Two Rulers for One. (Open, Stormcallers.)

Messengers were going to every Stormcaller within the tribes territory. They made sure to get the important letter from their new king and queen, that was to be given to everyone. The letter simply read:
To all Stormcallers.

As some of you may know, we have been made rulers of our tribe. As such, want everyone who can to come to the palace so we may meet everyone, and discuss some plans.

And old dragoness push the door to one of the palace’s bedrooms open. She looked around, trying to find the two dragons she knew were there. She sniffed the air, quickly noticing the scent of those she was looking for. She finally looked to see a purple tail around the corner. She walked around to find the two head dragons she was looking for, Solarlight and Darksky, and  each reading their own book.

“Good to see you two are keeping up with your studying.” Both twins turn to see the older dragon, and quickly ran up and nuzzled her, with both saying ”It’s good to see you, Yian.” The dragoness looked between the two, smiling.

“It’s good to see you too, my little dragoons. You seem to be settling in well.” Sky just shook her head.

”Not really, but we’re trying.” Solar then looked behind the older dragoness.

”Anyone else come?”

“They’re already in the meeting chamber, my ruler.” The male half just shook his head.

”Please, of all dragons, could you not call us that. It just sounds weird coming from you.” Yian chuckled a bit at the white scaled dragon’s reaction.

“Very well. I must say, the letter I assume you sent to literally everyone near the Tempest was fairly well written.” Both twins smiled before asking the dragoness to head down so they could get ready.

He had heard there was talk of a new leader coming to power over at the Stormcallers. Why? Oculus had no idea. Rubbing his temples as he read the report, he knew that as his job, he would have to learn more about this new leader as per his job obligations. Standing, he strolled outside, facing the direction that the Stormcaller's land was. It definitely would not be a quick and easy trip, and most would send someone else to figure out this scouting task. But why not go himself? It would do good to meet the leader face to face, especially given the tribal reputation of pacifism. Besides, it would free him from any paperwork that would be required of him. "Walking over to an underling, he spoke gruffly "I have matters to attend to in the Stormcallers. I will be back within a week. Pass the word to keep to duties as usual, and look more into that individual. You know whom I speak of." With that, Oculus snapped his wings open and took off towards the Stormcaller's lands.

Upon arrival, he would fold his wings and enter the main chambers, ever wary of who could be a potential threat. His posture as he strode into the main hall was one not attempting to blend in and hide, as he wasn't sure if anyone would recognize the young Herre of Intelligence to the Xoya. In the halls, he would cast his glance around, looking for one whom could be this new leader, or one that would be able to direct him to said dragon.

Yian soon made walked into the meeting chamber, and was greeted by a larger, battered male wyvern who was around her age, Glasoc. He let out a purr and nuzzled the ‘ness before she looked up at him. “This will be interesting, won’t it,” she asked. Glasoc nodded with a light growl, and made a few gestures with his wing fingers. The old dragoness Scholar smiled at the wyvern before both began to walk towards a group of Scholars.

As they walked, both took notice of the grey scaled dragon that had come in. Neither dragon recognize the newcomer, but they could tell he seemed to be looking for someone. Glasoc did notice a wariness in the grey dragon’s eyes. Definitely not from around here if he was actually worried. The two older dragons had decided to simply stop and watch the foreign dragon, neither sure what to think of him.

Meanwhile, Solarlight and Darksky had begun to walk down to the meet chamber. The pair talked between themselves as they went along, mostly about what they would say, until white scaled male noticed his sister getting nervous.

”You ok, Sky?” Sky shyly looked at her body mate, not quite sure what to say.

”I a...,” she began, not able to lie to Solar. ”No. I’m worried. What if they stare, or if they don’t like what we have to say? What happens if we goof up?” Or....”

”Keep your scales on Sky. Breath. We’re going to be ok.” Sky just shook her head.

”Easy for you to say. You’ve always been better at this. Can’t you just talk?”

”You know how that’ll look. We both need to talk. Just remember: You can do this.” Sky took a deep breath, and began repeating ”I can do this” as they came closer. At first it seemed to work until they made it to the entrance of the chamber, and Sky tried to step back. ”I can’t do this.” Sadly, for her, Solar slowly pulled her along.


”Hey. I’ll be right here.” Sky finally gave in as the pair snuck around the edge of the room up to the front. Once there, Solar let out a roar to get everyone’s attention.

All the dragons around in the meeting chamber seemed aloof, without much of a care in the world. A happy go lucky type. These dragons seemed to be too at ease, ones that seemed to have lost their combative nature of self drfense for refining in hedonous things. That, or this was just all a show put on by the new rulers, yet Oculus couldn't detect any unease among them as if they were faking it. Considering that they were stormcallers, it made sense. Letting out a huff through his nose, he gave a slight shake of his head, glancing around the room. He observed the architecture of the building more than the arts, before his gaze passed along two elder dragons, a dragoness and a wyvern. Seeing the twomwatching his movements, he sharpened hisngaze at them, almost glaring. They seemed to be someone of importance, but too old to be a ruler. He had heard there was something unique about the new stormcaller leader, and they didn’t fit the bill. Before he could begin walking towards the two, a roar vroke the sound. Casting his head towards the roar, he smiled, seeing the target of his visit. Shifting slowly closer towards the twins, he would listen to what they would say, and see when he could get a chance to introduce himself.

If Occy's here, then it'd make sense for Az to turn up as well o3o. --

Azriel didn't need spies to know that there was a new Ruler for the Stormcallers. It was common knowledge by now, especially since there was no effort to hide it. There wasn't any necessity for discretion, anyway, especially with the Stormcallers' pacifist mindset, though Azriel did note, with some amusement, how their Rulers' reigns seemed to be very short. Perhaps this one would last longer than the others--especially since rumour was that they were a two-headed hydra, which meant two heads, two minds. Only time would tell if they would have a long, successful reign, however.

It wouldn't harm him to attend the event that they were supposedly holding, though. Put simply, it was a good opportunity for many things, one of them being information.

He was not surprised to find Oculus already there. While he knew that Oculus, as the General of Intelligence, was required to attend the event to glean information, Az thought it was certainly nice to see a familiar face. The eyes in that face was currently locked in what seemed to be a staring contest with a Stormcaller citizen, and he huffed in amusement, this mostly to alert Oculus to his presence. While it'd be funny to see Oculus startle, now wasn't the time. He didn't say anything, just stood next to Oculus, like a giant black wall.

His eyes scoured the room, quickly noting the possible hiding spots and such, but had not much time to quietly observe as not many seconds after his arrival a roar silenced the chatter. Easily he located the source of the roar. Ah, so there was the famed two-headed hydra. Interesting. He remained at where he was with a small smile on his face, watching as Oculus edged forward. Waiting for the new Rulers to speak, noting how it was the white one who had roared.

Solar and Sky looked into the crowd of dragons. They watched as Yian and Glasoc walked over to the other Scholars, but Solar soon noticed some dragons they were looking at a dragon. The male silently noted him to his sister, who had started shaking. She was nervous, and a new... no. Two new dragons, apparently Xøya, and they weren’t helping thing! Solarlight tried to calm his sister down, but he was failing. His own nerves got in the way. It wasn’t until Glasoc motioned with his wing claws that the ‘ness finally calmed some. It was after that the Solar spoke, seeming confident, at least for a first timer.

”Well, as many of you know, my name is Solarlight, and this is my sister, Darksky. For one reason or another... we were chosen to be the Rulers of the Stormcallers. We know dragons like use have never been rulers anywhere. And true me, Sky’s looked. With that in mind, one thing needs to be made clear. Me and my sister are equals. Neither of us have more authority than the other normally, and that’s we will share our rule. Solarlight then eyed Sky, who gulped, and took a deep breath.

”W.... We are ready to take up the duty we’ve been given, and we will do our best to keep our citizens both safe and happy.” The black scaled dragoness shook a bit more, letting her nerves get the better of her for a moment. ”We know that the Stormcallers haven’t been as active in world affairs recently. This is a part of our past that we want to bring back, a-and have already started doing. Before this.... We went to Ki’Sha territory, and spoke with the Kuz’a. We have managed to make a-an alliance with them.” Solar smiled at his sister, surprised and happy that she did so well. The white scaled half then spoke again.

”We are also creating two new ranks within the tribe. The first new rank is Advisor. Basically, me and Darksky under we don’t know everything, and that we’ll need help understanding things sometimes. That’s why we’re making this position.” Sky then took over speak, not any more comfortable than she’d been with the whole thing.

”T-the second new rank is that of Guardian. Guardians will be a spall group of dragons that work to be sure Diplomates, Scholars, other citizens, and visitors to the Twilight Palace are safe, and protecting us and future Rulers will be their last priority. They will be trained to be discerning of order, and be willing to ignore them if they aren’t right. They won’t be warriors, unless an individual is already that skilled. They will simply be protectors.” Solar then took the reins again and spoke.

”Both new ranks can also be kept with previous ranks. But, unless someone has a question, that’s all we have to say.”

Staring the two dragons down, Oculus only cast a small glance to his right to see Azriel standing there. Typical, late to the party as always. Probably got caught up in one of his traps on the way out and got himself delayed. Just the thought of that caused a smile to appear on his maw as he then turned to watch the...well...he wasn't quite sure what to call them. They appeared like a hydra but also a western dragon. Interesting. Is it possible that they share thoughts? Do they bicker? What happens when one goes right and the other left? So many questions, but for now, he would remain silent and listen to the speech.

Listening to them both speak, it was obvious to pick out that one was male and the other female, with the first being a bit more bold judging by the stutter from the female. "Interesting, is it not? To pick h...those two as a leader after all the tribe changes," Oculus spoke quietly in Xoyan. "Very interesting speech to be making at an announcement while giving away information on their own ranking system. Curious those two." He would remain smiling, looking at Azriel with a tilt of the head, before glancing back up at the twins, wondering when would be the best time to contact them in a more personal dialogue.

Azriel couldn't tell whether the glance he received was one of acknowledgment or to identify who was standing next to the General, but it didn't really matter. His main focus here was not Oculus, after all. The Rulers started speaking then, and as Oculus turned to observe them like a hawk, Azriel swore he glimpsed a small smile adorning the younger male's maw, and frowned in annoyance. Clearly he had been thinking something... funny about Azriel.

He maintained a neutral expression as Solarlight and Darksky spoke, playing the role of a casual listener. Hiding the fact that he was in fact paying very close attention to the new Rulers, especially their choice of words... And the information they were giving away. It seemed like they didn't know why they were chosen--not of royal blood, then, he guessed. It was obvious that Solarlight was the more outgoing of the two, being the one to initiate the speech. Darksky's stuttering confirmed his assumption, turning it into a fact that he stored away in his mind.

An alliance with the Ki'Sha--now that was interesting and quite unexpected. The Ki'Sha had never been friendly to anyone, the Stormcallers least of all. Had there been a change of heart in the Ki'Sha ruler?--perhaps a literal one. Scortia would never have accepted an alliance with keepers of knowledge, more likely with a more militaristic tribe like the Xoya. Yes, there was probably a new leader for the Ki'Sha. Interesting.

The Stormcallers didn't have the roles of Guardian and Adviser before? Azriel thought with some surprise. Well then. That was... well, also interesting. Oculus seemed to think so too. "Of course, there is a reason why they were picked, assuming that they are not of royal blood. We have yet to find out why, but it can't be denied that they are... Unique," Azriel remarked quietly. He fought a smile at Oculus's mention of information--there was loads here. "The Stormcallers have always known for being very open."

Interesting, very interesting. Ja'nua had heard of a new leader, but when he had discovered who it was.... he was skeptical. He did not know of these Stormcallers very well, but from what he had managed to find out upon news of their coronation... he was curious. And mildly unnerved. Was a change in leader really... well, the best idea right now? Who knows.

As Ja'nua slithered into the coronation room, he noticed that there seemed to be two Xoyans there. Not that this was a surprise. The Stormcallers weren't big on guards. They were very peaceful and laid back. A bit too laid back, if you asked him.

Ja'nua listened to them speak, raising an eyeridge. An alliance with the Ki'sha? How interesting...

The pair looked around. No one seemed to have any questions, so the pair simply nodded to dismiss everyone and walked towards Yian, Glasoc, and the other Scholars in the little group. As they walked, Darksky couldn’t help but keep a nervous, shy eye on the two Xøya that were there. Both twins had wondered why the two dragons had come. Maybe they were just gathering information? Perhaps they just overheard a Stormcaller? Neither really knew for sure.

They also noticed the wyrm that came. It certainly wasn’t the most common sight in Stormcaller territory to see a wyrm, especially above the Tempest Ring. The dragon’s appearance also match on they had knew fairly well from some books they would read. Ja’nua. He definitely wasn’t the most common sight.

Amusing... The two-headed dragon seemed very much uneasy. There could be several reasons behind it, ranging from job anxiety to public speaking to the presence of himself and the other Xoyan. While he wouldn't be able to distinguish which of the possible reasons could be of concern to the Stormcaller leader...or leaders, he had an inkling it was due to his presence The female was definitely eying him, and he would attempt direct eye contact just to see reaction, as she seemed much less brave than her counterpart. "Open indeed. Seems dangerous to be open about that much information is it not? And it seems the two have gone to hide in a corner. I think my presence scares them. Good thing I have a clumsy goof with me to help smoothen any fears, right? " Oculus would give a small smug smile as he spoke in Xoyan with Azriel, "Shall we go and greet them?" he asked as if nothing had been previously said.

Azriel watched as the twins, having nothing else to say, nodded a dismissal and moved towards a group of Stormcallers--which included a citizen that Oculus had been glaring at earlier. A small smile graced his face at the memory, widening slightly when Oculus chose to met the gaze of the shier one, who had been eyeing them. Ah, a test to see her reaction... He answered Oculus in low tones, "They're Stormcallers," stating this simply as if it were the reason for everything. Which is was, actually. The change of Rulers had never altered how friendly, how open the Stormcallers were. They had never been one for secrecy.

"Someone thinks very highly of himself," he remarked dryly. "I, a clumsy goof? And you, who can't seem to stop eyeing everyone in the room. But yes, two Xoyans appearing in a Stormcaller event would raise eyebrows. Especially since our Tribe isn't known for being friendly--though we would be considered quite tame compared to the Ki'Sha," he snorted. Not divulging his suspicions that there was a change in the leader, but he wasn't even sure if he was right about that. That wasn't important now, though.

Azriel saw no point in dawdling any further, and said so. "Yes, let's go." With this said he started towards the new Rulers.

Haven was near the back of the gathering of dragons, he had arrived sometime between the obnoxious and rather weak roar of one of the heads of the hydra looking creature. Pitiful. Two heads will collide one way or the other. The Stormcallers palace never was grand in his eyes, but the ears and eyes of the Stormcallers around him were focused on the new proclaimed "Leaders". Plural. Disgusting, who would ever want to rule with a Kin. He gave a vicious snort turning some heads of the slim dragons of this tribe some jumping in fear. The King was here and only a select few have noticed... If they even knew who he was. To some, he was a gigantic figure with a bad attitude. There was another Xoyan next to him and he was more broad then he. His status was unknown, yet, power radiated off the two of them. The twins didn't notice the monstrous sized black dragons who loomed in the back.

Haven spotted two gems within the rubbish, Oculus and Azriel. Haven didn't want to give his position away but if they had their training correct they should have sensed the powerful presence long ago. The younger dragon spoke something in Xoyan to the King growing silent as the twins started to speak. Haven stifled a mocking laugh as the dragon head stuttered. This performance was lamentable from here to the Great Sea. He detected who was the moment they opened their repulsive mouths. The words "Guardian" echoed around the area. The only thing Haven though of was if these new "Guardians" were trained well or well enough to have fun while he ripped their limbs from their bodies.

Haven started to move forward, shouldering through the crowd with his massive chest. His lips were pulling back in a diabolical snarl the sound automatically moving the smaller dragons from his path. It was obvious of his presence now, the Mad King's name vibrated around the commoners.

"Alliance with the Ki'Sha."

Haven couldn't help but give out a hearty laugh, their speech ending. One was braver than the other, they were indecisive and hesitate. The younger dragon followed close behind, dragons giving protests as they were rather... Pushed aside. Haven's tail flicked for them to stop, near the front of the crowd, his omnipresence would turn the heads of many.
"Father..." The young male would hiss, his voice low.
"Hm?"
The young male would motion to the other two Xoyans, for they were moving to the new ruler as well. Haven gave a snort of acknowledgment. He would wait his turn.

As the new leaders continued walking, both couldn’t help but notice the two massive dragons that were there. They easily identified the oldest of them. Haven. Just his sight terrified Sky, but not as much as the younger dragon. He was... well... extremely scarred. Both Solarlight and Darksky could feel an energy that this younger dragon used, and could see why. It was practically holding him together. Sky was shaking at the sight of the pair, and Solar just tried to calm her down.

It thankfully wasn’t long before the got back to the group of dragons that they were looking for. Yian nuzzled the pair before happily saying “You did great for your first time, my dragoons.” The pair smiled, before noticing Glasoc make some motions with his wing finger. Both Solar and Sky smiled until the mute wyvern pointed out the pair of Xøyians coming.

The pair turned to face the foreigners. Sky still looked nervous, but Solar managed to keep his cool. ”Well. Welcome to the Twilight Palace.”
