The Dawn of a New Sage [VUARI EVENT]
First topic message reminder :
The rushing sound of winds common to the summit of Oblique found its sound broken for the first time in many months when Neru alighted gently on the floors of the Temple Kuwan. She glanced around, widening the toes of her back feet to help her grip the smooth stone of the temple floor. Since the last Sage, Dapple, had died, it seemed even the most rambunctious of the tribe had feared to visit their tribe's most sacred location.
They weren't wrong in their thoughts. Without a Sage, Kuwan seemed fundamentally wrong, in so many ways. It was like a mountain without snow covering its peak. Not to mention, the lack of the familiar stench of herbs, and the door to the inner temples being firmly closed made it seem... cold. Sages certainly didn't live in Kuwan, but the care the past Sage had put into keeping it had always made it seem to feel like a home. Sighing, Neru wandered over to the door, turning and sitting down in front of it. She arranged her body appropriately, draping her wings correctly and curling her tail around her body. This was an important event, and she knew the elder draconiformes of the tribe would have her head if she didn't treat it accordingly. The entitling of a Sage was something she'd never even seen, let alone done, but she'd been drilled well enough on how it was supposed to go. For now, all she could do was wait for the arrival of the council and the Emara, as well as any members of the tribe that chose to attend the ceremony. Though, she doubted there would be a soul that wouldn't show. It wasn't often the tribe threw a party, and when they did, it was something that went all out. There would be time to let loose back on Dufourspitz, however, after the ceremony. For now, Neru straightened her neck, trying her best to appear as worthy of the position she held as her father had.
- Sage Induction Ceremony Overview:
- This ceremony is held on Oblique, inside of the Kuwan temple. It begins the moment the Council has agreed on acceptance of the new Sage, which can take anywhere from a month to months. At this point, the Chief is expected to arrive at the temple first, to host those who arrive as well as proceed the ceremony.
The ceremony itself begins when all or most of the members of the tribe have arrived. In the cases of most, it is often fifteen minutes after the destined start time the tribe will wait. After this point, the tribe gathers in the center of the temple, before the door that leads into its inner workings. The Emara gather at the front of the tribe, before the Chief. At this point, the Emara with the most experience steps forward, and is presented to the tribe while a final recognition to the past Sage and an introduction to the new one is given. At this point, the Chief steps aside, and allows the new Sage to be the first to enter the inner temple since the passing of the last Sage.
Under careful watch, the new Sage lights the temple with their magic or breath attack. Those who cannot light it with either may ask the Chief or a Mestra to light a torch for them, so that they may carry it inside and light the temple themselves. At this point, the "light" of the new Sage has begun, and the ceremony ends. Often, the tribe goes back to the village to celebrate. The Sage may follow them or remain at the temple, but they are expected to have it in working order once more within the next 36 hours. The first cleaning of the temple is done alone, though after which the Sage is permitted to allow the Emara to aid them.

Re: The Dawn of a New Sage [VUARI EVENT]
Hyruu nodded back at Neru as the leader spotted and greeted him. After this, there was another dragon that came toward him, one he had spotted once or twice while resting outside. A dragon not unlike Neru, at the point he wasn't sure whether they were family or it was a mere coincidence.
"Hello. Feel free to." he replied.
He was about to say more when Sapphire finally entered. A smile stretched his maw as he nodded toward her, waiting for her to come over.
But before he was able to chat with the blue dragoness the event began. He watched and listened intensely at Feluxious as she made her speech. Hyruu was fluent in the Vuari language by now, but such a speech was forcing him to stay attentive and really focus on the words. He had not known the previous Sage, Dapple, but judging by Feluxious words they seemed to be a really nice person. He had never heard anyone talk ill about the previous Sage after all.
The speech ended, with the new Sage making quite the display in light. After almost a minute during which no one really dared to make noise, Hyruu turned toward Sapphire, smiling at her.
"Good morning Sapph. Missed the rising sun ?" he smiled at her.

Re: The Dawn of a New Sage [VUARI EVENT]
Neru sat patiently as Feluxious took over the ceremony, admiring the grace and serenity with which she moved and spoke. She had to force herself not to look down as the soon-to-be Sage spoke of Dapple, the love in her voice enough to push Neru towards tears. No, the Elders would have her head if she cried. It didn't matter if others cried, but she was supposed to be the 'rock', as they stated. And boy was being a rock hard. By the time Feluxious moved to step inside of the temple, her nose was twitching with the attempt to keep her face straight. She turned to watch the Sage light the temple, blushing only slightly as their eyes met along the way.
When the temple was lit and the ceremony over, she stood, stretching out a stiff back leg covertly. She could see the exhaustion in the eyes of Felux, though it didn't pervade her movement. Dismissing the tribe with a flick of her tail, she began to wander towards the edge of the temple, hoping to draw the others after her. "Food and drink at Dufourspitz," she called. "Come along!"
((Short post but I'm in the middle of finals, this is what I can do))

Re: The Dawn of a New Sage [VUARI EVENT]
Fate smiled back to the dragon who had greeted him. "Hello," he replied. He was about to say more, but then Feluxious started talking, and he was forced to divert his attention. Fate was very touched by the powerful speech about Dapple. Feluxious kept everyone's full attention, the words heartfelt and passionate. After the speech ended, nobody spoke for a long minute or two before Neru spoke up, telling them to head to Dufourspitz for a feast.
Fate grabbed his soft blanket left the temple with all of the other dragons leaving. He took off and headed towards the mountain in silence. The rising sun was just starting to peak over the horizon at this time, lighting up some of the scenery beautifully.
