Tunnels and Nights (Noctis)

Kopatel climbed out from one of her tunnels, chain clattering behind her. She carried a bag of new gems to sell. She smiled and sung a little song as she walked along to the main road. She was happy today, making sure her tail chain didn't get caught on anything. The young dragoness sighed happily as she finally pulled out a little folding table, letting her spread some of her new gems out. Hopefully someone would want some.

Noctis climbs down from the tree he was sleeping in and starts making his way to the river to catch some fish, he spots a wingless dragoness setting up a table and placing some gems on it, He walks over to the dragoness. "Good morning, my those are some nice gems you got."

Tel finished setting up, looking proud before hearing a voice. She looked up, seeing a dragon there who seemed interested in the gems she’d dig up. She smiled, and nodded, though she tried to keep her tail a bit hidden.

“Thanks. Nothing’s particularly rare, but they are nice.”

"All are nice, but don't hold a candle to the gem sitting behind the table." Noctis blushes slightly and smiles. "I'll buy a ruby and a sapphire."

Two smiled and blushed at the comment, her tail sliding a little and causing the chain to make a small clinking.

“Oh.... Well thank you, but this gem has its flaws.” She the. Picked up a few good rubies and sapphires. “Here’s the best of both that I’ve got. Take your pick.”

"What was that sound? He hears the chain clinking and tries to look over the table.

Tel flinched a little, only making the chain rattle more. She looked at Noctis, sighing a little.

“It’s nothing. Don’t worry.” Little did she know that her flinch had thrown the chain out in front of the table. It was clear she was nervous about it though.

Noctis sees the barbed chain. "Ah that was the sound, is this attached to you?"

Tel blushed a bit, pulling the chain back behind the table, hoping this dragon wasn't messing with it when she did. The drake finally sighed, looking before finally speaking up.

"Y... yeah. It's embedded. Can't be removed."

"How did it happen?" He asks as he picks the two nicest out of the rubies and sapphires.

"I.... Well.... It's complicated." She then walked out from behind the table to show her tail. The chain only popped up in a few places, but most of it was buried beneath her tail. "I see you've picked your gems too."

"Yeah, here the pay for them." He counts out and sets it on the table. "How's about I treat you to breakfast?"

Tel smiled, taking the pay before hearing what the dark scaled dragon asked. "Oh! Oh.... Well.... I.... Um.... Sure." Her tail swung a little, the chain rattling as it did.

"Better stash those other gems somewhere, some other derg might come by and steal them." Noctis warns politely.

The drake chuckled as she swept the gems into a bag, and quickly folded the table. She then looked back, smiling. “Trust me, I know. Rogues are all trying to survive.” She then eyed him and nodded. “So... where to?”
