Personality: Empyrean is maliciously clever, carefully thinking through ever action and outcome before doing anything concrete. He possesses a silver tongue unlike any other, unmatched by his fellow Mirrors, and was, and still is, able to expertly coerce dragons into doing what he wants, with frightening ease. 

He's always the one to look for exportable opportunities. Carefully noting and keeping an eye out for circumstances that could benefit him at the expense of others.

Despite his calculating ways, Empyrean has a short fuse and uncontrollable temper. When he's angry, all caution goes out the window. His hatred is unmatched when things don't go his way, and will do anything to bring down vengeance on those who have wronged him, no matter the means, no matter the outcome.

After his botched awakening, he became...sadistic and suspiciously interested in death.


Even though he is...less than g o o d, Empyrean has a way of protecting those he considers friends. If kindness is given, he will return it thricefold, if hatred is given, he will return it, thricefold.

Drain

Shadowy Escape
When Empyrean is heavily damaged, and/or near death, he becomes a small pile of shadow and attempts to return to his host. In this form he is hard to hit, and is immune to most damage, aside from light based magic, and fire.

Darkvision
Empyrean can see fully in complete darkness, in the form of greyscale vision.

Corrupted Nature
Empyrean doesn’t require air, food, drink, or sleep, yet still needs an energy to sustain his unusual form. He must feast on his hosts, or another unlucky victims fears, taste their memories, drink in their doubts, and feast upon magic around him in order to sustain himself.

Unsettling Presence
Empyrean's presence causes extreme discomfort, and slight fatigue from him passively feeding from those around him, to the point where one might start seeing shadows in the corner of their vision.
Spells may seem slightly weaker in his presence, not enough to affect their effectiveness, but enough to cause them to be not as bright, or take ever so slightly longer to take hold.

Strengths: 

Ancient Intellect
Being a Mirror, Empyrean has deep knowledge of their technology, and he allows Xëyna to use this information to create her steampunk-esc trinkets. He can also pull out solutions to problems or situations out of nowhere, given enough time to think.
His intimate knowledge of the Mirror Tombs (having been partially involved in their creation) make them his favored terrain. He is fully in his element within them, and can easily sneak up on, and track anything within them.



Silver Tongue
Empyreans biggest strength is his quick wit and skill with language. He can lie at a whim, undetectable, and can weave strings of sweet nothings to get dragons onto his side.

Incorporeal
Empyrean himself cannot be harmed by physical means, only by magic. He also is completely invisible because of this to every dragon except Xëyna, with exceptions to those who are extremely sensitive to subtle shifts of magic, or very superstitious. Most signs of his presence are small enough to be brushed aside or missed completely, like a shift in temperature or fatigue, unease, or  minor hallucinations like the faint scent of fresh blood. 
Those who can see invisible creatures through the use of a spell could sense his smoky presence around Xëyna while he is dormant, in the form of small tendrils in her shadow, but could not get a full glimpse of his form unless he is awake and actively manipulating her.

Magic Might

Weaknesses:


Light Sensitivity
In bright or sun light, Empyrean is extremely limited. He cannot emerge from his host, nor can he cast any magic from them. If he is out from the confines of Xëyna's form when the light appears, he will be burned horribly by the light and forced to retreat, unable to cast effectively until the burns heal.

Incorporeal
With or without a host, the only recourse for an angry Empryean to take direct action upon the material world is to use their extremely limited telekinetic abilities to move objects within 30 ft of Xëyna. They can manipulate small weapons and even denser objects like small metallic objects weighing up to 40 lb but cannot physical touch or move any other living beings. The most they would feel is a slight chill.
He is completely reliant on Xëyna to move anything.

Vindictive
Empyrean takes any slight against him or Xëyna very personally, and will urge his host to kill the one who has wronged them (most of the time wronged him). He will take increased risks to try and kill said target, even risking exposing himself to the light.

Mark of Vengeance
Black smog trails around the the vital points of the target, highlighting them to Xëyna.
Empyrean guides Xëyna's attacks against the marked creature. The Mark can be moved to any creature that is within 120ft of Xëyna. The mark remains for one day after getting out of range. During that time, Empyrean, and consequently Xëyna instinctually know roughly where the creature is.


Ethereal Drain


Xëyna's metallic prosthetics are imbued with enigmatic energy. Any creature she strikes has their magical (or physical if they do not possess magic) essence drained, imbuing her with regenerative energy, causing any injuries to heal in a veil of smoke.







Fun character idea, will def need some fine tuning to prevent being to overpowered.
Works in tandem with Xëyna, they are two halves of a whole
