Personality and the Basics

Name: Zolt “Seuzelia” Atlau
Pronunciation: Zohlt Soo·ez·lee·uh At·lue
Gender: Female
Type: Western Dragon
Species: Regima regius
Age: 56 Years
Date of Birth: June 14th
Personality: On the outside, Zolt can seem very intimidating. Her large size doesn’t help, but coupled with her serious, business-first attitude, Zolt can look cold and mean. She doesn’t like small-talk and would rather get straight to the point when discussing things. She’ll never snap, unless someone really wears her nerves, but will make it clear that any beating around the bush bugs her. When Zolt is in foreign diplomatic situations, or anywhere where her advisors tell her to be nice, she’ll suppress her attitude, smile, and even make small talk. She won’t enjoy it, but if anyone knows about keeping up appearances, it’s Zolt.

Out on the seas, there is no dragon known as Zolt. Instead, she goes by Seuzelia, Admiral of The Mirrored Fang. She’s still hard and straight to the point, but if you can get under her tough exterior, you’ll find out that she cares a lot about the dragons close to her. Her crew is like family to her, partly because some of them are, but all of them feel like children or something similar to her. Even if it may not look like it, she’s much more patient with her crew than any other group of dragons, enduring most things that the younger members try to do. More telling is her overprotectiveness of her crew. Maybe it’s easier to protect a tribe when they’re small, or maybe, even though she knows they’re all capable of protecting themselves, she’s worried about losing any of them.

Regardless, Zolt wants what’s best for the dragons around her, and the best way for her to do something is to lead. She likes control, it gives her stability in knowing what is going to happen because she gets to decide. That want to be in charge has also caused her to be competitive, as if at any moment someone is going to challenge her position. She has to make sure that everyone knows that challenging her would be a mistake, and besides, who doesn’t like winning competitions?

However, no dragon is perfect. From a young age, Zolt has always been a bit on the anxious side. The pressure of one day leading, and then being the youngest dragon to lead the Lakara, did nothing to ease it. She was anxious after leaving the tribe, and more so after having Ryujin, but Zolt subconsciously hides it. Instead, it is projected into her overprotectiveness, her anger when someone does something stupid and dangerous like light the boat on fire or running off to fight a dangerous creature. Encountering her fears doesn't help, but it’s hard when one happens almost every night. Sleep is hard to come by, because if she can get past the darkness of her mind without thinking that the loss of a sense is going to cause a surprise attack, it’s almost a guarantee that a nightmare will come and take it away regardless. Only if she can slip away quickly before her mind can concoct anything, like the times when you get so dead tired the only thing you can do is pass out, then maybe she’ll have a chance at a few hours of rest. But, she has also found that the brightness of the daytime and the noise of dragons about also helps her get some rest.

Neither Zolt nor Seuzelia will admit her faults, letting someone explore her weaknesses, unless they’re someone she really trusts.

Hobbies: Being a Lakara, swimming is one of the best pastimes. Not only does it keep her cool and hydrated, but the weightless, gliding feel of the water past her skin is better than anything the royal castle could give her.

Maybe she was born with it, maybe it’s just her, but Zolt always had a draw towards leading. When she suddenly became Occima, her fear of failing had made leading undesirable, but after some time being by herself in the ocean she found herself in charge of a pirate crew and went back for the Lakara throne. Perhaps life is just too boring without controlling other dragons.

Cooped up in the castle for most of her young life, Zolt never got to see much of the ocean she calls home. Her time away from Reguli has made her enjoy more of what the ocean has to offer. Exploration is the best way to uncover all of its secrets, and it can give her an opportunity to get away from the stressful life she enjoys.

Getting out of the castle is a joy for all ages. As a child, it was a small act of rebellion, now it might as well start wars if anyone knew what she was doing when she got out. But it’s a necessity if she wants to remain in charge of the Lakara tribe and a crew of pirates that every tribe wants gone.

A hobby Seuzelia will never admit to, but is a subconscious past-time, is collecting orphan dragons for her crew. A draw towards her hidden caring side, Seuzelia enjoys being a mother, and would probably go adopt every dragon on the ocean, hatchling or not, if she had the chance.

Likes: Zolt likes to know what is coming. It gives her stability and a chance to think about what to do. Planning allows for every aspect of a situation to be considered, playing it out in your head and figuring out the best plan of action. There is security in knowing, or at least attempting to.

The ocean is her home, and any kind of water is her love. While being on a ship isn’t being in the water for Seuzelia, it’s close enough to allow her a splash anytime she wants. The smell of a storm always excites Zolt, it means water will fall from the sky and turn the land into ocean. If it was up to her, either the whole world would be underwater or there would be a constant cascade of rain splashing from up above.

If there’s one thing Zolt enjoyed about growing up in Moen Reguli, it was how everything seemed to shine inside of the castle. Now, anything that reflects light will always catch Zolt’s attention for a closer inspection. If it’s something interesting, maybe she’ll decide to keep it or give it to someone else.

From the confined walls of the castle to the vastness of the oceans, Zolt has fallen in love with the freedom to do what she wants and the space to do it in. But, while she may enjoy it, some dragoniformes don’t have the luxury to make it their life.

Dislikes: Being away from water for long periods of time can cause Zolt to dry out, which is not only uncomfortable but could eventually harm or even kill Zolt. Being away in heat dries her out faster, making it an even worse combination.

Being blind in her right eye, Zolt does not like anything coming up on her right side. She is also very cautious of losing her remaining sight, and will not let anything near her eyes.

Situations where she has to make quick decisions are the worst place to be. Zolt would rather plan things out, think of all aspects of a plan, where they can fail, what makes them better than another idea, and what the overall outcome of the plan would be so she can optimize and be prepared for what happens. When caught by surprise, she has to rely on instincts instead of brains, which is fine, but there’s no clue on how things will end.

If someone is going to be disloyalty, they better be upfront about it. Seuzelia hates when someone is scheming against her in the background instead of her dealing with them right away. But, what more would you expect from someone who goes against her wishes.

Sleeping at night is amazing, unless you’re Seuzelia. That is the time when the nightmares come out. What of is something you’d have to ask her, if she’d ever admit to it. Just think about why people fear water and the deep, mixed with general fears, magnituded to dragon size, and you might just understand what goes through her brain right on the brink of exhaustion.

Fears: Being the living embodiment of water, it is only natural that she has a fear of fire. It’s foreign, something that never occurs under the blue waves of safety. But that’s not the part that makes her fear, it’s the things it does. It’s hot, and heat on a hot day is already bad news for a dragon that needs to stay moist in order to live. Seeing it from a distance is not a problem for the dragon, but having it close is a problem that needs to be removed.

Once the talk of nighttime stories and children dares, the deep ocean has settled a real fear in Zolt’s heart. There are real dangers there, things that not even the best-trained dragon could defeat. For Zolt, the depth means danger, death, and a feeling of failure. She would rather avoid it at all costs, nothing good comes from the deep.

Losing half of her vision is one thing, but Zolt wouldn’t know what to do if she lost her other eye. It’s already given her an exploitable weakness, no vision would make things even harder. Sight gives her mind something to focus on, and closing her other eye to sleep at night is hard enough as it is. The dark void does nothing to help clear her mind, instead helping it spiral until she can’t sleep any longer. If life was constantly like that, she’d have a hard time thinking of anything else.

Quote: "If you think you’re the strongest dragon around, then you’ve already lost the battle."

Origin, Culture, and Family

Place of Origin: Moen Reguli, In the Lakaran tribe royal hatching room.
Tribe: Lakara
Position: Occima/Admiral of The Mirrored Fang
Language: Native in Aquatic, advanced (mid) in Universal.
Home: Lakara Castle/The Mirrored Fang
Parents: Foccima Alkaline and Foccime Coral
Siblings: Zach - Nortime (deceased)
Relatives: Just other royals, no one important. But also, The Mirrored Fang crew.
Mate: No one steady
Offspring: Ryujin (Had at 34), Kieran (Had at 40)
History: When Zolt turned 23, both of her parents died by the hands of a rogue. Being the oldest of their two offspring, Zolt had to take over the Lakaran throne, becoming the youngest Occimi in their history. After an adjustment period, everything was going well for her. Before her first full year as Occima, Zolt had visited Alturumsa to try and figure out what was causing the disappearance of dragons from the city. A night into her trip there, the city was attacked, killing everyone there but her. When she woke, blood obscuring her vision and giant marks covering the city, she couldn’t handle it.

Zolt fled, spending years out in the seas away from the only place she ever called home. But it gave her time to reset and regather herself. She had two kids of her own, and ended up adopting much more. Her role as Seuzelia, admiral of The Mirrored Fang helped her regain her confidence in herself and her leading ability. Eventually, she could feel the pull of returning to the Lakaras, fulfilling her position as part of the royal line and helping the dragons she grew up with.

But, no matter how different her crew was from the tribe life, she was not going to give up one for the other. Now she splits her time between Occima Zolt of the Lakara Tribe and Admiral Seuzelia of The Mirrored Fang.

Physical Appearance and Accessories

Height: 26 Feet
Length: 53 Feet
Wingspan: 67 Feet
Scale/Fur/Feathers: Her skin is a bluish-gray color, with a hard, dark blue underbelly.
Eyes: Her left eye is bright yellow with a slight glow. Her right, damaged from a fight, has become a dark blue with a gray pupil, a signal that the eye has gone blind.
Accessories: When Zolt is not working, she typically doesn't wear anything. While performing her royal duties, she will typically wear some pearls, either around her horns or as bracelets, the Lakaran Occima crown, and whatever else her advisors encourage her to wear.
When with The Mirrored Fang, Zolt wears a dark red eye patch with the crew's symbol, a dragon head with a cloth wrapped around its eyes and two swords crossing behind it. The eye patch covers her right eye and its scars and is worn by tying it around her left horn and stuck to the right side of her face. Zolt also applies a layer of waterproof ink that covers all of her glowing scales so that she is not recognized as Occima Zolt of the Lakara tribe while she is Seuzelia, Admiral of The Mirrored Fang.
Horns/Spikes: She has two gray horns on the back of her head that angle upwards. There is a dip before it comes to the point.
Overall Appearance: Zolt's skin is a grayish-blue color. Her underbelly consists of hard, royal blue plates. She has sea-green fins throughout her body, one along the back of her neck to halfway on her tail, one under each of her horns, on her jaw, on the back of her legs, and one on the end of her tail. The fin on her tail is foldable, and is kept folded up when she is not using it. The webbing on her wings is the same color, and they are all slightly see through. She also has some scales that light up yellow throughout her body, which is how she talks in Aquatic. When these scales are not lit up, they almost perfectly blend into the rest of her body. Only someone who is close to her would notice the difference. (Images can be found here)

Abilities and Strengths

Abilities: -Electricity: Like an electric eel, she can send an electric shock in the water, reaching anything within 50 feet of her. This can totally stun anything hatchling-size or smaller for a short time (1 post), but will feel like a zap to anything bigger. The closer you are to Zolt the more likely that the electricity will cause burns, and contact with any metal within this radius will guarantee a burn in that area. Once she does this, it takes about 20 minutes (4 posts) to recharge. This does not work outside of the water, unless someone is in direct contact with her body. If they are, they will get burnt wherever they are touching. The burns can only reach 1st degree.

-Venomous Spines: All of the spines on Zolt’s body produce venom. The ones on her back and tail contain a larger amount than the smaller ones around the various parts of her body. When someone pricks them, it takes around half a day for her to regain the full amount of venom in the spine. For an average dragoniform, 1-7 pricks from her smaller spines will only cause a painful stinging. 8-16 will cause paralysis of the area and if someone managed to hit all 22 of her smaller spines, it would cause full body paralysis. If someone gets pricked by her larger back spines, 1-3 will cause stinging while 4-7 will start paralysis in the area. 8-10 pricks will cause full body paralysis.
All effects will wear off 30 minutes from the last poke. Amount of venom needed to cause these effects will also vary by size of the dragoniform, but time will stay relatively the same. Zolt is immune to her own venom.

-Glowing: Zolt can individually control the glowing parts of her body, having none, some, or all of them active and glowing bright yellow at her will. She uses her glow as a way of communication with those who know aquatic, or as a show of dominance. If she’s hunting or sneaking around, she won’t have any glow, but if you’re being chased and she is glowing you’re in trouble. When the area gets too damaged, like the spots by her scars, they turn gray and are unable to glow. Sometimes, her spots can activate on their own, like when she’s lazing around and not caring if they’re active or not. They will also activate if she’s talking in her dream and will briefly come on if she gets startled, like a flash of surprise.

-Absorbent Skin: Unlike Lakarans that breathe with gills, Zolt gets oxygen through her skin. When fully submerged underwater, her lungs collapse to prevent water from getting in them and causing problems. In order for her skin to diffuse oxygen from water, her skin is highly vascularized and relatively thin. Because of this, her skin is more sensitive to harmful substances, easier to cut, and will bleed more when broken.

Strengths: Between her time in the castle and her inherited skill, Zolt is a gifted leader. She knows how to talk to dragoniformes and get them to listen, as well as how best to go about political situations. In her life she has led more than just a tribe. Leading The Mirrored Fang has given her a new perspective for leading, as the requirements between a small crew and a big tribe are vast. Yet, she has managed both with success.

Seuzelia has a sharp mind. While she thinks it works better when she has the time to think, it’s not terrible in quick situations. Her mind is the driver of a lot of her success, and while it has its flaws, there is nothing for her circumstances.

Zolt is a very strong swimmer. She is able to reach up to 80 mph if she tries, but only for short bursts (2 posts max) before having to regain her energy (12 posts). Comfortably, Zolt can swim at 60 mph.

When Seuzelia has her mind set on something, she is relentless. She will do what it takes to get something to happen or to finish a plan. Unless something turns out to be utterly hopeless, she won’t give up until her goal is reached.

Weaknesses:
Being out of contact with water for too long (4 weeks), especially in hot places (1 week), is bad for her skin. When it dries out, it becomes painful to move and harder for her to breathe. It also leaves her more prone to getting heatstroke and dehydration.

Her right eye is blind, meaning that someone approaching from that side can take her by surprise if they’re covert enough.

Zolt can only fly at 35 mph in air, and flight makes her dry out faster. Because of this, she can only fly for short periods of time (6 posts) unless it is rainy or humid.

Zolt is constantly running on empty fumes. Between barely being able to sleep and always having something to do, she is due to crash at any moment if she can’t find some way to get more sleep. Regardless of this, Zolt manages to somehow find a way to continue on as if nothing was wrong.

Seuzelia loves all of her children (aka The Mirrored Fang) more than anything and would give up anything, even her life, if it meant that they stayed safe. They are her weak spot, even if she tries to make it seem as if they’re not.

Fighting Style: Zolt fights best in or near the water. Due to her bind eye, she always tries to keep her enemy on her left side so she can see them and doesn’t get blindsided from their attacks. If she’s fighting alone, she’ll let the enemy get close to her before releasing her electricity, hopefully shocking or burning them, but at least giving them a bit of a surprise before she goes for their neck.

If she’s caught above water she will try her best to find at least a small source of water, since her electricity is useless without water unless there is direct contact with her skin. If unable, she will try to escape or negotiate since she is not as good on land as she is in water. If all of her tactics fail, she will do what she can to fight and survive.
Magic: N/A

Abilities and Strengths

Abilities:

Electricity: Make sure short times are in post limits! Only thing this really applies to that I can see is the "This can totally stun anything hatchling-size or smaller for a minute, but will feel like a zap to anything bigger" part, but make sure to keep this in mind if you add any other short time limits.

Also! For the cooldown times, are you saying that she can only shock something once before having to wait an hour to do so again? It seems a little under powered to me, so you can bump that up a bit if you want! If you want it to stay like that, that's fine as well, but I just wanted to let you know you could- reverse-nerf it? That's- probably not the term I'm looking for, but you can make this a lil more powerful if you'd like jhdsfjbh

Strengths: When you say she can go 80mph for short burst, how long are those bursts? Preferably in post limits if they're under, say, 10 minutes.

Weaknesses: You say being away from water too long is dangerous, but how long is too long? Additionally, how long are the "short periods of time" that she can fly for?

Your app is honestly just eye-candy, I love all the care and details you put into it!! And the subtle gradient on the bullet points is just- mwah- chef's kiss.
