Human Haven (Open to All)

Solarlight’s eyes were heavy as he began to wake up, but something didn’t feel quite right. He couldn’t feel his wing or tail, and there was some sort of cloth covering him. His half of the body also felt... odd. It was like it wasn’t him and his Darksky’s body anymore. It was then that he finally opened his eyes, and what he saw shocked him. Where his sister would be, there was some... being. The dragon just screamed, but it didn’t sound like him. The screaming also woke the being up, and she... how did he know she was a she?... started screaming to. Both, however, soon stopped. They heard each other’s thoughts. And finally the being spoke.

”S-S-Solarlight?”

”Darksky? What happened?”

The pair looked down at their body. The cloth covering over them was split down the middle, white with gold trim on Solar’s side, and black with blue and purple trim and Sky’y side. Just like their scales were. Wait! Their scales?! They are gone! All that was left was a pail pelt. It was then that Sky noticed a mirror and, with some difficulty, they walked over to it, on two legs of all things! The pair looked even more shocked. Both had hair on their heads, black for Sky and a goldish color for her brother, and a sort of hood covered Sky. What were they?!

Soba had been laying on the ground sunbathing, as he got up, he looked at what was suppose to be his paws but are now hands with each having 5 fingers, he had been light skinned. He began to panic and ran around, immediately falling over from not being used to having only two legs and both being longer than his hind paws, he took a long look at his body, It was covered in a robe with a hood at the back surrounded by green and white fur on it, the back of the robe having a small spike which shined in the sun's light. "What happened to me?!" Soba thought desperately seeming to look for his tail and the rest of his fur. he wondered what he was for some time before coming to the conclusion of calling himself a "walker" of course he missed his dragon form but would try to deal with this form, he was small, very small actually, only 2'4 he didn't favor his size and stuck a tongue out at himself to show it.

Solarlight and Darksky just stared for a few minutes. They were both still trying to process what just happened. They were dragons before, but now.... The two finally decided to head to the, assuming it lead outside. It wasn’t until Solar went to open it that Sky froze up.

”Maybe we should just stay here.”

”And do what, exactly? We have no idea how to reverse this.” Sky was about to object, but couldn’t actually find a good reason not to go, other than her own fears. The drago.... The woman gave in, allowing the pair to head outside.

Once out the door, the pair found no one, at least not nearby. They decided to just walk as best they could, and hope someone would be willing to help them.

Ugh, her head was pounding.


Athena buried her face deeper in the pillows, groaning quietly. This is the worst migraine I've ever had. And she had had migraines. The mornings after brutal battles? Her head hurt due to the blows she'd sustained to her skull. Dealing with annoying dragons? They gave her headaches too. This was on a wholedifferent level. Cursing the gods, Athena ran her hand over her face and sighed.


Wait, hands?


She opened her eyes. She had a hand! Her head rose off the pillow. Hair! There was hair in her face! Gasping, she flung herself off the bed, flailing in an effort to get away from the strange new limb attached to her body. Her backside hit the ground with a heavy thud and her head smacked against the wall. Athena snarled, but it wasn't her usual, terrifying noise of thunder. It was almost like a cat's hiss.

Clutching her head, she examined through blurred vision her hand. Five long fingers extended from a brownish wrist. Two long scars ran up her arm and disappeared under the fabric that covered her body. She turned her hand over and wiggled the digits, both bewildered and amazed. Woah. What happened? Am I dreaming? She willed herself to wake up, but the pain in her head was far too real.


Trying to stay calm, Athena stood up. She had two legs? Well, she was used to having two legs, but being able to stand on her hind legs alone was a feat. Leaning against the wall for support, the dragon -or former- moved to the mirror that sat in the corner of the room.


She nearly jumped out of her skin. A dark, alien face stared back at her. It lacked the youth and energy of a younger teenager. This face had lines in it, and a familiar scar ran over the royal blue eye. Athena leaned forward, touching her scar with her fingertips. Short black hair tumbled off the back of her head, changing to an electric blue that reminded her of her feathers at the tips. It barely brushed her shoulders. Good. She didn't want it being grabbed in a battle. Her body was strong and lean, muscle lining her arms and shoulders.


Athena felt sick. She placed her hands on the dresser next to the mirror and took a deep breath, closing her eyes. This is happening. This is really happening. What had happened last night? What black magic had changed her into this... creature?

Only one way to find out.


Athena moved towards the door. It felt so weird, walking on two legs without using her wings and tail for balance. Oh, her tail! Perhaps her best weapon! She thought she could still feel it, dragging along the floor behind her, but when she looked, empty air was all that was there, mocking her.

She reached for the handle, turned it. As she opened the door, light beamed into the room and nearly blinded her. The sounds of birds and other creatures assaulted her ears. Hissing, Athena rubbed her eyes, and looked.


Outside.


She stepped out, eyes scanning the area for movement. "Hello?" she called, hands clenching into fists.

The pair continued stumbling around. If they could see themselves, the two probably would have said they looked like day old hatchlings. They were still trying to figure out what happened. How this was even possible! After some time, Solar suggested they should try to use their magic, which Sky somewhat reluctantly agreed to. She wondered why he would care about that right now, but then she thought of something. If they could use their magic, they could use it to help balance themselves.

The pair both tried to use their magic, which brought a glow to their hands in the color of their old magic beams. But soon fell on their back as they weren’t prepared for the kick.

”Ooooow.”

”Ok.Not use to that much kick.” The pair then got up, and Solar noticed another... whatever they were. He? She? Whatever it was, was a shorter then them. Sky looked over, noticing the figure too. They then walked over, but were afraid to say anything.
