Disco Lights (FINISHED) Empty Disco Lights (FINISHED)

Post by Prasi Tue Oct 18, 2016 1:32 pm

Prasi had dodged her guards to escape the confines of her tribe. Their territory was so small now that she could reach their boundaries and leave with just a short flight from the mountains. It was bright and warm out, with the sun shining through blue skies upon  lightly forested marsh. She was looking around for mushrooms that she didn't grow herself, but were growing naturally outside. Prasi's fungusamungus powers worked more than well in her tribes territory allowing her to grow large numbers of mushrooms in the wet marshes and moist forests of their territory as well as within the tunnels. Many of the fungi she grew were so rare that they might naturally no longer be found in the land, and they all had different uses. Many were edible for food, other were good as spices, some were medicinal, and many were deadly. Prasi didn't know what the majority of the kinds of mushrooms she could make do, and it was her job to figure that out. So far the only ideas she had come up with to test whether the mushrooms were dangerous to eat or not were to use them on prisoners, if they had any, or to shove them down the throats of large lizards t see if they would survive then test it themselves.

Now she was looking for native mushrooms because those Prasi knew one hundred percent that she could eat. Prasi could grow mushrooms anywhere sure, but she had no idea what species would grow into existence when she used her powers. Native mushrooms were always available and the tribe knew how t use them. Already she had half a basket full of native white button mushrooms that would make a nice side during dinner. Though Prasi was always on the lookout for a stray deer or other prey item. She loved to hunt, and being away from the tribe gave her time to hunt alone. So far though nothing but the scents of small rabbits and rodents came to her muzzle.

Moving form one spot to another Prasi spotted something peculiar. A mushroom that seemed to glitter i the sunlight sparkled form the ground to her right. At first Prasi thought it was a regular white mushroom with dew on it, then she remembered that the dew form morning had long since evaporated away, and no fog or rain was around. Crouching down she admired the mushroom, which she found to resemble a disco ball. It had highly reflective spots which is what she thought it had dew on it at first. Wanting to find out what kind of mushroom this was Prasi scooped it up with some of it's own dirt and put it in its own side basket. Then she continued looking for regular mushrooms.

Due to the fact that he lived near the large lake, It was easy for oculus to leave he Xoyan territory. Anytime that he was 'caught', it could simply be excused as data gathering of the terrain around, as he was the general of information. Since today he hadn't no real task, and he bright shining sun was out, he would take advantage of ensituation, and go out for a nice flight. Oculus currently lived in a cave overlooking the lake, on the outskirts of Xoyan territory. There were many reasons for this. The primary reason was that the lake view and scenery was hard to pass up, the second being it was more isolated from the daily hubbub of life near the capital. Thirdly, since he was far from the capital, he could exercise when needed with a good flight to he capital before any boring general meeting, or whatever Lady Gemini fancied to call it. Today, there was no meeting, meaning he could train the Skyggers, or explore.

Like any dutiful young dragon, he chose he second, gliding down from he peak of his humble home to the lake to catch a nice breakfast of fresh fish. It did not take long, as not many fished from the lake, meaning the supply was high. It took roughly 5 different dives from the sky to get a decent meal, eating the fish as he caught them instead of going to shore to enjoy it. While the sun was out, Oculus took full advantage of it, finding a warm rock before preening his wet scales, rearranging hem after his dive. Black scale should heated up quickly, which evaporated the water nicely. Giving a small shake after his sun bath, a process that lasted maybe 20 minutes, he warmed the blood in his wings, pumpin Hrm in the air to get blood flowing. Flying stiff was not terrible, but could leave you sore after a flight, something that was best avoided if able. Having a full day to himself, he took off to explore the toe territory to the north in the forest.

Circling over the forest, Oculus took his time enjoying the green landscape, getting a general idea of where he would go 'plunge' into. Forest leaves and branches blocked most of the detailed land below, so while the tops of the forest he knew well, the undergrowth was barely explored by him. This is where he took excuse to explore under he trees as he General of Information. He hardly reportedly anything he found to anyone but his Skyggers, as he never fancied the graphing of maps. Taking a plunge into a quadrant he knew was out of Valeterrene, he dropped below the branches, landing and beginning to poke around. Rogues were never a fear for him, as Oculus would take them on a fight if needed. Cocky as he was, he had the skill to back it up, especially for his young age. Poking around, Oculus tried to note several areas of interest, like marsh puddles, vegetation dense areas, things of those sorts. Every few minutes he would clamber a tree to get a feel for where he was, using local mountains and general sense of where he had traveled to get his bearings. This was not a very quiet process, so when he got closer to the area that Prasi was, he would be heard climbing or rustling up the forest to peak out over the canopy. Under the canopy, he was silent.

Prasi had no idea that Oculus was nearby. His scent was being blown away from her and she couldn't see him as he wandered through the darkness beneath the canopy. So she continued on picking mushrooms blind to the presence of the dark dragon nearby.

Stopping at the sound of rustling, Oculus crept towards the sound, maintaining a low stalking crouch as he came to the source of the sound. Staying behind bush cover, he peaked and noticed that a long, blue furred dragon was there. Strangely, this rogue did not know that he was here. He would have assumed that being would have been much more alert. Seeing no threat in the long dragon, or dragoness as he observed, he stood up and sat down, watching her pick the funky orbs from the ground that healers sometimes used back at the tribe. Oculus never played with those orbs, knowing some were very deadly, and some very beneficial. He just could never identify which was which, so avoided them all together. He would watch her for a minute or so, and if she didn't notice him but then, would speak out "hope you know how to differentiate those things, some are pretty nasty I hear."

It wasn't until the male was very close by that her flickering forked tongue, much like her mothers, caught the scent of the other dragon. She stiffened and readied her poison glands for an attack. If he touched her even once she would give him a nasty surprise. A light film of creme leaked out from between her scales just a small amount as she continued harvesting the fungi. Rather than note the drakes presence she was confident enough to ignore him and continue her job until he did something.

Soon enough she heard his voice not too far behind her as he commented on the mushrooms she was picking. Curious as to why he should care about her well being Prasi finally lifted her head and turned to give him an alluring smile with her left brow raised somewhat questioningly.

Those of us who live among the wet and moldy earth of our tribe recognize more than a few basic species of fungi that help or hurt us since we live around them. Her voice was as cool as dew on a summer morning as she plucked a mushroom and held it up to show him. Her upper body turned just a bit to allow her full view of the dark dragon sitting there. Would you like to try this one? She smiled softly sniffing the mushroom as if it were a prized morsel.

It was quite interesting that the dragoness did not appear to be startled. That either meant that this place was usually safe and no one feared attack, she knew he was there, or she simply was just one not to be startled easily. As a matter of fact, watching how she simple gave a beeming smile with a somewhat curious look, it seemed as if there was not a shred of fear, making Oculus lean towards the guess she had known he was there. If she had known, then why wouldn't she have acknowledged him? Must be a safe part of the forest, or the dragoness had something that made them confident.

Smiling at the younger dragoness, he slightly tilted his head to the side and brought his chin cocked to the left and up, looking at her with a small smirk as he listened to her speak. From the sound of it, she must be a native of the forest. Tribe however, must mean it was one of their neighbors, the Valaterrene. "Ahhh, so you must be from the Vleterne, correct?" he spoked with a somewhat broken Universal when mentioning tribal names. Standing at her offer of a mushroom, he approached with a smile. While half of him said not to eat it, the other half wondered what could be the harm? Even if it was a bad mushroom, it was small compared to him. "Why, who could resist such a dashing dragoness's offer of a rare treat? ...It is safe, correct?" he asked, once again tilting his head to the side, but much more than before as he took his focus off the dragoness for a bit to focus on the little mushroom.

Prasi let a confident and flirtatious smile strike upon her maw as she held the mushroom up higher offering it to him. She took only a small nibble out of it, then after swallowing she winked at the dark male.
"I promise it's safe to eat. Here you have the rest of this one." The long dragonesse offered hi the entire mushroom though it had a small bite taken out of it. Her Universal was smooth and crisp prving to those who were not ignorant that she came from a royal or high born bloodline within her tribe. Dragons from the higher ranks had to learn universal language on the off chance foreigners travelled through or talks with other dragon nations occurred. Often enogh the dragons who held high ranks had families too, and the children were also taught some of the language. Prasi's mother had been queen before her, and because of that Prasi had been taught at a young age both the tribes language and universal.

Oculus could hear the clean pronunciation of words of someone who had practiced. Since she was Valaterrene, it meant that she must have been one of the higher positioned ones, maybe a head doctor considering she was out gathering plants. Taking the mushroom from the noodly dragoness's paw, he lifted it, examining it slightly before biting off more than half of it off and swallowing. He did his best to hide the distaste of the mushroom, as he handed back the less than half bitten mushroom. "Ah... I am one for cooked mushrooms," he spoke in a harsher, deeper Universal. While he did learn the language, his accent was not completely lost, as it was something he was still working on. "besides, a treat like this should be saved for those who need it more, no? Perhaps a patient of yours, or maybe a treat for the one who sent you out?" Settling down into a sit, he lifted a paw and rubbed the corners of his mouth, smoothing out any scales, even if nothing was dirtied or out of place.

The dark bluish black eastern western dragon hybrid watched curiously as the male ate more than half the potent mushroom. She kept herself quiet only letting a cheeky smile fall over her previous half smile. What she hadn't told the dark stranger was that the mushroom was often used for dragons with constipation, and only a tiny amount needed to be eaten to relieve the blockage. The amount of mushroom he had just eaten would, in about an hour or so, leave the male sitting over a pit of dragon sh-- for hours pooping his brains out. She'd only eaten the recommended dose of poo mushroom which would help move her bowels along nicely. Of course Prasi could tell him about it but she would much more enjoy chatting with him and then watching him squirm after they've talked for a while. The she dragon would soon cure his trusting nature with the little practical joke.

"We have many recipes for great tasting cooked mushrooms." she commented lightly while taking the piece of mushroom back. Then she listened to his question with a cocked head.
"Oh this kind of mushroom is not used often, so sparing some for you is no problem. Besides, I came out here of my own accord. I needed to get away from family for a while, but make it look like I was doing something useful while I was gone. Laziness is not tolerated on my tribe." Prasi let her smile fade then turned to grab up some more mushrooms. Her eyes trailed off of the fine male just a tad taller than she before looking to the ground again.

Listening to the blue eastern dragoness suggested that she may not have been a medic for the tribe, but rather a runaway kid. To whom, he did not know, but someone of an educated caste. He couldn't he,p but smirk, finding it a bit ironic how she was fleeing to 'look' busy, but ended up actually being busy and productive. "So, you ran from your family to be lazy, and ended up picking mushrooms for food? So doesn't that mean you are actually doing something useful instead of just pretending?". Sitting on his haunches, he licked the back of his right paw, before rubbing said paw just under his eye, continuing to clean and adjust his scales just so they remained sleek and in order. Since she seemed to be looking back for mushrooms, he asked her another question. "So, this family of yours that you flee, who are they miss...? he drew out the 's' sound, asking silently what happened to be her name.

Prasi tilted her head to one side as she listened to the male talk of how she was not beiing lazy at all, but in fact being useful. That wasn't the issue she had or why she left though.
"I should explain more.. better.. or properly." she paused getting the words. mixed up for a moment.
"I left for a bit to do an easier task than the one I was given back at the tribe.. I needed a break from hard jobs and so decided to pick mushrooms at a nice slow pace." she corrected herself while turning to watch the male again. She liked the shade of his dark scales and how they hid him partially in the shade of the dappled sunlight reaching through the trees. Her own dark scales did the same, but the bluish tint in them kept her from blending too well in the brightened green forest.. Becoming self conscious Prasi glimpsed to her own scales to check their cleanliness. The male took such good care of how he looked but even as the current monarch of the Valeterrene tribe Prasi was not the best at looking her best.
"My mother was Rossa of my tribe, and my father was a male from the Xoyan tribe. I do not know too much about him." she answered the male truthfully but did not give away whether she was more than just a princess or not.

After finishing his little grooming session, he watched the sleek dragoness look up from her task to speak to him. She was a curious sort. One to be heading off into the wilderness to escape her tribal duties, by picking fungus off the ground. "So, you left for an easier job... what job is it you left that was causing you such hardship?" Oculus did not know why, but it seemed strange for one to be leaving to get fungus, it was very strange to him, especially if she was of a higher caste. As she spoke of a Rossa, Oculus was lost. Ironic, for being the Herre of Intelligence, his intelligence on foreign tribes was much lacking. "Your mother was a... noble? And who was your father? It would be interesting to know if I knew him, miss...?" this time with a little flare of his paw as if he were offering a tray, he hoped to catch the name of the blue scaled dragoness.

Picking a blue riged mushroom with purple at the center o its cp., Prasi marveled at the deadly thing. She would not offer this to anyone unless they were suffering greatly. At te same time she listened to Oculus while he asked another question. My he was a curious one, but Prasi didn't mind. Her tribe held no secrets spare fora few healing concoctions made from rare plants.

"Oh the job I had to take a break from had me sorting through the Pori to see who was ready to start training and getting them paired with teachers." Prasi sighed knowing that she was only half done with that job and would have to finish it tomorrow morning to stay on schedule. She really shouldn't be here but even so she wanted to stay and chat for a while.

Glancing up at the sky to see where the sun was Prasi judged the amount of time she could stay. Then she looked down. to see a confused look on Oculus's face as he asked about her parents again.

"My mother Rii was a regal Rossa not a noble. My father's name is Slychotic." Prasi answered. As she gave her parents names though she remembers that she had not given her name yet, nor had the dark handsome male.

"What is your name may I ask?" Prasi's customs within her tribe said tat the lower ranking dragon gave their name first, which is why she withheld hers for a bit longer.

While he did not know what a Pori was, he could guess it was the youngsters that were now rising to adulthood and finding their purpose among the tribe. This suggested the blue tinted scaled dragoness to be an overseer of sorts, but the way she mentioned her mother as a regal figure hinted otherwise. "sLychotic....familiar name, not quite able to put the face to it though. And yes, I am Oculus, dear lady. What is your regal name?" He asked, skin get a shot in the dark that she too had some royalty in her blood. It would make sense, being able to leave whenever, her crisp universal, and her job of sorting youngsters. It just begged the question, was she really alone out here if she was regal, or were their guards lurking about?

"My name is Prasi current Rossa of the Valeterrene tribe." she finally relented. She could only hide her name and rank for so long before it starts to get boring or becomes obvious who she is without her even having to answer.

Prasi held her head high while her oddly colored bluish eyes glittered. She was proud of her position even if it often restricted her movements keeping her near her tribes territory. She used to love to roam the lands when she was just a bit younger, but now that was all at an end. Then she picked a few more mushrooms before scenting the air. Her brothers scent drifted on the breeze, but she wasn't sure if it was being carried by the wind from home or if he was nearby. It would be like him to be so quiet simply watching her from a distance.

"So what rank do you hold within your own tribe? You look like a fine warrior to me." Prasi commented glancing over his lean body again before shifting her gaze to a patch of mushrooms.
