Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Haven Fri Mar 10, 2017 6:51 pm

The halls of the Castle were filled with Xoyan royals, Lords and Lady's, and special guests from around the world. Scales glittering brightly in the light, polished and cleaned, jewels shimmering. Today was the day of the Royal Coronation of the New King of the Xoyans. Tables were filled with fresh game, cooked and raw, pastries and desserts were eager to be eaten. The Castle was decorated with beautiful decorations, flowers, gold, and any stunning stone you could ever find. All of the Generals and Armies were pulled from the front lines, all to come home to celebrate the new King. Peace was among the tribe this day, even on the streets of the Empire showed signs of happiness. Dragons selling their best of products, awaiting the announcement of the new King. Since the previous Ruler, Queen Gemini, had not returned or was heard of for many months. Turning into chaos, the streets of the Empire turned to bloodbaths, even inside the castle there was a frantic search for the next ruler. The next heir to the throne was not found, as if the whole bloodline... Disappeared. But that was in the past, the word of a new ruler, and a King was in the air. It was the liveliest the Empire has seen. On special occasions, the Xoyan tribe would celebrate, then go back to their normal lives. The Ceremony would take place in a few days time, for now, the King would arrive soon, coming from his post near the heart of enemy territory. Soon, the kingdom would be back under control of a powerful leader, and celebration was quite needed in the gloom of the now passing storm.

Haven shivered, pulling his warm bear coat closer to his neck and chest. The army had been sent home slowly, station by station until his station was the only station left to leave. Making sure everyone got home first. He spread his wings, making a loud roar to signal the departure from the cold, frigid weather of the mountains. It was stormy, a good whirl of snow hit his face. Taking off into the air, the 30 dragons behind him followed, as a large cloud of black scales ascended above the clouds for warmer weather. The travel would take all day, better get started now.
They crossed terrain quickly, the ground a blur. They were past the cold, leaving his coat back at a lake he could not name a few hours back. The sun beat down on the desert they now flew above, his instincts catching waves of vegetation many miles to go, but they were close to home. His warriors felt it as well, energy surging through their bodies. His enormous shadow sent animals scurrying to their burrows.
They crossed into Xoyan territory, his soldiers yelling and roaring with glee. They stopped at an outpost, a soldier nearly jumping out of his skin, bowing low to the new King. Resting, Haven finally looked to his warriors, proud of their return and their job as protectors of the Empire. He took a deep breath, "And now I say, to go back to your homes and your families, enjoy your time with them, you have all deserved it." They all murmured among themselves, Haven feeling the energy spike. "Let us move on." He commanded, taking to the air once more. An hour later they would find themselves at the entrance to their Empire... His Empire.

As they landed, one by one outside the large gate, heavily guarded, cheers could already be heard, faces in the crowed smiling with glee. The smell of the trees, life, and food wafted from all around him. The large trees that toward over him felt familiar as he looked up at them. He stepped into his Empire, for the first time in years. He looked around, he was larger for his kind, and the crowd slowly ceased their chanting, their laughter, their cheer. Whispers spread among them like a rapid fire. Words of fear were scattered. Some stepped away. Haven was confused, looking to a guard who didn't look back. All of these dragons were pretty, scales shinning, polished, even the guards' scales were untouched. He looked at his warriors who had slipped off one by one, a few happy cries being heard from a far. His long neck swiveled around as he stared at a few faces, those few avoiding eye contact. He kept walking, the city quiet as they stared at their new king. I bet they expected a dragon in shinning armor, smaller, and cleaner looking Haven thought, a faint flutter of disapproval. They now had a good look of what war really was. Broken scales, broken horns and scars. They all began to bow as he came to the bottom of the stairs to the large castle that lay in the heart of the Xoyan Empire. His new home. Trumpets sounded, and slowly but surely the crowd began to chant and sing again.
The King has returned!
The King has returned!

Echoed around him, their voices in unison. The Lords and Lady's waited at the entry way, bowing low. Stepping into the cool and pleasant building, he took in a deep breath, his pockets on his neck, shoulders, and chest whistling loudly. There were many greetings, fake smiles, and greedy eyes. He moved past, even the halls to the castle were cramped with arrivals, from other tribes and his own. He nodded in respect to those who bowed, servants bustling around him, asking him many questions.
"So what's it like having a war?" Asked a mouthy, and quite fat dragon, gold laced all around him, a smug smile. Wine in a golden cup was in his grasp, the color a silvery white. Haven would probably never get used to this, all of these pampered dragons, not knowing what true war was. But that is what he did, fought to protect the dragons that lived in this kingdom, the hatchlings and the innocent.
"Death. Destruction. Maybe I'll put you on the front lines." He said, voice chilled, giving an unsettling smile. The other dragon shut his mouth quickly.
A servant moved quickly to Haven's side, asking where he would like to go.
"Show me to my chambers and I will be fine." He got out, soon followed by a sea of questions. Pushing past the dragons he finally got to a hallway, a spike of excitement running through his veins. To the right, a large opening with gold and carvings lining the wall, a stunning sight that nearly left him speechless. Decorative pictures hung upon the walls, previous Kings, Queens and Nobles were there, strung up with the look of a Royal written upon their faces. His picture would soon be up there. Now this, this room was the most decorated, the most lit up that he had seen so far. This was the throne room. The magnificent throne, obsidian and diamond sat in the center of the room. There were beautiful chiseled stairs that lead right to it. A smile tugged at his lips as the crowd of dragons followed. The large windows letting in sun in vast amounts. He walked up and laid down on the beautiful throne, posing himself nobly, looking down at the many guests. A voice announced him,

"The new King has arrived! The Coronation will be in a few days
after the other tribe guests arrive!"

Haven finally gave in, smiling, tail curled up majestically.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Delillah Mon Mar 13, 2017 1:19 pm

So it was indeed true. A ruler had been chosen, and he was soon to arrive at the castle. No one genuinely knew who precisely this new King was, no other than the highest titled drakes of the kingdom, including her leader, who essentially made her mad by denying her the information, however then again there was little excitement within Delillah. Simply the hope that the dragons within the kingdom would settle down once more, and quit the whining and crying. She had not and would never comprehend why the dragons of the kingdom united to have one giant whining hissy fit as soon as the former Queen vanished. Ought a kingdom not be prepared for such issues? Well, now it definitely was, were it ever to happen again. This, in any case, she questioned. The Xoyans were a tribe that learned from their mistakes, not that she disapproved when individual Xoyans did so. It was after all majority of the time her that had the honour to discipline them, and that was genuinely nothing Delillah Delacroix, the right hand of the Skygger Commander, minded in the slightest. It at last gave her something to do, and enjoyable at that, if not rather dirty.

After months of this pitiful disorder the trumpets sounded, everyone began to sing and chant, and even the sky cleared from it's standard dim mists throwing a shower of sunlight upon the Kingdom. A rather rare display, in any case, it appeared that even the gods and elements approved of the new King, and if she had to care in the slightest, then she would admit that it gave the Kingdom a new grace and a fresh layer of glory. Perhapsan endeavor to conceal the measure of blood flowing through the trenches, however of course Xoya had dependably always been the most eminent Kingdom.

While the curiosity of knowing who the king is gnawed at Delillah, she was no where to be found, not until the King stepped into the castle. Oculus had not yet mentioned any specific orders towards her, considering how busy he was, but the Skyggers knew their place at special occasions such as this, and so did she. Above the ground was a secret passage way spreading all along the walls of the throne room. Hidden within the shadows the passageway was barely visible, and along this sat the Skyggers. They were a lethal and unmoving force. From underneath they would show up as basic yet elegant figures, gargoyles, viewing upon the King.

Delillah strode along them, her matt scales shielding her of any inquisitive looks. No one with the exception of the knowing drakes would be aware of her presence above. She stilled as the new King entered. Her gaze was locked upon him, as he strode with natural grace and confidence towards the throne as if it had always been his. She did not recognise him until he settled upon the throne. She recognised him as Haven, a previous Kommandant of the Xoyan. Curious she thought as someone finally announced him.

Settling on the fact that Oculus would want her visible at some point she left the Skyggers and made her way out of the room through a small exit. While she descended the stairs towards the next level the layer of matt scales withdrew, effortlessly replaced by a layer of polished and glistening black scales. Re-entering through a side entryway, she wore her typical apathetic mask as she gazed around the room, her unique white eyes settled upon the new king for several seconds before they moved onto the guards within the room and then the royals. She would never fully understand why Oculus required her at such events, he knew she had never truly been one for nice conversations  especially not within a crowd of boastful royals. She simply hoped that within the next few days leading up to the Coronation anything genuinely interesting happened, a part of her doubted that. All things considered she will most likely need to find her own specific manner of amusement. With a very inconspicuous smirk she graciously stepped into the room awaiting the arrival of her Commander.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Az Mon Mar 13, 2017 11:32 pm

"Ignicia, Gelus," Azriel said, his voice dropping into a soft whisper but still retaining its usual authority nonetheless, "you are to fetch the other members of your squad, and position them around the entrance of the gate. I trust you know who they are?" Gelus and Ignicia - a pair of twins, one male and one female, both sharing the same matted black scales and keen blue eyes, but completely different in their personalities and temperament - nodded. "As leaders of your squad... I expect you to be the role models. Carry out your task without error or hesitation. Punish slackers, or you'll be the one receiving it." His words held a threat, but his voice was smooth and pleasant, and he met their gazes coolly. Both inclined their heads and turned to scurry off, their bodies soon being swallowed up in the massive throng of dragons. They were leaders of the Outer Defence Squad, consisting of dragons trained to kill at the first sign of danger; most of them were bulky and muscular, like bodyguards, but there were a few stealthy, speedy dragons mixed in.

He then turned his attention to a large male, almost as tall as he was but not quite as lean; he was what you'd call the muscular type, with forearms corded with hard muscle, a bulky body, and hard, hard scales. Literally a walking tank. But he was surprisingly fast for one his bulk, though not as fast as the speedy ones. "Imitius, station your guards around the entrance of this building." They were currently standing in an unoccupied spot, both unnoticed by the dragons surging into the building, whose enormous shadow cloaked the two Xoyans. "You know what to do. Do not disappoint me." Like he did with the twins, he held Imitius's gaze with his cool, authoritative gaze, and Imitius eventually dropped into a bow, knowing exactly how important this job was. "Yes, sir," came Imitius's response before turning and striding away.

Azriel spread his wings, and with a few beats of his wings, he was up in the air, flying past the several balconies that lined the walls of the palace. The balconies were large, large enough that several gargoyles, sitting there as decoration, didn't look weird. Of course, the gargoyles weren't just ugly beasts; they were dragons. Landing on the stone balcony beside one with a particularly regal stance, he leaned towards the dragon, with dark grey scales that faded into black at his limbs, and murmured, "No suspicious activity?" The dragon, previously sitting as still as a statue, inclined their head, just a slight dip of their chin. The Gargoyle Squad - ugly name, but it fit - were tasked to watch out for any sign of suspicious activity, monitor the flood of dragons rushing into the buildings, and also to immediately leave their post and fly into the building should something happen. Satisfied with the report, the General left his perch, taking to the air, a shadow moving across the blue, blue sky.

He flew one round around the massive building, and, finding no slackers, he allowed a pleased smile to momentarily appear on his face before it disappeared, his face once again settling into cool arrogance, the mask he preferred wearing. He landed on the ground, on a shadowed patch, before joining in on the crowd, effortlessly melting into them, being swept away by the current of dragons rushing in. He glanced around at the guards stationed around the rounded interior of the building, seeming like status, for they were so still. No one paid any attention to them, and if glanced at from the corner of one's eye, they would appear part of the wallpaper; amazing how most dragons manage to skip past the important bits, Azriel thought, amused, before returning his attention to the throne where the new Kommandant wound sit. Crafted out of obsidian and diamond, it shimmered as some of the sun's rays reached it, gently reflecting its light like a mirror.

Slipping in between the highly trained guards that lined the the bottom of the stairs, which was, like the throne, chiseled out of obsidian - except that it appeared slightly translucent, giving off a mysterious yet regal effect - Azriel allowed his eyes to roam over the place. Tall pillars held up the ceiling, which seemed impossibly high up. The tall building was several floors high, with a circular gap in the middle of the ground of each floor. Each floor had several balconies, which Azriel knew had his guards perched on. His attention moved onto the guards stationed beneath each window, from which poured sunlight that lit up the building, then was grabbed by the sudden commotion, announcing the arrival of the Kommandant - and his friend. Azriel saluted in greetings, which all the guards in the room mimicked, the ones at his side doing so with perfect synchrony, but unlike the stoic faces of his guards, Azriel allowed a smirk to worm itself onto his face, meeting Haven's gaze with amusement - nothing mocking or sarcastic - in his eyes.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Oculus Wed Mar 15, 2017 12:49 am

(Shorter post cause you guys are crazy XD and I got exams)

Of all the drakes in the entire Xoyan civilization, the Herre of Offense, or rather ex-Herre of Offense, was the once chosen to lead them. It was no secrete that Oculus butted heads with the Offense side of matters, as he always valued a single troop over numerous soldiers. Why waste the resources in migrating an army when you can send in a team of two Skyyger and get the job done in the same amount of time with much less resource and cleanup? The Herre of Defense was at least somewhat reasonable, as they did control a large swath of land, and numbers would be needed to keep a fair shift. Still, the clunkyness and lack of mobility made him view them a step subpar. Maybe his standards were just too high for the quality of troops required for daily tasks.

Completely ignoring the parade of bumbling hatchlings that called themselves dragons that chased after the new leader, Oculus popped into the secret tunnels that led to numerous places, each passage a maze. One wrong turn and a poor drake would get lose, or set of a toxic spike trap. Only the Skygger knew the paths that they walked, and even then only a couple knew all the tunnels and paths. He took the path that's lead to the decorations overhanging the throne room, which had draconic gargoyles apstanding guard. Few knew that at any moment in time, of the many statues, one of them could be a Skygger on guard duty. The previous Kommadant, Gemini, knew of these guards, but Oculus debated if he should even tell Haven, or just let Haven find out one day when something went awry. Trotting along the shadows overlooking the throne room. He rolled his eyes at the fanfare below, and counted four Skygger on duty. More than usual, but understandable as some would want to see their new kommadant from their positions. The rest were probably off duty at the moment. Taking time to admire the setup, of howmthe statues effortlessly glided backwards to,sappers into the shadows, to be replaced by a drake. A smooth process it was, where no one would even notice it less they were staring as it happened, and even then, it would make them double and doubt themselves that they saw it. Of course, the transfers were done carefully when none were looking.

Spotting Delillah down below, he sighed, figuring he would look terrible if he didn't show up and his captain did. Exiting through the tunnels, he eventually worked his way into the throne room and up next to Delillah. "Try not to cut anyone, will you? Nobles cause a headache of paperwork that I don't want want to have to deal with...". Course he knew Delillah wouldn't do anything stupid, but it was a small jest as he watched the new leader, wondering how many of the silly nobles knew who he was when he was not in the silly traditional armor that showed his status.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Imperia Tue Mar 28, 2017 9:34 pm

The most common colours among Xoyan dragons were quite dark, making the silver dragoness feel ever so slightly concerned. She would not be difficult to recognise as an outsider if someone looked at her.
However she also felt quite exotic, it was fun to have a standout colour. She wasn't trying to keep her presence here a secret anyway, so there was no reason not to walk proudly.

Imperia wandered through the crowd, finding high places to walk so that the taller dragons didn't block her view too much. She took a few moments to pick out the new king of the tribe, he had a certain level of grandeur but he did look more like a guard than a ruler.
She glanced up, noticing the statues on the roof. How threatening they were! even the architecture of Xoya was intimidating. Perhaps she should walk on their heads... or perhaps that would be a bit too rude.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Haven Fri Apr 28, 2017 4:38 pm

Haven moved his head and looked toward the open window. He huffed, his smoke enveloping his face, obscuring the outline of his face and neck. His sticky smoke dripped down, landing and dispersing. He was eager to meet everyone, and eager to get his leadership started. It had only been hours since he arrived, and other dragons from other tribes were arriving, he hoped each Royal from each tribe would at least try to attend, so he could visually place a face to a name, and have their face in his forever memory. His tail thwacked the side of the chair, some dragons jumping back in surprise. Since he entered this room, all the guests somewhat joined, wandering in and out. Haven finally got up, swinging his large wings up, the sun lighting the right side of his face, making his eye a glowing ruby.

His neck was arched forward, the sun making it's slow trek towards setting, the room being illuminated with golds, reds, oranges, and yellows. He took a deep breath, looking up and around, the statues that were supposed to stay still were... Well... Moving. Once in a while ruffling a wing or blinking their dry eyes. He smiled, good, protection from above and all around. He gently pushed through the crowd, the dragons bowing and hopping out of his way. Haven turned, having somewhat of a big turning radius. His head went well over the heigh of the other dragons, scoffing slightly. Either he was growing bigger and bulkier or the dragons were breeding small. He nearly ran into a female dragon, her polished scales shimmering in the sunlight. He would murmur his apologies;
"I'm sorry," Haven began, growling rumbled deep within his chest, for someone had stepped on his long tail. The female he nearly ran into came up to about his chest, "I'm not used to being in a room full of nosy and quite useless dragons." The King stated, snarling at a servant who dared come up to him. The slits on his chest and neck expanded as the hiss came out, and visibly, for the female, his insides were seen. They shut quickly, Haven noticing the eyes of the one he bumped into. Odd... Haven thought, slowly beginning to walk away, I never met a dragon with those kind of eyes. As he walked, his eyes were still on the dragoness, then with a small snort, he looked ahead and exited the room, his large footsteps echoing around the chattering dragons.

The smell of food wafted towards his large scent glands. He stepped out into the gigantic hall, tail swishing like a snake behind him, the warning snarl that erupted from his chest a few moments ago, gave him a long trail of dragons parting in front of him. He walked down the hall, large, vast windows overlooking the kingdom to his right, blinding light of the setting sun making his silhouette against the opposite sharp and large. He spotted a dragon with bright scales, but payed no notice, walking past, steps rumbling. He followed some hatchlings that ran about, food being said over and over again. Obviously that's where they were going. Their mother harshly hushing them as she noticed his arrival, bowing low to the ground. Haven turned around another corner with no windows, but a larger area, long tables with gray and red decorations were littered places. Whoever did this half-assed job was going to get a word from him. But, it was not time for the King to eat, he was out to explore the castle. The last time he was here was when he was given new orders on war.

Moving back out into the hall, he could sense dragons following, but in the shadows, he paid no mind, if anything they should be weary of him... Coming to the end of a hall, there was a spiral of staircases that winded up and up and up toward the top of one of the towers. A small window let one see the gardens far below, something that dragons had forgotten about. Dried up flowers, trees with no leaves and dwindling with life. He examined the structure of the window, maybe... He could fit through it and escape the hot air and smell of perfumes. The wretched stank of dragons who pressed too close to each other. He growled, claws scraping the stone, he somewhat missed the war, the scent of blood, the mucky mud and blood mix, just blood in general. He was lost in thought, looking out that one small window towards the dying trees and vegetation. Probably the only thing that was keeping him sane.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Delillah Mon May 01, 2017 6:50 am

Delillah watch the lords and ladies prance around fancy full, laughing and smiling fake smiles with the hopes to impress the new king. It was an incredibly tame and repetitive show and the amounts of time she had seen this made her want to cut of their heads. Simply so that she could watch the replacements endeavour a move in this game of smiles and compliments. Her cold eyes would flicker over the new arrivals, with them a silver dragon. It was not just her silver scales that made her emerge from the shadow hued group, but also her amicable expression. Very few here ever wore friendly expressions. Well as much as you could call the Xoyans smiles friendly.

Her thoughts were interrupted by her favourite and possibly the only bearable lord. Oculus. His remark gained him a smirk "Of course Occy. We would never want you to be stuck in paperwork do we now?" Her sarcastic tone wouldn't be left unnoticed by someone who knew her as well as Oculus. Her gaze wandered over the crowd before it returned to him. "These sorts of occasions are horrendously boring. The other skyggers feel no different, the wannabes in training are the worst. Their persistent longing for their first mission to arrive makes them so hopeful for a traitor in the crowd." Slowly shaking her head a small smile crept onto her visage. "Wouldn't know where they got that fro-" The words were lost as someone bumped into her. Preparing to snarl at the daring one she turned with a frown and a look that would make any other drake back away hastily. The look dropped as soon as she perceived the drake, it was the king himself now looking down at her. How she had missed his rise and attempt to leave she was unsure of. Nonetheless here he stood, holding her gaze as much as she was holding his. Something unfamiliar flickered over his gaze, but disappeared before she could completely make sense of it. Nevertheless she had missed the quiet apology the king mumbled earlier, evoking a low growl from her. His next words, however, stroke her humour. This new king  considered these royals as much as a annoying nuisance as she did. How curious she thought.

Reticent she watched him leave until his temporary personal guards pursued him, beckoning him to return to voice a welcome or something of that kind, to the lord and ladies. She emitted a unusual grunt as she turned back to Oculus "Our new King seems a little flustered wouldn't you say?"  Her tail slithered from side to side as she looked upwards towards two skyggers, a movement between them made her smirk again. "The twins are already wagering on how long he will remain" She stated amused. The skygger twins were one of the first she'd trained, thus the most lethal after Oculus and herself. They were also just as much fun when they accompanied her on missions. She turned and watched with aloof eyes as more guards made their way down the corridor the king left through.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Oculus Mon May 01, 2017 8:15 pm

Watching the new king bump into Delillah, Oculus just glared at the oblivious drake, who seemed to not even recognize him in his self thought. Typical of that overconfident heap of scales to be so oblivious as to step on his own tail and not even realize it. "What an oblivious drake that one is, and to lead the Xoya now.... tch." Following Haven's walk away, he turned back to look at Delillah, and nodded his head to her unfinished question. "They are eager to prove themselves worthy of the title they pursue, to the point that any situation seems like a chance to prove themselves. I swear,
they better not cause trouble or I'll give you the paperwork this time, since you don't seem to mind it.
" He gave Delillah a smirk of a smile, always trying to find ways to rattle her scales. It was not the easiest to rattle the sadistic dragoness, but a challenge was always fun, is it not? When Delillah turned back to talking of their new 'King', he could not help himself but roll his eyes. The rolling of his eyes was just a ploy as he quickly scanned the crowd to gain visual of Haven, and suppressed a small chuckle at the bets going around from the twins, and the flustered drake. "Well, he is quite new and just bumbling around in this bloody crowd. He should have taken charge already and delivered some bogus words to please the fat sods in the area. Speaking of which, why don't you go recommend that he give a speech, harass him a bit for bumping into you or something. Should act really offended or something just to fluster him more before he goes to make a speech, don't you think?" Smiling innocently, he watched their new King jostle around with the color guard behind him. As long as the newbie Skygger didn't jump anyone, he was sure he couldn't get in trouble and be forced to spend hours on paperwork again.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Imperia Tue May 02, 2017 12:59 am

Imperia smiled charmingly at some of the dragons around her, some of whom she'd met before and some of whom were strangers. She spotted a subtle movement on the roof and stole a glance upwards, that the statues were in fact live dragons was almost obvious once you knew what to look for.

She flashed a smile to a dragoness who's blank expression looked like that of someone contemplating suicide, or maybe homicide. Either way Imperia was sure she'd feel better if someone just had a friendly conversation with her.

The new king was leaving, Imperia waited where she was, planning to tag along at the end of the crowd. There was too much tension and general discomfort between these dragons for her taste, power struggles probably a regular thing and assassination actually a genuine fear rather than the almost laughable idea of a Stormcaller leader getting killed.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Haven Fri May 05, 2017 6:28 pm

In the time that Haven was out at war, the missing Queen really took a strong hit on the Kingdom, it was tough, for everyone. But now that he's here, it should make things easier. But was it? His presence only brought relief over some dragons, and he was very much sure some already wanted him dead. For only the innocent thought innocently, and were happy he was back. To command all these new dragons was a challenge, but a good one. He signed up for the potential spot, to be the King of the Xoyans. Giving a soft sigh he moved back toward the bustling servants and other royals. The halls were growing cold, small, fragile dragons lighting torches along the walls. The sun was gone, and now for a time of celebration. Surely dragons would cease to arrive, unless traveling at night was their preferred specifications.

Moving among the crowd again, being stopped here and there.
"So how is it being the new King." Asked a female dragon, puffing out her chest, but her breath stank of wine. Haven blankly looked at her. Another thing he'd run into would be females… Which seemed absurd, for his new status, they'd probably want him to be their mate, for their own selfish reasons.
"I think it's a job only worthy for a few, that's for sure." He said quickly, moving past and giving a huff. He guessed that the dragons had already started eating, plates in their hands, food half eaten upon their plates. He shrugged, why not? He'd been traveling all day and hadn't had a decent meal except for the small lizard he caught while it tried to scurry across his talons. He didn't really have any certain emotion at this point, sorting through the food, picking out dark red meats, deer, elk, and some bear. An advisor strode up, a big grin on his face. He stood there for a moment, Haven glancing his way. He was slim built, but tall, a golden looped earring hanging lowly from his right ear. His eyes were a disgusting yellow that made Haven want to rip them out and squish them.
"Is there something you need." Haven gruffly asked, still sorting out food, "If it's something important speak, if it's not, save it for later." The advisor looked around, playing with his talons before he spoke, quite loudly, attracting attention from guests all around the room.
"The light show is ready for you."
"I never requested a lightshow." Haven answered, finally turning toward the male, calmly staring down at the advisor.
"Then who would have asked? The request came from you." The other dragon asked, raising both crests above his eyebrows. Haven blinked, a light show would be nice, but he… Didn't ask…
"I give you permission to start the light show. Do we still have the magician Kastlar?" Haven wondered, looking around the room, the firelight giving his face a sharp but shadowy look. The advisor nodded, opening a wing toward an elder dragon, scales dimmed with age, teeth visibly missing. Haven dipped his head in respect, this magician had been here even before he hatched. And it was wise to give Elders respect anyway.

Kastlar mumbled quite a few words, face twisted into concentrating. Fire from the lanterns  started to swirl, floating to gather in the center of the room. Haven looked around, again, which he seemed to do a lot, observing. The fire slightly came around, swirling around some unexacting dragons, the crowd beginning to cheer and applaud the light show. Haven watched as well, spotting the female he ran into earlier, the one with the different eyes, and talking to Oculus. Eyes slowly going back to the light show, he let out a slow breath, a deep rumbling followed. The fire streaked across the room, going far up towards the ceiling, then falling in majestic rain--turning into animals that ran around, and even looping around the new King. It finally slowed down, fire going back to it's places along the walls, lighting the torches again. A crown of fire was placed above Haven, illuminating his long horns and spikes along his neck, before dispersing in all directions in a puff of smoke. The crowd cheering with excitement before going back to their own little chats or conversations.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Delillah Tue May 09, 2017 12:32 pm

Delillah chuckled flashing a glimpse of her pearly white teeth. She listened to Oculus, and how very curious she found it that Oculus had no positive judgement of the king. She glanced at him "Now now Oculus, bad history with our darling new king?" Her laugh dropped as he mentioned her wannabe worms and she waved it away with a claw "Oh you know them better than to think they would do such a stupid thing Occy. You know just as well as i that even as fresh meat they learn not to disregard orders." Her white eyes flickered upwards again and even if she couldn't see them she knew where the skyggers carried their earned scars. A smirk spread across her maw and her gaze returned to her lord.

When Oculus mention the new king again she shrugged. Honestly she didn't care much about what he did, she only knew that the crowd was continuing to get impatient, but then again not that she minded. Impatient lords and ladies always meant trouble and that would at least bring her some entertainment, as it always did. Nonetheless, the longer the new king took the weaker he would appear. And no Xoyan liked to be a part of a weak tribe.

While Oculus continued to ramble on about how useless the king was she couldn't help but chuckle again. She found Oculus quite entertaining when he didn't particularly like anyone, a shame he couldn't truly voice his dislike.

In that moment the shadow of the king stretched across the marbled floor as he reappeared from wherever he had fled to. His crimson red eyes appeared to scan the crowd once before he descended towards the banquet. Her eyes weren't the only ones following him, close to every other drake watched him and even some glared at him with challenging eyes she realised. She sat fluidly, her tail spikes lifting and flattening as she nodded along Oculus's speech.
Only too late did she realise what the oh so grand lord Oculus had suggested. Turning her head in his reaction she glared at his fake try of an innocent smile. Oh how she would get him back,  when had she become the nanny? "Since when have i been downgraded to babysitter?" She said annoyed.
Yet when she searched for the king her gaze became intense and her eyes became slits as they settled on him. Well at least she would have her fun, but only because Oculus suggested so. With a sly of a smirk she rose, although before she could make it very far the lights were dimmed and a breeze so light only she could feel swept through the room.

She lowered her gaze as the magic slithered down her neck and spine. Taking a step back she concentrated on her breathing. She felt the fire fly by her and her breathing hitched as pain slid it's way into her head, oh how she hated magic and every drake that could wield it. She would rather have all their heads sliced of than allow them one more second on this damned planet.
As the fire returned to the torches and the needle like pain simply flickered away she took a deep breath. Only when all of the air had left her lungs did she raise her head and along with it no sign of what had just occurred. Without another word she would be on her way. Confidently she strode towards the king without a crown, she had her own ambience that made many drakes look at her. It was often that at occasions like these, where she was no more than an alluring dragoness in the crowd, bountiful drakes stared at her with a mix of desire and confusion.  In any way she simply continued to meander through the crowd effortlessly.

She reached him swiftly and came up beside him as he ate. She overlooked the food carelessly "Why would a king flee before he was crowned?" She said still keeping her gaze on the vast variety of food in front of them "But then again why would a king need to apologise for running into a female" she stated a challenge in her voice as she turned to look up at him. Until now she hadn't truly realised how much taller he was, where she was thin, slender, and stealthy, he was big, bulky, and strong.
A female next to Delillah hissed at her for daring herself between the female and the to-be king. A simple look and the female went silent. "I do not care much, but the lords and ladies are awaiting a speech from the king. I advise you to do it now before they do something usual and foolish, not even a pretty magic trick can keep the wannabe kings and queens still for long." She remarked simply and innocently , her disinterest not hidden from her voice.

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Oculus Sun May 14, 2017 11:32 am

( I apologize, finals and school work and job stuff is killing motivation right now, feel free to skip me over. I'll make a quick post but don't expect much till next week after finals)

Oculus rolled his eyes at Delillah's question, figuring she would have known the history or rivalry between the two of them. It was true that the Skygger trainees should know better than to cause issues, it didn't mean that one of them might cause an issue. At Delillah's obvious unhappiness of the task given to her, he chuckled. "You've always been a babysitter, just with a title dearie." While it wasn't true at all, unnerving Delillah was always a fun goal. He watched Delillah head off to Haven, and worked his way towards the back of the crowd, observing the events taking place.

"Does anyone here actually like each other?"
A smooth voice spoke from behind Oculus. The silver dragoness stepped lazily around him.
"I only ask because you seem to be one of the few who have seized a bit of real power and are holding onto it for dear life." She giggled. "It feels like I've walked into a little private war, but please don't let me interrupt too much. I'm not going to spoil anyone's plans."
She looked at the new king. "He seems nice to me."

Coronation of a King (Open) Empty Re: Coronation of a King (Open)

Post by Haven Tue May 16, 2017 12:43 pm

Haven stood there and waited for the dragon with the horrendous yellow-green puke eyes to leave. He slowly ate, for on the front lines, eating slowly would win the game. Eating too fast, you’d be sick to your stomach, and maybe even an enemy would rip you open. He took a small breath, his chest rose and fell as she looked around, tail flicking. Haven remembered the time of a skirmish, attacking a dragon that was on their territory, and eating their stomach, which was filled with deer and wild boar. He saw the Queen of the Stormcallers stride over to the Skyggers’ leader. Haven never really cared for the Skyggers, they didn’t much appease to his kind of command, but that really wasn’t his choice in to say. IF there were to be a war, the Xoyans would be very thankful for all the branches of the military. The sail on his back extended, flashing with blood, a dark purple pulsing through the membrane of skin.

He scanned over the crowd, it was almost twelve. He saw many dragons snickering, looking at him and then scurrying away. He took a step forward, to go back to the throne room, a female chattering away next to him. He didn’t realize, that the female that was chattering, was chattering to him. He rose both crests above his eyes, blinking as he let the female finish. It was the dragoness that he ran into earlier. His eyes narrowed, iris’ turning into the tiniest slits. He finally turned his body toward the female, for he was facing toward the door before.
“If you knew your history,” Began Haven, voice deep, a growl deep within his words, “The crowning is given at midnight, to set the next day as the new Ruler’s era. It’s a significant sign of renewal of the kingdom, and the Ruler.” He paused, huffing sensing and hearing the challenge in the little one’s voice, “Is it not polite to apologize to a dragoness for running into them? If I did not say sorry, then what dragon would I be without manners? I am not a savage.” The corners of his mouth slipped up into a dark smirk, as the female kept talking. Should he interject, maybe tell her to bite her tongue off? He chuckled at the thought.

His body language held a strong threat, and the energy was directed towards the female. Even if he wasn’t a savage her tone was not pleasing. Lip curling up in displeasure, he realized the female probably didn’t care for him, or his opinions. Dragons wouldn’t start respecting him until he would prove himself. Dragons these days would piggyback on their leaders, but these dragons... The ruthless tribe of the Xoyans needed to be shown who would be ruling, and then they’d show some respect.
“I will speak when I will speak.” Haven snapped, cutting off the female before she spoke another word. “Watch your tongue with me, and maybe I won’t rip it out. I will pick the time to settle these pigs and their flashy jewelry, for the Gods’ sake, you’re talking about them being patient? How about you scuttle back to your “leader” and get some orders not to annoy me. Now excuse me.” He gruffly spoke, some dragons looking over at the two. He didn’t want to be so rude to the dragoness, but did he have an option? He needed to set boundaries to who talked to him and who didn’t. He did want to carry out a conversation, but didn’t dare, after what he just said, and left to the throne room.

A dragon announcing, “It is nearly time for the crowning!”
