Swirling Whirlpool [Private/Arkhor]

Everything was big. Everything was confusing. Everything as empty. And she was alone.

A tiny, confused dragon would swim through the waters, beating her tail, her eyes wide. She wasn’t sure where she was, or how she had gotten here. One minute, she had been safely tucked within a strange room, filled with eggs, and the distant cries of other, young dragons. Next thing she knew, she had smelled something delicious, and had taken off in search of that something. She had made her way around corners, and into rooms with other big dragons, but she hadn’t found the smell. Eventually, she had made her way into a much wider area, filled with funny green things, that tasted weird.

But still, the little dragoness had kept going. She was determined to find the food smell. Unfortunately, the young dragoness hadn’t really been in the outside world before, so she had ended up being caught up in an unintentional current, and hurled far away from the hatchery in which she had been previously situated. After about an hour of looking around aimlessly, the little dragoness was now officially lost.

She had somehow found herself in a kelp forest. Now, she had curled up, and had started to cry, hoping she would attract the attention of the nice dragons that had been caring for her before. Maji had never been in the big wide world before, and so, obviously, she was very confused. She had fearfully coiled around a piece of kelp, and was now whining and crying in an attempt to catch someone, anyone’s attention.

The poor little dragon was very scared, confused, and hungry.

Whosh, as the sound of waves brushed against the sand. The sun glaring down towards a brightly scales blue dragon, seemly sunbathing against the warm sand. Startling as he suddenly awoke, groaning slightly as he felt the heat. Needing the cool refreshing waters ge soon pulled himself onto his feet, sighing as the cool waves brushed against his front paws.

Dashing into a jump he soon submerged into the deep blue, thinking to himself as he felt hunger after his short nap. Heading home Ark knew of the perfect olace to hunt, a nearby kelp forest which homed multiple types of fish. Not many Lakara used such a place due to fearing being lost, luckily for Ark hr knew tricks amd ways to avoid being lost.

Soon enough as he reached the edge of the forest his ears twitched as he heard faint crying inside the forest. Curious he decided to head towarfs the noise slowly, as he grew closer it was becoming more clearer that infact it was a hatchling. Frowning slightly as he knew he needed to find the little one incase they were hurt yet he didn't want to scare the little one. Eventually he gpind the source, slowly swimming towards her as he confirmed it indeed was a small female hatchling. Gently speaking as he made himself known "Hey? Are you alright?" Smiling slightly as he waited for a response.

The poor, little lindwurm would remain in a terrified state, her head held tightly in between her paws, her small, fragile body curled up in the sand. She would cry into her paws, concerned that she would never find her caretaker again, her whole body shaking with fear. She almost wished that the sand would swallow her up. After all, it was dark, cold, and scary where she was now. The kelp forest offered a very thick covered, so it was difficult for sunlight to get to where she was huddled on the ocean floor. Nonetheless, the young hatchling was too fearful to actually go venture somewhere that might hold more light.

She remained unaware of anything nearby. A few fish would come over, mistaking the tiny dragon’s tail, which was coiled tightly around the kelp, as food. They would nibble at it, causing the tiny dragon to cry even harder, completely defenseless. However, her slight jerking would send the fish swimming away, afraid they made the biggest mistake of their life. After all, most normal dragons would quickly gobble them up if they were that close. Not that they were that smart. They just knew anything bigger than them was a potential threat.

However, the little Majesty didn’t know how to hunt. And she didn’t have any natural defenses. So there was no way she’d be able to make it out on her own. However, because of her relative unawareness, she remained completely ignorant when Arkhor began to make his way towards her. No, she didn’t even notice him until the larger Seal was practically right next to her, and she heard his gentle voice cut through the water.

Teary eyes quickly opening up at the sound of another dragon, Majesty quickly peeked over at Arkhor from where she had been hiding her face. She sniffled a bit, looking at him. “A-are you my papa?” she asked. She didn’t really know the word caretaker, so she just called her caretakers her mamas or papas, depending on the gender. Her body was already showing to be more relaxed, now that there was an adult dragon. “It’s scawy! I’m scawed!” the tiny dragon bawled, quickly running up to Arkhor, curling around his front leg.

Raising his brow as the little one reacted and replied, chuckling lightly as he smiled "No.. I'm not little one, but I can help you find them for you" Noticing the hatchling dashing towards him, coiling around his front paw. Brushing his over paw over her form to comfort the hatchling, "Its alright, theres no reason to be scared I can look after you while we find your parents" Slowing swimming back towards the tribe lands, managing to clear out of the kelp forest. "Whats your name little one? I'm Arkhor but you can call me Ark if you want"

The little dragoness would quickly follow suit behind Arkhor, when he began to swim, holding on to him tightly. At first, she had been a little scared when he said that he wasn't one of her caretakers, but that was something she quickly got over when he started speaking to her. He simply had such a calming, quiet, calculating voice, that it was hard for Majesty not to trust him. And why wouldn't she? It wasn't like she had ever been taught stranger danger, or had ever experienced dragons that would do her harm. In all her life she had ever only lived with dragons that wanted to care for her, and brought her very nice things. Well, nice in the sense they were fun to play with. And when you were a hatchling, food and things to play with were pretty much considered living a luxury.

She was still scared, though, even as Arkhor began to swim away from the kelp forest. She remained tightly wound around his front paw, eyeing the fishes and crustaceans that swam by. She didn't start to loosen her grip until she began to see the light. Once Arkhor had navigated his way out of the kelp forest, the little dragoness would poke her head out, looking around curiously. Everything was so much brighter now! No scary darkness, and no creepy forests of kelp, either.

Excited, she'd look up at Arkhor with wide eyes. More calmed down, she responded, "I's Maji!" she would say happily, swimming over and hugging his front paw again. "You big." she commented, lifting her head to try to get a better view of Arkhor.

Smiling lightly as he chuckled from her reply "Yeah I guess I am, though in a few years you will be big too" sticking his tongue out playfully. Using his tail to brush against her mainly to calm her down, "Can you remember your parent's names?" Gazing curiously towards ger as they neared the palace. Stopping outside as he arrived at the nursery, gazing around as he tried to find one of the caretakers. Sighing slightly as it was proving hard to help Maji find her home.

Maji would whip her tail back and forth, smiling wide when she heard Arkhor's reply. She'd be big soon! Would she be as big as this dragon one day? That would be pretty cool, she thought to herself. Maybe she would own the entire ocean when she was big and strong! She would gleefully swim next to Ark, following him as he would make his way back to the Lakaran nursery. She was taking quite a liking to Ark, though that wasn't saying much, considering hatchling could get easily attached to anyone who was nice to them.

Arkhor would then ask her a weird question. Something about parents. Maji smiled, "I wiv with mamas and papas!" she would say, flicking her fins joyfully.

Soon, they would arrive at the nursery. Maji would look around, awing at all the wonderful sights around her. Having never been outside of the nursery before, she didn't really recognize it. However, she did smell dragons that she recognized. She would swim close to Ark, yipping happily.

Frowning to himself slightly as the Maji didn't know her parents names which was fair enough, no doubt she was only a few months old at best. Nodding towards her "Okay lets just check over here.." Swimming past some of the nursing eggs he finally spotted one of the caretakers. Sighing slightly to himself as he swam up towards her, "Ermm.. Hello? I found young Maji out in the forest I was wondering if you know her parents?" gazing back towards the little one with a smile. Using his tail to boop against her snout playfully with the tip.

Maji would swim back and forth, not really paying attention to much, as she would follow Arkhor inside, her tail wagging back and forth. Now she could definitely smell that sweet flavor she had smelled before she had been scooped up by the current. She would excitedly swim a few paces ahead of Ark, stop, and then look back at him, waiting patiently for him to catch up. They would make their way through the nursery, until they eventually came to a room which held a young female dragoness. She seemed to be preoccupied with some eggs.

When Arkhor approached, she would turn around, blinking. When she spotted Maji, her eyes would widen, "Oh, sir, thank you for finding Shaniqua! We've been looking everywhere for her!" the woman would say happily.

Maji would recognize the woman, purring, and run up to her, snuggling her arm.

Petting young Maji, the woman would turn back to Arkhor, smiling. "I'm very sorry for all the trouble.
Gee, the forest? I can only imagine how she got there... Anyway, my name's Taqueil. Young Shaniqua here is an orphan. The nursery has been raising her since she was abandoned as an egg." the dragoness would explain.

Smiling towards them both as he nodded replying "Oh it was no trouble, and you say she's an orphan?" Frowning slightly as he watched the hatchling feeling saddened to hear, since of him similarities with being an orphan himself. "Anyways.. I'm Arkhor, I'm happy to help and glad to have found her" chuckling to himself as he watched the pair, "If.. you want I can give you a hand, you look fairly overwhelmed with everything"

The caretaker would look sadly over at the little Maji, who was swimming back and forth, murmuring about food, before being distracted by a funny looking plant. The caretaker then turned back to Arkhor, smiling again, as if her last emotion hadn’t even existed, “Ah, yes, I’m afraid so, and again, thank you so much for bringing her back. She has always had a tendency to run off, but we never thought she’d be able to get that far. Must have found a stray current, or something…”

The small lindwurm, meanwhile, was trying to attack the plant, only for the leaves to hit her softly in the back of the head, and cause her to grow bored and swim back over to Taquiel. She rubbed up against her leg, purring.

When Arkhor mentioned offering a paw to help, the caretaker looked surprised, “Oh, no! We have plenty of staff working here. Shaniqua just happens to be a bit slippery. But we could appreciate some volunteer work, if it is possible…” she would say, looking over at Arkhor hopefully.

Nodding happily as he replied "Sure I see no issue helping you out with some volunteer work, what would I be doing?" looking curiously towards the caretaker, as he couldn't help gaze towards Maji now and again smiling from her reactions.

Walking a little closer as he used his tail to pet Maji, only to return his gaze towards Taquiel. "So.. when would you like me to start?"

Taquiel would smile, clearly happy with Arkhor being able to help out around the nursery. Just then, the little Majesty pounced on the caretaker's foot, nomming on one of her toes. The sea dragoness smiled, before turning back to Arkhor. "Well, it will mostly be cleaning and feeding.
But what I would like you to do first is if you could go ahead and take little Maji here to the kitchen and prepare her some food, and then take her back to her room to eat. I'll show you where the kitchen and her room are."

The dragoness would explain, before clicking at Maji to get her to follow, and leading Arkhor down the hallway.

Smiling as he replied "Alright, I certainly can do that." gesturing for Taquiel to lead the way slowly walking behind her as he kept an eye on Maji. Luckily Ark wasn't feeling too tired from his day hunting but he felt being with Maji would be a good idea especially with her being an orphan.

The dragoness would lead Arkhor down the hall, showing him the kitchen first. When she got there, she would stop, looking back at Arkhor. "Okay, now, Maji's food is already prepared.
All you have to do is sprinkle some basil over it, and put a few sardines on top. The sardines are in the fridge. It should be pretty easy," she said, then leading Arkhor to Maji's room.

She gestured to the area around her. Maji squealed and rushed over to her favorite bed, curling up in it. There were a few other hatchlings, but it didn't seem like that had even realized Maji had been gone, as they were all either napping or eating.
