Disco Lights (FINISHED)

Prasi had dodged her guards to escape the confines of her tribe. Their territory was so small now that she could reach their boundaries and leave with just a short flight from the mountains. It was bright and warm out, with the sun shining through blue skies upon  lightly forested marsh. She was looking around for mushrooms that she didn't grow herself, but were growing naturally outside. Prasi's fungusamungus powers worked more than well in her tribes territory allowing her to grow large numbers of mushrooms in the wet marshes and moist forests of their territory as well as within the tunnels. Many of the fungi she grew were so rare that they might naturally no longer be found in the land, and they all had different uses. Many were edible for food, other were good as spices, some were medicinal, and many were deadly. Prasi didn't know what the majority of the kinds of mushrooms she could make do, and it was her job to figure that out. So far the only ideas she had come up with to test whether the mushrooms were dangerous to eat or not were to use them on prisoners, if they had any, or to shove them down the throats of large lizards t see if they would survive then test it themselves.

Now she was looking for native mushrooms because those Prasi knew one hundred percent that she could eat. Prasi could grow mushrooms anywhere sure, but she had no idea what species would grow into existence when she used her powers. Native mushrooms were always available and the tribe knew how t use them. Already she had half a basket full of native white button mushrooms that would make a nice side during dinner. Though Prasi was always on the lookout for a stray deer or other prey item. She loved to hunt, and being away from the tribe gave her time to hunt alone. So far though nothing but the scents of small rabbits and rodents came to her muzzle.

Moving form one spot to another Prasi spotted something peculiar. A mushroom that seemed to glitter i the sunlight sparkled form the ground to her right. At first Prasi thought it was a regular white mushroom with dew on it, then she remembered that the dew form morning had long since evaporated away, and no fog or rain was around. Crouching down she admired the mushroom, which she found to resemble a disco ball. It had highly reflective spots which is what she thought it had dew on it at first. Wanting to find out what kind of mushroom this was Prasi scooped it up with some of it's own dirt and put it in its own side basket. Then she continued looking for regular mushrooms.

Ahh, so this dragoness shared the rank that was once her mother's. While Oculus still did not know for certain what a "Rossa" was, he could take a shot in the dark at her rank. It was always better to overestimate someone than insulting them by underestimating them. "Ahhh, so you must be the Valetarene leader? Pleasant to meet you, Lady Prasi," he spoke, standing up to bow his lower front, bringing his right paw to his chest with a thump, claws clenched. Even with the bow, he kept his eyes open, something only a few would notice as it showed not complete trust. It wasn't insulting, just showed that the other wasn't submitting. "I am Herre of the Skygger, or Heneral of Intelligence, as you might call it." Oculus showed a definite accent with the word general, as while fluent, he had not mastered all the sounds of Universal that differed from Xoyan. Lifting himself up from the small bow, he couldn't help how her eyes didn't focus on his eyes, but meandered over his body. It made him a little self-conscious, so as he sat back down, he looked in her general direction, but not directly at her. "So... um... how many mushrooms do you plan on collecting?"

"Yes I lead my small tribe." Prasi nodded slightly pleased at the males low bow. She took no notice of his opened eyes while he bowed. He would be a fool to trust her. She was glad to see a male with... some.. intelligence. He DID eat a mushroom she gave him so he couldn't be totally intelligent, but even so she hadn't shooed him off yet as he'd been charming so far.

"Just a few more, my basket is nearly full." She smiled then checked the air for any suspicious scents again. "What are you doing so far from your tribe big boy?" Prasi teased while gathering some bright yellow mushrooms.

Although he lacked the nit-picky details of political life for the tribes, he did have a rough estimate of tribal numbers. The Valeterrene were not the most numerous, being almost the smallest tribe out there. They bordered his own tribe's territory and were earth dwellers mainly. Prasi was not what he was expecting from the Valeterrene, as he had the predeposition that they were rugged dragons. She was much more regal with her nicely tinted blue scales, and her antlers made her look much more in tune with the environment. When she began to sniff the air after answering that her, he quieted himself. Sense of smell was not his strong suit, but his eyesight was unmatched, and his sense of hearing was decent. Scanning the horizon of...well...trees... he stilled his breath to see if he could hear anything. Opening his mouth to respond, he faltered and pursed his lips, flushing up a bit. That last, added part to her question was not what he was expecting and it caught him totally off guard. "Iy-eah...um..." collecting himself, he shook his head lightly and refocused his eyes on Prasi. I come out to survey the land, see if there is anything out here that would be of interest, maybe big game, spots of ambush, interesting creatures, b-... yeah, just surveying. And getting some fresh air from the politics." He smiled as he cut himself short of saying something that would have embarrassed him, and tried to redirect the coversation off himself. "How do you know all these mushrooms if your mother was a Rossa like you, Lady Prasi? I would have assumed that you would be busy doing other things besides picking mushrooms, much less know which ones are safe and not, like those brightly colored yellow ones." Motioning with his head to the mushrooms she was gathering, he studied the vibrant yellow things. With all the dangers of mushrooms, he preferred his cooked and prepared by a chef with knowledge, or just avoid them all together.

Prasi grinned with glee at how uncomfortable the male got after her teasing. She loved to play pranks, dominate, and mess with others minds just to see their reactions. Even those she loved were not immune to her tricks, as her poor mother and siblings knew all too well. It was all meant for fun though, as Prasi would feel slightly bad if someone got angry, sad, or scared from her pranks. Right now she was thoroughly enjoying herself though.

She nodded as he answered her question, though was a little worried that there might be a. confrontation between her hunters and any the Xoya sent near here. Their territories did touch in many places, but in some areas like this they did not. This place was. neutral ground and that meant that nobody should really be fighting over it. She knew how savage her mother could be though when hunting as well as some of her siblings. For a moment Prasi paused and sighed wondering where some of her family had disappeared to all those years ago.

Then she glanced back up to smile at Oculus.
"My mother was a healer and the tribes best blacksmith before she married the previous Rost and became Rossa herself. She taught me a lot of the herbs and fungi used in healing and what they are for but not how to use them. I like to help the tribe healers we have left by gathering these." she waved her claws over to the yellow mushrooms while answering.

"A leader of my tribe must be knowledgable in many areas not just politics." she finished before picking a yellow mushroom and holding it before his eyes.

"This can help improve breathing and blood circulation." she spoke softly then put the thing into her basket.

Clouds were beginning to amass covering the sun up and casting the two dragons on shadow. They'd been chatting for about fifteen minutes so far between short pauses. Prasi would have to head back soon.

Seeing the large grin adorning Prasi's face, Oculus pieced it together that she was purposefully trying to fluster him. Even knowing that she was trying to fluster him did not help, as it just made him all the more flustered. Her smile did disappear quite suddenly, followed by a sigh. What could this be? Did something come to mind that bothered her? Did she have to leave and was upset? Whatever it was, it was something that would most likely remain a mystery.

The leader of the Valeterrene did seem to perk back up when she raised her, head, but Oculus kept mental note of something going on. A blacksmith and a healer? What a weird combination. The two jobs were practically opposites, one demanding soft precision, the other hard labor."A very interesting job combination that your mother held. Would not have expected a worker of labor to also be one of precision in the medical field. But it seems knowledge of fungi has helped you." Watching her wave her hand over the mushrooms, Oculus couldn't stop himself from grunting in disgust at the mention of politics. If Prasi gave him a questioning look or noticed the grunt at all, he would have quickly explained his dislike for the politicians who were too lazy to get anything done themselves. "My, with all the different colored mushrooms, you must have had a hard time picking one from the other, which one saves lives and which one ends lives, no?"

Looking around at how the sun pierced through the trees, he gave his wings a small flutter to keep blood from stilling in them. Stretching out his shoulders and neck, he refocused on the elegant dragoness before him. "I guess you don't get out much if mushroom collecting is one of your only valid excuses to flee tribe duties, no?" he spoke with a grin, teasing her just slightly.

"Many fungi save or kill lives. To be truthful I don't even know half of them. Just the basic ones." Prasi answered as she filled her bags with fungi still.

"No I don't get out much. Though I would consider coming here again if you were here to talk to." She smiled a small coy smile at himpausing in her fungi collecting.

Oculus continued to watch Prasi pick various mushrooms and place them in her basket. "I do hope you don't collect mushrooms you are not familiar with... I hear quite a few of them have.... nasty side effects." As she spoke that she would come back if he came here, he would have responded that he might be out and about, but her smile.... devious as it was...made him falter and blink, confused.

Azelf had been wondering where Prasi had been for the past half an hour. He could have sworn she had told him to meet her here... maybe he had heard the times wrong? The vigilant adviser swished his tail back and forth, a look of visible agitation on his face. He decided to go looking for her, calling out her name as he walked through the forest underbrush.

"Prasi! Are you out here somewhere?" The drake would call.

Prasi grinned devilishly at the dark males warnings about fungi. Should she tell him? Or let him suffer later not knowing why he was pooping his brains out? She debated on which action to take.

Half an hour had passed since she had first met the mysterious drake, and dragons with delicate bellies might have already been feeling sick in their bowels right now. Prasi finally relented leaving a coy smile on her bluish black scaled lips as she spoke to him.

"Oh yes it's good to know ones mushrooms. That one I gave you earlier for instance, you ate enough of it for three or four dragons to clean out their digestive tracts. I expect you'll be busy adding manure to the plants around here soon enough." Orasi couldn't supress a little giggle from that thought.

"If you can forgive me though I really would like to meet with you again at some point." She paused then as a noise reached through the trees. A dragon with a deeper tone of voice than Occy was calling, and her name was the one being called. Recognizing the familiar timber of Azelf's voice, Raz turned to look towards the trees.

"Not sure if you want to meet one of my advisers or not. He probably won't like seeing you near me." Prasi rumbled casting a mischievous glance to Oculus. She was giving him enough of a warning and head start to get away before her tribe mate found them if the Xoyan so wished it. She would stay there though, as the patch of fungi was large in this area.

Oculus smiled as he watched Prasi obviously mulling something over in her head.  As she began to explain the mushroom he had just eaten, his smile slowly dripped down to a thin, unamused line as his eyes narrowed at the dragoness.  So this dragoness decided to poison him?  At the very least it wasn't a deadly toxin.  Her little gag, however, was one he was not amused in the slightest of.  "Oh, is that so?  Then I do highly suggest you find a way to counter the effects with something else, less there seems no reason for me to return here on friendly terms.  Besides, poisoning an official of Xoya is an act that is not taken very lightly, Lady Prasi of the Valeterrene.  While I do appreciate the fact it is not deadly, I do not appreciate the effects.  So, say a trade.  Give me something to cancel the effect, and I'll come back and meet ya here or something?  Sound good?"  While Oculus could have gone on a much harsher tone, it was hard for him to do that with the dragoness that seemed to be just playing a harmless prank. He knew there were things that could constipate dragons, and if Prasi was a healer or had healer knowledge, she would probably be able to concoct something to offset the amount of laxative mushroom he had consumed. Why did the cute dragoness have to play a mean prank on him, or all people?

The female took no note of any warning tone or aggression the male may have had in his stance while mentioning the mushrooms once again. While she hid her amusement at his worried expression behind a serious face, Prasi glanced back towards where Azelf's voice had come from.

Then she looked back to Oculus, gave him a wink, and saying nothing, tossed a blue mushroom at him from her basket. She did not tell him whether the mushroom would help or not, but she knew that it would counter the effects of the previous mushroom he'd eaten. Instead she tried to stealthily slip away form Oculus before Azelf could see them together. Her lanky body hid as best she could in the upright shrubs and thick undergrowth of the landscape as she disappeared out of Oculus's sight.

As if she were playing, Prasi tried to come around to Azelf and surprise her tribe mate. Would he spot her before she popped out of the bushes and roared playfully at him though?
