Notebook (Open) Empty Notebook (Open)

The Xoya City was beginning to come alive. Polizei dragons flying off on morning patrols, early bird citizens exiting their homes to open their shops and stoke their forges' fires. A soft breeze blew through the streets, consistent and steady. The sun rose behind the palace where the king resided, framing the building against a background of golden white light, casting an orange glow across the city below. A flock of birds gathered in the distance. Distant flapping bounced off the walls.

Overlooking the western portion of the maze of buildings was a tall, abandoned structure, once a small lookout tower. On top of it, a silhouette was perched, tail draping down like a long vine, a deep ebony against the blues and oranges of the heavens. Her head was dipped, buried in the book she held in one hand. In her opposite talons she held a pencil, sharpened to a fine tip. Her pale eyes were focused on the lines she was sketching, oblivious to the world. At peace. Viddera.

The basic shape of a bird was starting to show up on the page, beak held high in the air as it stood on the ground. Her wrist flicked and her hand moved back and forth, and the last of the tail feathers draped across the page. A cardinal. Drawing in the remaining details, the markings and the crown the species boasted, Viddera opened her satchel and placed the pencil inside. Taking a deep breath, she raised her hand and extended her talons.

Moving as if it were alive, the cardinal opened its wings. Viddera's brow creased slightly as she made a few vague motions in the air. Leaping in to the air, the cardinal flew around the two open pages, flapping its wings frantically, before levelling out into a steady glide. Finally, it landed back on the 'ground' and resumed its old position. A ghost of a smile appeared on the dragoness' face.

WHOOSH! A dragon zoomed by, so close she felt the tip of his tail brush her snout. The wind sent here off balance. Viddera leaned back, extending her wings to keep herself steady as she let out an indignant squawk of surprise. The notebook fell out of her talons, taken by the wind, and fell. "NO!" Viddera exclaimed, diving off the roof after it. The wind sliced under her wings and tried to send her off course, but sheer determination kept her going. Snatching the book out of the air, she opened her wings to slow her descent and hit the ground on all fours.

Shooting a glare after the disappearing dragon, Viddera sighed in relief and looked at her notebook. No… she thought, eyes widening. "Oh no… no!" she said softly, gazing at it in horror. She'd grabbed it in such a way her talons had torn the front cover and straight through the middle of the binding. As she opened it, pages filled with notes and drawings scattered into the air. Hissing, the black dragoness leaped up to snatch a few out of the air and, stuffing the damaged notebook into her satchel, ran after the rest, which were covered in sketches of different animals.

Faelurn didn't like the Xoyan city. It was all too crowded for him, in his opinion. He much preferred to live and do his job on the outskirts. But something had compelled him to visit the city this one time. He maneuvered through the busy streets, his wings tucked tightly to his sides. Maybe it was the fact his superior had ordered him to a city shift. Well, yeah, that was obviously the reason. But... who knows. Faelurn just felt claustrophobic in this kind of place. After all, it was so hard to fly away if danger were to strike out of nowhere.

And speaking of out of nowhere. As Faelurn was walking, he suddenly felt something smack into his face. At first, he let out a startled yelp, backing up, and shaking his head. That was, until he realized what had smacked him was nothing more than a piece of paper.

Letting out a soft grunt, his cheeks slightly red, hoping no one had seen his little.... 'performance', Faelurn removed the paper from his face, examining it. It seemed to be a drawing of an animal. How curious. Faelurn blinked at the picture, unaware of the dragoness who was frantically searching for the papers that had been blown away.

He did, however, notice the black dragoness flying around, not that he knew the paper he was holding belonged to her. She seemed panicked. He wondered why.

Notebook (Open) Empty Re: Notebook (Open)

[Only admins are allowed to see this link] I am so sorry I didn't realise someone had replied to this!)

Pages drifted through the air like autumn leaves, twisting and winding in a manner almost akin to feathers. Free as birds. They rustled as the wind sliced under them and carried them higher into the air.

Pushing off the ground, the RedWing snatched one out of the air and held it possessively between her jaws. Picking it out of her mouth, she examined it. Undamaged. The fox that sat daintily in the middle of the page gazed back at her with undamaged black eyes. Stuffing the sketch into her notebook, she grabbed another sheet, this one a chapter of one of her stories. Moving like a black bullet, she started snatching her drawings and chapters out of the air, but a few more were drifting away.

She spread her scarlet wings and took off into the air, grabbing a couple more. Gliding in a wide circle around the area, Viddera scanned the ground for flickers of white. Her head turned frantically from side to side, searching for the pages of her notebook.

Something black stood on the path. Against the shadows of the buildings scattered about the place, he was quite difficult to see, but he glimmered like a gemstone compared to the plain shadows. He was holding something... a page! She'd know her notebook's paper anywhere! Tilting her wings forward, Viddera glided swiftly down to earth, praying it wasn't a part of her many romance stories. The earth trembled slightly as she touched down on the cobblestone path.

The female tried to rearrange her expression so she appeared calm and collected. Standing straight, she addressed him in a clear, sharp voice. "That's mine. Give it back," she held out a paw, a hostile glint in her silvery eyes.
