Personality and the Basics


Name: Zeth Shaarive (Formerly Foedus)
Pronunciation: Zeh-th
Gender: Male
Type: Terrestrial western dragon (often mistaken for a drake)
Species: Giant Volcanic dragon, but he does not resemble his species, nor does he even remember.
Age: 1512 years
Date of Birth: February 7th
Personality: Zeth would be best described as stoic, serious, and cold. He almost never smiles and usually does not show any emotion, even if he feels frustrated, happy, or sad. He has big trust issues and basically does not even know how to maintain a positive relationship with someone. He doesn't like to talk about himself for good reasons, and frankly, he doesn't really care about anyone talking about themselves. And though he does feel lonely from time to time, communication with other dragons usually doesn't end well for him. He can very quickly resort to violence when something doesn't go his way, and often lacks basic empathy towards others. Jealousy is also one of his bad traits since his life is not exactly pretty and some of his magic could also use some more knowledge and training.
Despite being a cold, ruthless beast with a taste for dragon flesh, he is not a psychopath or a sociopath. Sometimes there are occasions of him being able to feel empathy, but he just decides to ignore it. When dealing with a friendly dragon, he can act polite, and even though he mainly lacks a sense of humor, some very basic jokes can make him chuckle, revealing a little bit of the remaining soul he has. But those are rare occasions.
Hobbies: Practicing magic or reading about it when he gets the chance. Sometimes he likes to watch other dragons from the distance, often even tracking them just for the fun of getting to know more about them, and then just letting them be. Someone could call it stalking, but not him, he would simply call it observing. He also likes to hang out at places he knows well, usually the savannah.
Likes: Warm places, silence, flowers and succulents, certain type of food....
Dislikes: Cold, rainy weather, authorities, loud and annoying dragons, fruits or veggies, the sea
Fears: Open sea (due to his ability to fly that is time limited), containment (prisons, dungeons..), starvation

Home: He’s all around the place, does not have a place he would come back to. Usually somewhere on Verula, away from the deserts.
Parents: He pushed their names out of his memory.
Siblings: None that he knows of
Relatives: None that he knows of

Other Relationships: None
History: It may be surprising to some, but this unpleasantly looking dragon was not born the way he looks now.  His life began in the savannah of Verula, very close to the deserts, so even as a hatchling, he was very used to warm weather. His parents were not the greatest, as he was an unwanted child, and the only reason they let him hatch was that the mother was not mentally able to crush the egg. She soon regretted her decision to let the small dragon live, and thus the pair named him Foedus, meaning foul or disgusting.
Little Foedus was used to his parents arguing very often, sometimes even resorting to violence. That's why he was not very surprised or scared when his father fatally injured the mother and left both of them stranded in the middle of the savannah plains. It did not take many days for the old female dragon to die of her injuries, and young Foedus, who stayed by her side the whole time, was starving. In an act of desperation, he feasted on his mother's body and discovered the sweet, opioid taste of dragon flesh, that has engraved itself into him for the rest of his life.
Foedus was old enough to hunt on his own, but still too young to venture out into the open world. He soon found out, that normal meat does not satisfy him, and as he grew older and bigger, his sick desire to hunt down his own kind grew too. Soon, he started picking smaller, weak dragons to kill and consume, and the more he treated himself, the more he started hating casual food. Obviously, he couldn't just eat dragons all the time, a kill like that took time, dedication, and precision. And so, he was losing weight. Muscles were still somewhat visible, but also were bones and tendons. His body grew a very ugly appearance. Once tough and bulky, now slender and wrinkly. That was probably one of the reasons why he turned his interests to magic.
Wishing to be stronger, Foedus started learning magic from strong dragons and wyverns. His main interest was in powers, that would alter his body. After some time, he managed to get his claws on some very dark magic, that was able to make him stronger, give him back some of his lost strength and improve his senses. What Foedus did not realize was that it came with a price, and after years under its effect, his body started to change. First, he noticed the spikes, that lined his original ones across the spine. Then his claws became longer, sharper. His snout elongated, lips basically disappeared and more teeth grew in their place, making him look almost demonic. And most importantly, there were now three pairs of eyes carved into his skull. This made communicating with other dragons much harder, and so he started to isolate himself even more than he ever did.
As he continued to commit his heinous dragon hunts, it did not take long for him to accidentally take down the wrong dragon in the wrong place and have a whole tribe on his tail. Long story short, the disfigured cannibal ended up in one of Ki'sha's dungeons, where he was awaiting his judgment. Some of the inmates were very interested in him, due to his weird looks, but as he did not want to talk to them, they started calling him Zeth Shaarive, which was supposedly once a cannibal that the dragons of Verula were after. Seemed like they mistook him for this dragon that probably did not even exist, and due to his hatred towards the name Foedus, he just accepted this new alias as his own. But it was almost certain, that the death penalty was the only option for the six-eyed dragon, so he tried his best to escape, struggling greatly and using all of his learned powers. At some point, the guards had to put him in restraints, which due to his struggling were so tight, they cut into his skin, leaving deep scars on his neck, feet, and tail. When Zeth finally calmed down, they only left restraints on his wings for safety. That is when he decided to make his grand escape with the biggest sacrifice he has ever done in his life. At the cost of his own wings, he freed himself and used the last bits of magic he remembered to smash his way through the dungeon, unintentionally freeing a couple of other inmates in the process.
After this event, he ran away from the deserts, back into the savannah where he was born. He had to treat his wounds quickly, and in desperate hunger, he used what remained of his wings until his back was straight as of a drake.
After months of healing, he researched more magic, until he was able to find something that would give him the power to fly again if he ever needed to. And so he continued to live his life as far away from the desert as possible, limiting his dragon hunts as much as he could to not raise anyone's interests. But even to this day, some dragons may still know about him as the Verula Cannibal.

Scale/Fur/Feathers: Thick scales with black color, fading to red in the direction of his spine. At the red part of his body, there are dark black markings resembling cracks or veins.

Accessories: None
Horns/Spikes/Fins: Two sharp horns/spikes on his head, one on front of his snout, and the other one on his chin. His back is covered with three rows of spikes, going from his head all the way to the tail, which ends in a razor-like shape. One row of spikes is also on the downside of his neck and torso. Each wrist and ankle also has a spike. (All red in color)
Overall Appearance: A drake resembling dragon, very spiky, somewhat skinny with visible ribs. Three pairs of eyes, long jaws with lots of teeth without any lips. Visible scars on his neck, wrists, ankles, tail, and the biggest ones on his back.

Abilities and Strengths


Abilities:

Name: Black Fire Breath
Brief description of what it does: Zeth is able to breathe fire as many dragons can from his mouth, but with certain differences. This fire can stay alive longer in wet or cold conditions (only on flammable surfaces of course), but cannot spread infinitely as the classic one does. Its temperature is seemingly the same as of normal fire, and Zeth himself is immune to this type of fire. Even though, using this fire makes Zeth's throat sore, and makes his voice very raspy and rough. It can also be extinguished like any normal fire, with water, snow, wind, or separating it from oxygen, but it will be slightly harder and will take a longer time than extinguishing your classic flames. Its smoke also smells horrific, like rotting, burnt flesh.
Appearance: Smokey fire of black color. Sometimes it can look like moving shadows or just a big pile of dark smoke when coming out of his mouth, but if it stays on a flammable surface, it very much resembles classic fire, just completely black.
Cooldown time: When this fire leaves Zeth's body, it acts like any other fire, just with better durability in wet or cold conditions. But when it stays on something flammable for a long time, and even in perfect conditions, as if someone would try to keep the fire going, it cannot stay alive forever. After about 5 hours, the flame will grow weak, and at the end of the 7th hour, it will die completely, even if it has plenty of wood and oxygen. Not even Zeth is not sure how it works, since this is the natural ability of his species and he never met anyone like him besides his parents, but it seems like the fire leaves his body with a certain energy, that is slowly running out the longer it stays outside. After breathing out as big amount of these flames as possible, Zeth will not be able to breathe the fire again for at least an hour, but when using smaller or medium fire breaths, he can use the black fire again almost immediately, just not in the biggest amount. He also tries to avoid using it several times in a row, since it makes his throat hurt a lot.
- Range: Depends on the amount. If he breathes out a big pile of black fire, it can only land at about roughly 30 meters (100 feet?), and in a slow manner. But if he breathes out a thinner, smaller amount, it can travel triple as much distance (about 60 meters/300 feet) and also much faster.
- How hard it hits: If a dragon is hit with a huge amount of black fire, it will act like normal fire and create serious burns. It can also easily set furry dragons ablaze, thanks to its durability. Smaller hits can only cause light burns, sometimes not even that, if they hit very tough scales.

Strengths:
Mental:
He is very apathetic towards everything and everyone. Sometimes even himself. When he gets wounded or put in a bad place, he does not care that much and that makes him able to fight on in any situation. His will is pretty strong, thanks to him being very selfish. It would be very difficult to manipulate his mind.
Physical:
-His size is a huge advantage. Even though the lack of wings makes him a little smaller than he would be in his full glory, this makes up for their absence. Even if he is not the strongest, compared to smaller dragons he is still very mighty and dangerous.
-Agility is a good thing to have when you are a dragon bound to the ground for most of the time. He can run very fast if he wants to, jump, leap and dodge with relative ease.
-Great senses are a product of long-term exposure to some dark types of magic. Thanks to his multiple eyes, he can see much better than anyone with only one pair, and his senses of smell and hearing are also pretty strong.
Weaknesses:
Mental:
-His apathetic feel towards others may be good for him, but ignoring wounds and bad situations is not. His phlegmatic mind makes him put himself at risk, sometimes even turning his back on enemies or not treating serious wounds.
Physical:
-His size may be very good, but sometimes it makes him slower than smaller dragons, and though he is very agile, he simply can't compete with someone small and quick. This also makes his body a much bigger target.
-Lack of wings is probably his biggest weakness. Even though he can recreate their shape with magic and fly, it is very much time-limited, and he still lacks that natural feeling of being able to feel wing in their membranes, so his flying is not very good. So he is usually bound to the ground, and when he does use his magical wings, he tends to be more vulnerable, slow, and clumsy.
-Having very strong senses also has its downside, since very loud noises can stun him for a while and bright flashes of light can blind him for minutes. Not to mention if there is a dead rat somewhere in the place he's at, he WILL smell it.
-Being kind of skinny makes his body more vulnerable to hits. His scales may be tough on his body, but his legs, tail, and face are covered in much smaller, thinner scales. It is also very easy for him to break bones.
Fighting Style: He always tries to get to know his enemies better, before he actually engages in a fight. When he wants something, he does not play fair, and thus uses every ambush opportunity he gets. He likes to pick smaller, weaker dragons, so he doesn't have to try that much, but when it would come to a fight with a big, strong dragon, he would try his best to keep that dragon on land. Due to his missing wings, he adapted to life on land very well and can use his surroundings to his advantage. If he has to get in the air with his opponent, he definitely tries to keep his distance and use long-range attacks.
Magic:

Name: Phantom Wings
Brief description of what it does: Magical wings that give Zeth his ability to fly back. They do repel air, but any solid surface that tries to touch them will go right through.
Appearance: When using this magic, big, black wings that look like they are made of shadow or black flame, form on Zeth's back. This is not to be confused with his ability to breathe black fire, these shadowy wings do not radiate heat or act like fire at all. They are simply something like a prosthetic.
Cooldown time: Upon activation, these wings will stay on Zeth's back for roughly an hour max. It also depends if he is tired or full of energy. The more energy he has, the longer he can use them. When he is running out of time, holes appear in its membranes, slowly getting bigger, ripping through the shadowy surface, until the entirety of both wings evaporate.
Range: They can only be used in one place, and that is Zeth's back. Their wingspan is roughly 81 feet.
How hard it hits: Cannot touch anything solid.

Name: Spike canon
Brief description of what it does: Duplicates the sharp spikes on his body and shoots them in the direction they are facing, which is usually from his back. He can also shoot from his tail however, and even though there is only one row of spikes, he can direct their trajectory much better by swinging his tail in the direction of his opponent. (This ability does not count the big blade-like end on his tail.)
Appearance: It seems like he simply shoots out his spikes, but the ones used in the attack are only duplicates, while original ones stay on his body. The process is so fast, it is almost impossible to see, how the spikes actually duplicate, so they may just grow between the original ones and quickly go flying, or they just appear above them like a solid projection.
Cooldown time: Each spike has it's cooldown time, so if Zeth only uses spikes on his tail, he can later use the ones on his back. Cooldown usually takes about two hours.
Range: Up to 50 meters (170 feet?)
How hard it hits: The closer the hit, the deeper they can stab. Due to their extremely sharp points, they can pierce very tough skin or scales, but only from a closer range. From farther away, there is a bigger chance they will just bounce off. The same can not be said about softer skin/scales of opponents.

Name: Re-fragmentation
Brief description of what it does: Attaches broken bones to their original place. It does not immediately heal them, the connection will be fragile, but it does make for example broken limbs useable. He only uses this magic on himself, but could potentially use it on others as well. It is a very painful process.
Appearance: Reddish glow around the fragmented area, can only be visible if it is close to the skin and the light is able to travel through.
Cooldown time: There wasn't really a time Zeth had to use this magic more times in a row, but if he would theoretically break more bones at the same time, he would have to wait at least 10 minutes from using it, to fix another fragment. The 'healing' process usually takes around 1-3 minutes, depending on how severe the injury is.
Range: If he would want to use it on someone else, he would have to touch the affected area.

-Agile? You are saying you are quick and agile, then making it a weakness by saying others can dodge? This feel more like a statement than a weakness
