A day on the roof of the world (Open Vuaris)

Hyruu yawned as he woke up, the daylight slowly invading his den. It took him a few minutes to get up and slip out of the pile of furs that made his bed and kept him deliciously warm, only to be greeted by freezing temperatures. Out of all the things he had problems getting accustomed to, that permanent coldness was the worst. It had been quite a few years he joined the Vuari, but yet getting up each morning definitely was something he wasn't looking forward to. Hopefully his fur was keeping him warm. It had been a curse when visiting hotter territories, but it was clear it was there for that kind of climate.

Thz grey dragon headed outside his room, entering the galleries the Vuaris were living in. It was a wonder he didn't get lost in that maze yet, but somehow finding an exit was never hard. Following upward, he walked toward the nearest exit, pausing for a moment as the sunlight hit him, slightly warming his fur. The effect was rather heavily countered by the freezing wind that also greeted him. Hyruu walked for a minute and finally found what he was looking for. A nice spot between two rocks that would protect him from the wind. With a small purr he settled there and let the sun warm his body.

Mornings were always brutal, the whole 'waking up' thing was not really his thing. Stretching alone in a crevice alongside the mountain, Shudaar peered outside at the light, feeling the cold wind slap his face. The cold was never his friend, just something he learned to tolerate over his time up in the thin air. Wiggling his rump and pumping his wings to get blood flowing, he leaned out further, waiting for a particularly strong gust of wind. When he felt it, Shudaar snapped his wings out, catching the air and used it to glide up and away from the crevice he had slept in that night. Even though it was darn cold out, flying was an activity that was like no other, being able to float above the ground so many miles. Circling and pumping his wings hard to get a bite on the thin air, Shudaar made a couple laps around the mountain, enjoying the thrill of flight and exercise. After several passes, the chill of the air was slowly seeping into him, and he circled down to a protected side of the mountain. Landing, he began his search for a nice flat rock in the sunlight that would be shielded from any breeze. Hopping up and down the rocky mountainside, he finally found a spot that was open, but a giant fuzz ball was laying there. Being at first upset that the good spot was already taken, Shudaar quickly smiled evilly as he crept closer to the ball of fuzz. Reaching out carefully, he discharged just enough static into the fuzzy dragon to make all their hair poof up and stick out. Laughing and scrambling quickly back up, he slipped on a rock and fell just on the other side of it, letting out an audible 'oof' as he fell on his chest.

Hyruu was enjoying the sun when all of a sudden he felt a shock, his fur going wild. Electricity? He was about to wonder if there was thunder nearby but the quick laugh he heard taught him the weather was for nothing in his predicament. Laugh that ended up in the quite distinct noise of someone making a pretty bad landing.
The grey dragon shook his fur, trying to get rid of the static electricity. He grunted when he realized that it wouldn't go off that easily. Great another day at being a dust magnet... He'd go in for a dip at the hot sources when he would get the chance. For now he just had to check if that other dragon was injured.
Heading out of the crack he was in, Hyruu stepped on the rocks, quickly finding the other dragon. It was a tiny black dragon, in quite a funny position.
"You alright?" the grey dragon simply asked, not feeling like greeting him after what happened.

Belittling himself mentally for slipping during his get away, he grunted and rightened himself as his ears perked up from noise behind him.  Turning his head, he saw the fuzzball looking at him, and asking him if he was alright.  Hmph!  While the extra fluffy dragon did look a little silly, his not so timely trip soiled his little prank.  Lightly shaking the dust off, he answered in a nonchalant voice, to the best of his ability.  I'm alright fuzzy.  Just a slip.". Shudaar was definitely ignoring the fact that he had helped Hyruu become poofier, and was acting like he had no part in it, even if it was blatantly obvious it was him.

Mornings had always been hard for Neru. As a creature biologically structured for nighttime living, she was prone to staying up late at night, despite the need for her to rise early. Of course, hundreds of years living this way had helped her situation, but even now she disliked mornings more than most would. It always seemed the time between her head settling on her nest and the time when the tribe, and therefore she, were starting to stir was only a few short minutes.

It was rarely seen as surprising when she chose to sleep away the entire day when she had the fortune of a day free of responsibility.

Unfortunately, a Chief's job was never done. Her last 'day off' in a sense, was back before her father died. As such, Neru was crawling out of her nest of assorted grasses and old pelts, halfheartedly lightning the little fire pit next to her nest. Her cave was a larger one, given that it had once held her entire family. Over her life, it had slowly dwindled down to her. Even now, though she was so much bigger than she had been as a hatchling, the walls still seemed much too far apart.

She stumbled past the small alcove where she kept her collection, yawning and making her way out  onto the small hallway. It was a short climb up to the entrance of the cave system, and from there out onto the outdoor plateau where much of the activity of the tribe usually resided. Neru spent little time here, only nodding to the few awake members of the tribe and spreading her wings, flying up to perch on the highest rock, the place that often served as a lookout point.

Hyruu let out a huff as the smaller dragon called him fuzzy. It was right that right now he was looking extra fluffy, almost looking like a ball of fur... Damn that static electricity.
But since that small dragon was not wounded, he wasn't going to tend to him.
"Serves you right." was all he said, before turning away from the smaller dragon.
Hyruu looked around, trying to find another spot he could rest in. He saw one near the top of a rock, where another dragon was. He wasn't familiar with everyone yet to realize it was the Vuari leader he was heading toward.
"Good morning." he simply greeted before setting in a small crevice near the top of the rock.

Turning her gaze from the horizon to Hyruu as he landed, Neru gave him a smile. That smile only widened when she saw the state of his fur, well familiar with what the source of that might be. "Good morning, Hyruu." she replied, looking back towards the hallow that was the 'plaza' of sorts, watching as small beings began to move back and forth, getting ready for the day. "I'm surprised, Shudaar usually likes to sleep in a bit." she said conversationally. "It's early for him to be playing tricks." Rarely did she find her knowledge of each of her tribe's members to be unuseful. She kept up on each and every name and ability of her tribemates for the main purpose of being able to better direct them when a battle comes along, but easily being able to see some inner workings, such as occasions like this, made it worthwhile as well.

At Hyruu's responses of him slipping, Shudaar half growled at him, a very unamused look plastering his face. Shudaar gathered himself off the ground, tightening himself and watching where Hyruu bounded off to. Feeling some dust on his back, he shook himself in an attempt to clean som of the dust off him, before climbing the rocky ledge. He did not follow he ball of fur directly, instead opting for a more level and smol rock. Trotting a few feet forward to get a look at who Hyruu was chatting to, he froze as he saw it was the Chief. Fearing that's he was being rattled on, he slowly backed up away from them, hoping he wasn't seen. Forgetting he distance of rock, he took a step onto nothing, slipping and trying to keep himself up as his front paws dug into the rock in futile effort, before falling several feet onto his back with a thud. Thankfully, it wasn't too far of a fall so nothing was seriously hurt.

Hyruu raised an eyebrow, surprised that dragon already knew about Shudaar. Well for everyone to seemingly know him like that already, that small one must be quite the handful...
"Well I certainly wish he slept in." the grey dragon huffed, annoyed. "I'll have to head to the sources before I get all the dust on..." he began.
His sentence was interrupted as a loud thud occurred, and when he looked toward the direction he saw Shudaar laying once again on his back, seemingly having tripped on something. Quickly understanding he wasn't hurt in any way, he let out a half satisfied huff.
"He's... quite the clumsy one, isn't he ?" he asked Neru.

Neru smiled sympathetically at Hyruu, unsurprised by his gruffness. Shudaar was rather good at getting under other's scales, at times. She tipped her head to the side as he spoke, keeping her attention on the furred dragon. Even so, she found it yanked away at the sound of a loud thump, her head reflexively snapping around to look at the source of the sound.

"Ouch," she muttered, wincing inwardly. "He can be, at times," Neru spoke now to Hyruu, glancing once more at Shudaar before deciding he was okay, and turning back to Hyruu."I like to think that its because he's young. Perhaps as he grows he'll come more in touch with how to move in his body."

After that she yawned once more, closing her jaws with a snap before shaking her head. She really needed to work on not staying up so late...

After having fallen, Shudaar quickly got back onto his front feet and peered over. Seeing that they were looking ATM him, he blushed and quickly skidattled away, taking flight once he rounded a larger rock. Embarrassed and scared of the leader, he made sure to fly a bit to the other side of the mountain, even though it was more windy. He'd settle on a crevice, worming slightly into it to take shelter from the wind. He'd later go hunting in the lower worlds, or fishing, or something.

Hyruu watched as Shudaar stood up, glanced at them two and went away - though it definitely looked like he was fleeing away at that point. Well, good riddance. He wasn't needing extra electricity in his fur.
"I hope this goes with the mischievous nature. I'd rather not have to keep a watch on my back when I want to enjoy the sun..." he replied.
The grey dragon glanced at Neru as the leader let out a yawn. That was when Hyruu actually remembered why Neru felt so familiar. Of course, he had forgotten she was the Vuari leader. Well not that it changed anything for him. Hyruu wasn't the kind to particularly fear leaders, considering his past. This seemed a good end to the current discussion though. Hyruu laid his head on his paws, shuffling a bit his now raised fur, and just enjoyed the warmth of the sun.

Neru kept her gaze on Shudaar until he went out of sight. She didn't want to get up, but if he had seemed like he was simply going to go off and bother somebody else now that she was near Hyruu, she would have had to. Luckily, however, he seemed to have no inclination towards doing so. Turning back to the fluffy Onari, she listened to his final statement. After speaking, he seemed to believe the conversation to be over, so Neru made no attempt at further words. Shifting into a slightly more comfortable position, she continued her morning watch, eyes carefully settled on the areas through which enemies might be able to sneak in. Absently, she hummed a small tune, her tail tip flicking back and forth to the beat.

Fate's eyelids slowly opened. He stretched, letting out a massive yawn, and then laid still. He didn't want to get up, absorbed inside his bed of blankets. He was toasty warm in them and hated the idea of moving into the wind and cold air. So he just laid there for a few minutes in silence, appreciating the last moments of warmth. He hated when it got so cold up there. Well, the cold wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the wind. It stung his face and made the edges of his wings numb.

Reluctantly, Fate uncovered himself from all of the blankets. He stood up and scratched an itch on his left leg. Slowly he started to make his way outside. It already seemed like a lot of the Vuari were up. As he stepped out into the open air, he shivered as the wind smashed into his face. It was worse than he thought it would be.

He looked around and saw that his chief, Neru, and some other fluffy dragon were sitting up on a big rock. He flew up there, wishing he could command the wind to stop blowing. "Neru!" he greeted the chief cheerfully. She was one of his only friends right now, and he really enjoyed being around another Nebula Wyvern. She always treated him nicely and always seemed like she was really happy to see him, which Fate took to heart. "How are you this cold, windy morning?" he asked with another little shiver.
