Valentines Event: Gathering (Open via Applications)

The Halls of the Xoyan Palace had been decorated for the festivity. It was really a bother for Oculus, having to help set up and make arrangements for all sorts of dragons to enter. There were tables laid out with red cloth covering them, a candle between two seats with individual chandeliers over each table. The tables were spaced around a fountain, with a central elongated table holding a variety of sweets and drinks, and with fresh meat and fish laying on platters. Such a pain really. Oculus stood off to the side, near the entrance where he would greet each guest that arrived. He would inform them that there are food and drinks drinks available, and to go ahead and enjoy the scenery and also to grab a platter with gems on the side. There were many colours to choose from, being green, blue, red, orange, purple, yellow, pink, brown, white, gray, cyan, lime green, magenta and black. The black, however, was reserved for Haven, so no guest was permitted to take that platter. Once each guest had their colour, Oculus would be able to announce the activity, and be free from this bizarre gathering.

So, feel free to post however you will, and to MAKE SURE TO GRAB A COLOUR!!!! Once a colour has been chosen, you may not pick that colour and will have to change/choose another one.

Soba had been late, he was a fragile soul and did not want to bother anyone, he came in through the entrance, seeming even more paranoid. He looked at the decorations in awe and sat down in one of the empty tables, preferring to be alone for the time being. He whispered to himself "t-this'll be fun! I'll enjoy my time here...I hope." he stopped his vigorus shaking and calmed himself, he looked around at the other dragons barely able to recognize anyone, he tapped his paws in a quiet manner on the table, he wanted to believe this was going to be great but he was simply too paranoid to admit it to himself. he glanced around more and more waiting for something to happen but then eventually stopped and sat there silently.

A small crowd had begun to gather around the twin-headed dragon. Viddera observed out of the corner of her eye as they were mobbed by curious reptiles. She was surprised, impressed even, that they weren't lashing out or snapping at their new fan club. She knew that if she had been in their position, she'd have taken the snout off somebody by now. She despised being in the spotlight. Perhaps they enjoy the attention, a voice inside her head reasoned.

The white-headed male of the pair turned his head to look at her, clearly wondering as to why she was staring. Viddera gazed right back until she adverted her eyes. She looked down at her fish and heaved a silent sigh. Her tail curled around the leg of the chair as she bit into her food. It tasted less salty than she would have liked, but it would have to do.

Then, a huge dragon, with scales as black as the coals of a dying fire, glided into the room. Viddera stiffened, taken aback by the aura of power he gave off. He radiated confidence and self assurance. Something about him... unnerved her. She wasn't sure what it was. Perhaps it was the eyes, constantly drifting between molten gold and moon-like silver. They gave off the impression that he held many secrets. She didn't like that, even though she was a secretive reptile herself.

Despite her apprehension of the new arrival, the RedWing kept her expression carefully calm, not letting any emotion slip through her body language.

That was when she felt a pair of eyes on her. Twin beams boring into her soul. Viddera turned her head and her eyes settled on a beautiful blue dragon. For a moment, she thought they were male, the thick head and muscular body giving off a masculine impression. However, as her vision focused, she noticed that the snout narrowed down into a delicate point. Antlers sprouted from the dragoness' head, a puzzle of blues, blacks and stormy greys. She too held herself like she were a high ranker, but not in an almost arrogant manner like Rihzome did. She was self assured, but not egotistical.

The RedWing met her gaze and gave her a slight nod of acknowledgement. Something... drew her, to this woman. Was it her aura? her eyes? She wasn't sure who she was. Probably a high ranker from the Valterrene, if her species and coloring gave away anything. She opened her mouth to call her over when she remembered; her fish.

She lowered her head to stare at her now cold snack. Her lip curled slightly as a quiet grunt of displeasure escaped her.

Viddera's gaze shifted briefly to an eastern dragon, who was oddly small in size, sitting by himself, like she was. Her eyes drifted over his form for a moment before she stood up, approaching the table to get more food. She carefully avoided the group surrounding the twins, moving silently and swiftly, like a black panther around a bunch of squawking flamingos. She then started glancing around the piles and piles of food, the candles dotted around the room causing her scales, polished till they shone, to shimmer like black diamonds. What to eat... what to eat...

The nod from the gray female made Prasi more interested in her. It hadn't been a nod of dismissal or submission, but a nod of short greeting and respect.

"Hmmmm..." Prasi had glanced away when she spotted her own tribe mates having fun, but when she looked back to the dark gray dragon she was heading towards the table covered in food. Prasi studied her from a distance now, taking spare glances at the other woman instead of outright staring. She had half a mind to go speak with her, if only for a moment to get acquainted.

Viddera's red wings coupled with the dark hide reminded her of blood and coals, which was a pleasing look to her eye. Having blood from the xoya and a father there perhaps made Prasi appreciate their sometimes bland color palettes far more than the odd outsider might.

She decided to wait until after the woman was done getting food to stalk over and speak to her. While she was assuming she was a xoya Prasi knew that there were other tribes who hosted darker colored dragons and she didn't want to make assumptions. So the only wya to find out was to ask.

Harry put on a satisfied smirk, noting that he was unnoticed. "This bet is already won", the male chuckled to himself. Few more hours and he would see no other than Tsidia herself. Proud ness succumb to his will.

Minutes passed and dread of boredom pushed his triggers. The male let out a sigh, shook head. A small sip wouldn't hurt, right? A pulse run through the male's body. He surged forward, a half-dance move as he pushed closer to drinks. Having more hand-like claws allowed him to hold a glass. Having to drink from a bowl would be quite unsettling.

Having to pick the right liquid was as hard as choosing a gem. The pink fluid had a sweet burn on the tongue. He felt like he had this before, pink... bubbling... oh no. The dragon felt much light-headed as his senses got a smack. Now he had it, and the glass was full as before.

The male shuffled and studied guests. A lone wolf, 3 assasins; wait. The dragon stepped closer to a hydra, doubting his sight as he saw them. What a rare sight, such occasion! Harry sighed with disappointment. His catch was already stolen. Turning from crowds, he face-forwarded into Rihzome. "H-hello Rih...zome", he spoke in parts. The ingestion pushed him more to 'hiya Rihzie'. It was not like he did care. Harry finished his drink with a smile, letting his tension all fade.

"Congrats on your crown, majesty". His tone wasn't disrespectful, but empty-minded, relaxed. This was a party, after all, we were all friends in here, right?

Has yet another dragon walked up, Darksky began to lower her head. In her mind, the black dragoness was getting away from everyone, like that other dragoness with the red wings. In reality, however, she had tried to stay and face her fears, but it was a losing battle.

She looked at her body mate with a pleading look. In their minds, she ask if he could think of something so they could walk off, even for a moment. Solarlight looked over at the food, then at his sister, before speaking up.

”Um.... We’re going to go get some food.” The pair quickly walked to the table where all the food was laid out. Sky has hid her head from the group, using the half-and-half body as a barrier. Once they finally made it, each pick up a plate and some food with their magic, with gold and purple energy enveloping Solar and Sky’s plates and food respectively. They then slowly walked to and empty table, and the white dragon began to eat, though Sky just stared at her food.

As the crowd had finally thinned, Oculus sighed and let his shoulders relax.  Almost done.  Almost free from this...he would be able to leave after this announcement and then be done with it all.  As he slowly left the area from the entrance, he maneuvered his way over to be in front of the fountain, gulping as he looked over the group.  He hated public speeches, rather be out crawling in the mud then give one.  Clearing his throat, he hit his tail against the fountain, which created a vibrating noise that echoed, hopefully gathering everyone's attention.  Looking down at the paper he had carried, containing the available colored gems that the guests could take, he put on a smile.  "So, as you know,
there will be food and you will all be dining with a special someone."  Remaining silent for a few, very uncomfortable sentences, he tapped his hind leg as he stared down at the paper.  "The plate you grabbed has a gem on it, and if you will,
please make your way over to the designated table where you should meet another guest.... um...without further ado...Cyan take a seat at table one, blue to table three.  Gray table six, green table six, red table two, pink table one, magenta table one, purple table two, white table three, yellow table four, onyx table four, and lime-green table five..."  Letting out a sigh, he let people begin to walk towards their respective table as he calmed himself, before reading at the bottom of the page something he wished he didn't.  Curling his claws into the stone, he huffed in annoyance.  Whoever had made the gem list had decided to opt Oculus into this event and prevent him from leaving.  Crumpling the paper in his claw, he growled quietly.  Whoever had made this list...they would pay.  Growling in annoyance, he began to make his way to table five.

Note:  Feel free to rp here as you walk towards your table, but please rp in the topic with your table number.  Just remember, you can see what goes on at other tables, so feel free to read their topics and make some remark to your rp partner.  Remember, this is OOC less both parties agree to make it IC, so just have fun!

Prasi sighed. Apparently there was no more time to simply chat. She'd missed her chance to speak with VIddera, but maybe some other time.

Slowly she headed to table 6 wondering who would be paired with her.
