however, it's really up to her which embodiment that she uses, as she has to choose. She can only use one or the other, never both at once. The cooldowns for these abilities are also incredibly long and have significant drawbacks if she uses them.

Her speed on the ground is rather slow, only able to run at an average of 40MPH, much to her dismay.

Despite her crystal-like appearance, she actually isn't all that resistant to the cold. If anything, she needs to ensure that she doesn't allow herself to become cold, otherwise she can lose the ability to actually use her lightning. Any blizzards, or temperatures close to freezing, she sacrifices to be able to keep using her flames. Her whole body has to be at this temperature, or it doesn't work. If an arm is just frozen, but the rest is fine, then she can still use lightning.

CURSE WEAKNESSES.
Due to the curse, she is not able to have any physical contact with any male. Or, more accurately, if she does, they crack and splinter her crystal hide. Even if it was a light touch, it'd split her hide like glass.

Talking with males also causes her rather nasty headaches which progressively get worse over the duration of the conversation, causing her to be more snappy and short tempered. However, she can fight it off for a prolonged period of time.

If she tries to speak of the curse and how to break it, she instantly falls unconscious. No questions asked. She must fall unconscious- and that can lead to interesting consequences.

If she actually does fall for a male, the curses pains are intensified and if she dares to admit it... Heh. Look out.

To free her from the curse, she ha- *Words have been written, however, also smudged out with the powers of magic. The creator of the curse will not have this secret revealed so easily...*

Fighting Style: Get in there. Beat a target through overwhelming force, then leave them in literal ashes from her flames or lightning. Something similar to a glass canon really...
Magic: Heh nope. No magic here.
