A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa) Empty A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa)

Pyrrhus had been planning this for years, how he could get to the top of the world, the highest point in existence. It had been about two weeks into his journey of getting up the mountain, and he had made it half way. However his clothes kept him warm, he'd had a new challenge to face at such a height. At such an altitude the atmosphere began to thin, making it a struggle to continue his ascent. But he'd heard that it would up here, and tried to come up with a way to fix this.

The reptilian took a mask out of his bag, a specialized one. It was made of leather and had a small sort of tube leading to a larger bag that would manually fill with air, from there he'd pull two straps to compress the atmosphere. Pyrrhus figured about every 5 minutes he'd need to collect more air in order to breathe. (Later to find out it would get him about 3/4 the way up)

He kept walking as his surroundings changed from snow wasteland, to a rocky glacier on the mountain. The wind blew harsh as he continued to press onward, refilling the leather bag every so often. Hopefully he'd find one of the Vuari he'd heard of that lived on the mountain, maybe they would be nice? He couldn't really tell how they would react to seeing... Something like him, with some strange thing on them. Pyrrhus had heard they were relatively peaceful, so if he wasn't mistaken for food... they should be nice the reptilian figured.

A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa) Empty Re: A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa)

Post by Iwaizumi Fri Jan 06, 2017 11:22 pm

Iwaizumi found himself carefully stepping around uneven, crumbling surfaces. One wrong step and he would fall, and he was all too aware of that as he continued his way down the mountain. He had no idea why he was doing this; he could just fly down, which was much easier than this. On impulse he'd decided to walk down the mountain instead of flying; he regretted it now, because either he climbed back up, or he continued down until he found a flat surface that he was sure he wouldn't fall off the moment he spread his wings. Iwaizumi looked up and decided that the latter would be much easier. The strong, cold wind mercilessly attacking him was another reason why he couldn't take the easy way out; if he tried to fly, he would most likely be slammed against the mountain, and probably be impaled on one of the many spiky rocks protruding from it.

He winced at the idea of being impaled and continued making his way down, a small yelp escaping him as his paw slipped, causing his body to fall to the ground and slide down a bit. He desperately scrabbled around for somewhere to latch onto, and his body stopped sliding down when he finally wrapped his tail around a small rock. A sigh of relief escaped his maw in the form of a small white wisp of air. Darn this mountain, he thought irritably as he tried to get into a standing position; currently he was lying flat on his belly, and the small rocks were digging into his tender underbelly. He managed to stand, but did it slowly lest he fall down again and possibly fall off the mountain; Iwaizumi glanced to the empty air next to him and shuddered, quickly returning his attention to in front of him. Suddenly he spotted a small figure moving, and squinting, he tried to determine what exactly it was. It was not a dragon, nor an animal which he was familiar with. If it looked up, it would find Iwaizumi in an awkward position, standing on a surface that resembled a cliff: sloping down deeply, but eventually ending in a sharp point. Iwaizumi had his tail around a rock and one paw dangling from the edge of the cliff, his wings half-spread and one of them pressing into the snow.

He would have continued to watch it had he not loosened his grip around the rock slightly. He hadn't meant to, but he did anyway, and he slid down a bit more, accidentally sweeping some snow down, which landed close to the strange animal. He quickly tightened his grip as he clamped his maw shut, trapping the yelp that had nearly escaped him. But he would not be able to watch it anymore. The snow would definitely attract its attention, and if it looked up, it would easily be able to spot Iwaizumi easily. After all, he was red, and the snow was white. He cursed under his breath and continued watching it, wondering what it would do now.

A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa) Empty Re: A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa)

Pyrrhus had continued walking up the mountain, nothing around him expect rocks and snow. Or so he thought, until he heard a small yelp. The reptilian looked around to see where it had come from, but didn't see anything. 'It must be far away, there must be a dragon somewhere in the distance.' He thought to himself.

As he climbed up snow fell near him. Pyrrhus looked up to see if an avalanche was coming or if the wind was moving a lot of snow, then he saw it. Above him on a ledge stood a read dragon, standing out compared to the snow and rocks that littered the mountain. He took a few steps backwards, then a few more, unsure of what the dragon would end up doing.

He refilled his bag quickly and waited, ready to run knowing that he'd have little escape anyway up here. If the dragon ruined his breathing equipment, he'd die, and it would be near impossible to make it back down running and to sustain enough oxygen in his body up here. Talking would pose a problem for the reptilian, with the mask and low air. He gave the red dragon a timid, hesitant wave as he waited for what would happen next.

A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa) Empty Re: A Bold Attempt (Private Iwa)

Post by Iwaizumi Fri Apr 21, 2017 5:16 am

[Remember: Iwa is now Valeterrene. He was formerly Vuari so he can stand cold temperatures, and knows his way round mountains <3]

Iwaizumi watched the small animal with no small amount of curiosity and perhaps apprehension; his body was tensed, as he waited for some kind of response, like maybe the reptilian striking back with something; or possibly fleeing, but he did nothing of the sort, instead waving at him. Iwaizumi's eye ridges both lifted in surprise, but he waved back. Once again he loosened his hold on the stone, and a filthy curse slipped from his maw as he slid down a bit, his claws scrabbling for something - anything - to latch onto. It dug through the snow and slipped and slid on the slippery rock, and he growled to himself as he slid forward, now right at the edge of the uneven slope he was standing on.

He returned his attention to the animal, studying its features curiously. It was two-legged like a human, but had a wolfish head; it had stiff, tough armour strapped on, and was carrying some kind of weird equipment that Iwaizumi didn't recognise. Iwaizumi tentatively called out, "Hello?" hoping that it would not scare off the animal.
