A Kuz'a Too Far (Open) Empty A Kuz'a Too Far (Open)

Post by Sephtis Mon Oct 04, 2021 9:48 pm

Sephtis had returned. And he wasn't necessarily happy about it, not that he was ever happy about anything. Get intel on the Kuz'a. Well that went real well. Especially once the rioting started and the tribe went through three Kuz'a's before deciding on one that they wouldn't attempt to drag into the streets and murder. Sephtis hadn't even been the one to cause any of it. Yet he'd still had to survive the ordeal, and beyond that he had admittedly gotten sidetracked when the initial plan went down the drain. Or rather, up in the sandstorm. It had taken some extreme discipline not to kill a few choice individuals he had been keeping his eyes on, though he had tracked them down. At least now he knew where to go if he was able to get back to Verula on his own time. For now, he had seen enough sand for a lifetime. Being home in the mountains and forests of Shveki was a sort of comfort. A feeling that for some time had been foreign to Sephtis.

For now, the biggest thing on his mind was a combination of his exhaustion and the fact that he was coming home pretty much empty handed, despite having witnessed some very significant political changes... He was tired. The rage fueled, loyalist, ever motivated Skygger was tired. This created a paradox in which he was exhausted, which created anger at himself for being so, but then being too exhausted to care. He would accept whatever consequences came from his failure. The operation hadn't been a complete failure, but the upset had made it so that any intel he had gathered was very general intel on four different individuals. Things that most likely anyone with eyes could have picked up on. He wasn't even sure why he had stayed any longer after the first Kuz'a went missing. That should have been the end of the mission right there. But here he was. Returned to Xoyan territory, ragged, tired, and disappointed. As long as he made it out of this alive, he could make things work. For the first time ever. The thought of simply escaping entered his mind, before being crushed just as quickly as it had appeared. He was Xoyan first. Always had been and always would be.
