Personality and the Basics

Personality: Neru, from a very young age, has been a wyvern most others would describe primarily as 'quirky', and not simply because of her appearance. She's always very curious, be it about what's going on, who's doing what, and so on. As she grew older, that endless curiosity abated somewhat, though it's still not uncommon to find her asking about what's going on. She's friendly upon first meetings, though how she treats you from that point forward depends on your treatment of her. Those who mistreat her are ones she sees as not worth the effort of kindness. Her loyalty resides purely with her tribe, and little else, especially since her father passed. She's very concerned with her appearance, often seen preening her scales or some other similar behavior. In terms of more intimate, or close relationships, she becomes very touchy, unafraid to lean on the other draconiforme, or lay on them, or just generally be close.

Goals/Motivations:
Her Job: Her work as a leader of the Vuari is important to her, and often a driving force in many of her decisions. She is no longer leader, but still considers the tribe an important aspect of her life, and will do nearly anything to protect it.

Food: Food up in the mountains can be scarce, and as such, anything that leads to food will be a path she'll end up following.

Best Collection: She seeks out new pieces for her collection nearly all the time and holds the idea of the "perfect" collection as a future dream.

Hobbies:
Collecting: Like most wyverns, she collects things, but her idea of a collection isn't chunks of gold and precious metals, but interesting objects. Thus, while it wouldn't be uncommon to find her bringing home a necklace, a twisty-looking stick or a funny shell.

Air Stunts: She's particularly fond of doing things most other dragons would find stupid and recklessly dangerous.

Napping: Considering that when she's awake, Neru is constantly moving, she takes naps often.

Likes:
Fish: Her favorite thing to eat is fish when she can actually get her hands on it.

Exhileration: If it gives her that burst of exhilaration or any excitement at all, she wants to do it. This often includes falling from the sky until she's so close to the ground most would simply hit it. Luckily she's practiced.

Hatchlings: She loves hatchings in nearly every way. To her, they're not only the future, but the cutest things in the tribe as well, and often just as playful as she is.

Dislikes:
Boredom: What's the point in staying around another dragon if they're boring?? She could be doing something much more useful, and thus often leaves creatures or things she finds boring.

Heat: Used to extremely cold environments, she hates anything that's too warm.

Dirt: She prefers to stay clean, and as such, any mud or dirt on her scales is the exact opposite of what she prefers.

Fears:
Being Trapped While she's not claustrophobic (she lives in a tunnel system, after all), situations in which she feels trapped often leave her reacting negatively, even sometimes going so far to fight her way into a location that she's not closed in.

Retraints: Somewhat connected to her fear of being trapped, she flies into a panic when she feels physically restrained, be it by rope or by another draconiforme.

Solitude: Unlike most wyverns, Neru is a very social creature, and thus fears complete social and physical isolation more than most other things.

History: Like most other Vuari, Neru was born in the dark safety of the Dufourspitz cave system. The only child to the remaining pair of Nebula Wyverns within the tribe, Neru was thought by many to be the last pure wyvern of her kind. Her father raised her as a Mestra, despite the size of her family, with the expectancy that one day she would become the Mestra of a family of her own creation. Her true rank, however, was a Narina from the age of 20 and on. She had always shown little interest the activities of an Emara or a Tsunrok and thus continued down the same path her father chose. Much of her training was dedicated towards her fighting and hunting skills, as taught by her mentor, and her diplomacy, as taught by her father. At the age of 35, Neru became an Onari, and from then on became a sort of assistant to her father, completing tasks he needed urgently to be done for the good of the tribe. She saw it as a good life, with little need for change. Winters were hard, but they survived.

It wasn't until the age of 334 that things changed. Nebula, during a hunting trip down to the base of the mountain, lost his S'thane. It was well known among the tribe what happened to those who lost their S'thane without having naturally acclimated to the surrounding area. Descending too fast, Nebula brought down too much pressure on his lungs, halting his breathing to the point that he fell from the sky. Left with a broken leg and a broken wing, he was dead before the tribe managed to reach him.

For many days after, Neru was devastated. She saw little need to eat or sleep for herself and instead threw herself into her duties more than usual, using her work as an excuse to ignore the pain. It wasn't until she was chosen as the next Chief that she was broken from her trance. As all would, Neru went through a stage of grieving, and after a few years came to terms. Even despite the time, she took well to her new position, having been raised around it since she'd just hatched. Since then, she'd managed well, leading the Vuari to the best of her abilities.

At the age of 495, Neru found herself pushed away from her tribe. She'd been out hunting, later at night than most Vuari would, and was attacked by a rogue, a leftover companion of Zalamoro, who'd wanted her dethroned. She and Fate, who came upon hearing the noise, fought off the rogue, losing Neru's S'thane in the process.

Neru handed her leadership over to Fate at that point, wishing to go after her S'thane. Being the only heirloom left of her family's, she was unwilling to let it fall into another's hands. Landing on a nearby mountain point she made her way down. It was several days before she reached the bottom, only to find that her S'thane had been taken.

From there she spent many months trying to track it down, finally finding word of it in a black market compound in southern Layrian. She snuck inside, stealing her S'thane and sneaking free. However, she was noticed and found herself attacked. In the ensuing fight, she escaped, though she broke her wing in an impact with a tree during her flight.

In an attempt to keep safe until she was able to fly again, Neru holed up in a nearby cave, using what little magic she knew to clean the wound. From there she stayed in the cave, living off of nearby animals and cave creatures until her wing was fully healed. From there she exited the cave and began her way back to the Vuari, S'thane firmly settled upon her skull.

Physical Appearance and Accessories

Height: 16ft (~4.9m)

Weight: 564lbs (~255.8kg)

Wingspan: 34ft (~10.4m)

Scale/Fur/Feathers: Neru's scales are minuscule, folding over each other nearly seamlessly, almost to the point where it seems like she has none. The good most of them are black, with a light blue clouded pattern ranging over them. Even atop that pattern is a scattering of white dots, similar to stars. It all comes together to give her the appearance of a small blue nebula against a night sky.

Eyes: Neru's eyes are a shade of medium blue, with pupils that tend to dilate with her mood.

Accessories: Neru, just like most other Vuari, is in possession of a S'thane, a magical object that allows her to descend the mountains more quickly than she'd be able to if she were simply to walk down bit by bit. Her S'thane is a sort of helmet, appearing to be made of a thin golden metal that adheres rather snugly to her scales. The center of the forehead piece is inscribed with a blue star, while the edges are inscribed with the same. The spell surrounding this piece interacts with her nose, which it covers, helping to alter the air that reaches her lungs as well as support her body in the quick change in altitude and oxygen content.

Armor: Neru's armor isn't something she often wears. She finds it cumbersome, and heavy but will deal with it for the sake of battle. Much of her armor is black, covering her spine from the back of her head to the base of her tail. Other plates cover her chest and stomach, while more frame her legs, going so far as to cover her claws, adding sharpened tips to the already sharp points of her claws. The helmet is thinner than the rest, given that it is made to be worn in addition to her Sthane, and holds a hole in the top for the star on the forehead piece of the Sthane.

Horns/Spikes: No spikes, and the closest thing she has to horns are the fin-like protrusions on each side of her skull.

Overall Appearance: Neru is a small creature, with a body type typical of a wyvern, that being two feet and two wings where a dragon's arms might be. She is blue, white, and black in color, with scales linked so tightly together than running one's knuckles over them would reveal that they're almost soft in texture. Even so, underneath them is a layer of darker insulation fibers, similar to those on her tail but black in color. Her wings are extremely large compared to her body size, a trait acquired due to her breed's affiliation with flying nearly all night long, and at times the day as well. These wings also have two sharp claws on the joint, to help her grip objects when she lands. Her tail is long and whiplike, often used to help her balance when perched upon trees or other thin objects. The end of it is covered in a tuft of long, thin fibers similar to fur, most of which are the same blue color as the clouded patches of her scales. Her head supports two horns that extend out and back, resting close to her neck when she holds her head parallel to the ground. She has no spikes or sharp points on her back or body, other than her head and her feet, which each sport three black, razor-sharp talons. These talons are much like a cat's in that they can retract, generally staying in her feet until she needs them.

Abilities and Strengths
Abilities:
Plasma Blast: Neru's first ability is one of her more offensive ones, that being her breath attack. It's composed exactly of what you might find inside of a star, and often explodes after a few seconds of contact with oxygen. These form as small pockets of heat inside her stomach, which she regurgitates. As they exit her throat, the heat of both the inside and the outside burns through the protective layer surrounding it, and causes it to explode once it becomes too thin, much like a balloon when filled with too much air. Her body can only make eight of them at a time, and they generally take about an hour to form.

Dangerous Saliva: Neru's saliva is flammable and poisonous to all but her own kind, namely Nebula Wyverns. The poison is secreted from a sac on the underside of her throat and is the only reason her saliva is flammable. It comes with the severe weakness, however, of being able to catch fire if flame somehow touches her mouth while it is open. Her mouth is generally more flame resistant than a humans', but not fire-proof in the slightest. She can easily get third-degree burns if a good hit to her mouth is made, and she can't access water to put the fire out. As such, she rarely uses this outside of hunting and safe situations. The poison in her saliva holds little function other than it's flammability. If she manages to lick an open wound, the poison can cause damage to the area around the wound, as well as the wound itself, but it would take ingestion of a large quantity of it for the poison to have any fatal effects.

Strengths:
Large Wings: Her wings, proportionally larger to her body than most Wyverns', are made for long hours of high-air flight.

Flight Speed: Given that her body is streamlined, she is able to slip through the air more quickly than those dragons with spikes and spines that cause air resistance. Even the fins on her head are meant for flight, moving around with her head to keep her whole body curving quickly and efficiently. Her top speed is 120, though she can dive at 135.

Magic: She's rather proficient in magic, though the most of it is anchored towards only a few abilities.

Cold Environments: Having lived in a cold environment her entire life, Neru is practically impervious to freezing temperatures.

Oxygen Needs: Neru needs less oxygen intake than most dragons, an evolution her breed came across from years of living and flying in the high atmosphere, where oxygen is thin.

Weaknesses:
Scales: Built for camouflage and protection against the cold of the high atmosphere, her scales aren't built for battle and are rather easy to penetrate.

Shot Limit: Unlike most dragons, Neru has a shot limit when it comes to her breath attack, leaving her with a need to have more care in battle.

Daylight: Her camouflage ability is harder to use in the daytime, which can cause trouble if she tires out too quickly on occasions where she needs to be unseen, such as when she's scouting.

Flammable Mouth: If she has the misfortune of touching fire to any part of the inside of her mouth, the entire thing could catch fire, causing huge injury.

Wyvern Body: Given that she has only two legs, she's weak when it comes to battles on the ground, as she is neither quick nor nimble there.

S'thane: Below the high atmosphere, she has a dependency on her S'thane for survival, without which she has severe trouble breathing.

Fighting Style:
When hunting, Neru likes to lie in wait, invisible and still. When her prey comes within her line of vision, she shoots it with a plasma blast, or, on rare hunting trips, jumps onto and breaks its neck. On occasion, she may leave a small piece of prey out, covered in her saliva, in an attempt to kill any larger creature that might attempt to steal and eat it.

In battle, she prefers to use her invisibility as a defense and her breath attack as an offense. Many of her attacks stay in the long-range spectrum if the attacker is aware of her, her tactic erring towards a shoot-and-dodge type of maneuver. If they are unaware, she is more likely to try and get close, either blasting them in the face or slitting their throat. If she is forced into close-range battle, she may finally use her saliva, often licking the attacker and shooting the spot to cause more damage. However, she prefers to stay airborne in her battles at all times.

Magic:
Invisibility: Neru has the ability to blend completely into her surroundings. This requires energy and is often easier for her to maintain at night than during the day. This ability depends purely on her scales, which blend into the background similar to a chameleon but much more detailed. Colors closer to the colors on her scales are easier for her to adapt to, which makes hiding in places like the ocean easier for her than hiding in, say, a tree. Because her scales are bent towards this ability, they are softer and smaller than the scales of many other dragons, similar to chain mail, but without the holes. This is based mostly on time of day and the observer. Any observer, no matter where they are, sees nothing when looking at her during the night or most times of the day. When she is in direct sunlight, say during midday, you can see a bare shadow. Its matter of appropriation depending on who's looking is what makes this a magic, rather than a simple ability.

What does your saliva do in terms of poison?

Strengths:
How fast can she fly?

Magic: Invisibility
Is this 100% invisible? Can you move while invisible, or will it be harder to move and maintain color? Lastly, if she were to go invisible in a field, and two dragons were looking at her at different angles, like on 45 degrees from her left shoulder, and another 45 degrees from her left haunch, would he rested scales have issues matching her background as they each would see the same scale, but require different camoflauge? Basically, an she fool two dragons at once if hey are at different angles. If I don't make sense on this, I can try to explain it better.

For the saliva:

cool cool.

Just the movement thing with invisibility. I can understand night flying and invisible, as you are practically invisible without powers, so a tiny ripple wouldn't be noticed. However, during the day, would her outline distort as she moved?

In a way, yes. If it helps, think of the way the invisibility cloak in the Harry Potter movies wiggled a bit before it completely took to the background. That's what happens during full sunlight for her.
