Hatchling Event Empty Hatchling Event

Post by Vortex Fri Aug 31, 2018 6:53 pm

Vortex’s head was spinning, round and round it went, giving him a sense of dizziness. How did he end up here again? Who put him up to this? Why was he even doing this? Questions much like these spiraled around his mind as he looked through the list of names for the day. What in the Void was he doing here?! He was terrible with kids, let alone a whole group of them. If there was one thing to give the big scary ancient nightmares, it was children. Everything about them just… gave him chills. For multiple reasons at that. Mostly because the only experience he had with hatchlings was a few minutes with his own, and the rest was more or less sacrificing them to appease… He couldn’t remember who he was trying to please. They probably weren’t important. Not anymore anyway.

The day was still young. Much like the dragons this room was soon to be filled with. Only a few more minutes before parents began dropping off kiddos for him to take care of for the day. Taking care of the children. That made him chuckle. Of all the minds out there, from kind-hearted to vile and twisted, he was not the one who should be in charge of a daycare facility. Something like that just spelled out disaster. But then again, that is what daycare facilities are known for. Chaos and endless headaches.

The room was decorated with vibrant colored paint, as well as decals of butterflies and rainbows. Disgusting, I know. There was a neat box full of toys which looked as if it hadn't been opened in years, and a small structure which would definitely hold a hatchling but would barely hold the weight of his paw. Oh well. Maybe if things didn’t work out he could use them as live experiments. Wait, no, he couldn’t do that. Then he’d have parents after him and… bah. Why even bother. That did leave him a little nervous, however, as he’d never really come into contact with younglings he wasn’t actively experimenting on or murdering in cold blood. Perhaps he’d just have to see how the day went. Hopefully, it’d be over soon. They'd be arriving anytime now.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Solarlight and Darksky Sat Sep 01, 2018 1:11 pm

A pair of dragons, both seeming too old to have young hatchlings of their own, walked into the daycare. One was a battered wyvern with a scar across his neck, and the other was a western dragoness. The pair soon noticed Vortex and walked up to him. The dragoness smiled at the odd looking caretaker as a pair of tiny heads, one black and the other white, peaked out from behind her foreleg. The ness then spoke to Vortex in a calm tone.

"You must be the caretaker. Me and my mate were dropping off these two." The dragoness then lifted her paw to reveal a black and white, two headed pair of hatchlings. There body was split straight down the middle, and each had their own pattern on their sides. The darker colored head quickly hid behind her lighter brother, and the old dragoness just shook her head. "The drogon here is Solarlight. And the ness is Darksky. They can be a handful, but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Also, try to get them to interact with the others. They can be shy."

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Oculus Tue Sep 04, 2018 2:54 pm

Oculus was dropped off down outside, and he would wonder inside without much supervision. He noticed a group of parents was dropping off a two-headed white and black dragon, which confused him as they had two heads and not just one head. Hrmming as he looked around, he saw the fretting adult who seemed like they were in charge. Instead of going up to say hi to them, he began to look around the room, walking around and poking at different things in the room, exploring. He came upon a butterfly on the wall and wrinkled his nose at it as he brought his tiny hatchling claws and scratched at it, standing on his hind legs to do so.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Savan Tue Sep 04, 2018 11:37 pm

Not far behind, a large, imposing Wyverness lumbered gracefully into the daycare, carrying various scars, and great age, but she still seemed more bliss than hardened. A star-like symbol marked the majority of her head, glowing regally and gentally of its own accord, as she looked at the others with dear respect. She spoke in a motherly, sultry tone towards the caretaker.

"Good day!"

Atop her head poked a little nigh-black whelping with quaint markings, his little silver wings caught the light, glowing a bit before he suddenly rolled off the length of his mother's head as she lowered it down.

"This is little Savan, don't worry, he wont cause much trouble than the others." The whelping in question looked around with curious teal eyes, seemingly unafraid of the other figures around the room. She gave the little hatching a gentle nuzzle and assurance before leaving.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Saiya Wed Sep 05, 2018 5:31 pm

Saiya had been waiting outside the building housing the strange elder dragon for quite some time, waiting for him to fall asleep so she could scope the place out for a possible meal. In her mind, most old dragons (which was, at least at this point, anyone larger than her) were susceptible to sleeping for long periods of time. Or at least, that's what she had read in her short time wandering the world as an orphan. In her mind, older dragons were dangerous creatures.

She was quite shocked then, when she observed another hatchling for the first time.. no, two! Three?! Curiosity soon flooded her young mind, her head tilting and causing the feathers cresting her head and neck to brush against the cover of her hiding spot. Not only were there others like her, but they seemed comfortable around those dangerous looking elders. Unable to contain her interest, she cautiously approaches the slowly growing crowd and sits down just out of reach of anyone, ears perked.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Tekirii Thu Sep 06, 2018 6:11 am

OH HOW EXCITING A HATCHLING EVENT! the little creature thought. The little hatchling zoomed and raced around the corners of the city with only one heading in her mind. THE DAYCARE. The little dark rainbow shaded hatchling couldn't believe that the day had finally come. Finally she would meet the others and she could finally make new friends! Tekii jumped above and below, slid from one side to another, and attempted on flying over some large draconiforms, yet failing most times. With a wide grin and too much adrenaline she quickly left the annoyed elders behind, but there was one thing she seemed to be unable to lose. " TEki! Slow down!" The demanding voice coming from above her was exactly that. The shadow moved faster than her, jumping from one rooftop to another, but Teki was not about to let her older sister win the race. She would be the one to greet their new friends.
Or not.
Just a few pathetic meters before the building she was supposed to reach first, the little shadow was suddenly upon her. They tackled each other in a intense play fight and continued to roll uncontrollably down the street towards the building. From within the building one could hear a distinct mix of shrieking, groaning, and huffing growing ever louder until ultimately the two would barrel into the daycare and split at the sudden impact of some figures.
Jumping to her claws Tekii glared at her sister "No fair! You hawd heiwght adwvantage" Deli on the either hand only chuckled and strode past her, poking her butt "You lost, no lying" Teki giggled in response and attempted to tackle her again, but Deli simply dodged smoothly as ever and headed towards the center of the crowd.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Vortex Thu Sep 20, 2018 1:48 pm

Upon the first couple entering with their hatchling, Vortex smiled and waved, relatively cheerful at the moment. The pair seemed nice enough, and their child intrigued him. Conjoined twins. Now that was something he hadn’t seen in a while. He’d nearly forgotten all about how they worked, who controlled what, etc. Although many questions about the twins circled his head, he figured it would be rude to immediately swarm and badger them with all of his thoughts. So, instead, he beckoned them in.

“Solarlight, Darksky.” Vortex repeated as the couple told him their names. He glanced between the two heads and repeated the two names to himself a couple times, memorizing them. “Got it. Don’t worry, I’m sure everyone will be a bit shy.”

Once those parents had left, he began to wonder how many more were going to show up. His employer didn’t tell him numbers, other than his payment, so he was prepared for the worst.
Then, came another hatchling, concerningly without the supervision of a parent or guardian. Perhaps they hated the runt so much as to leave him here, and Vortex could understand that. They didn’t seem so social, which was no surprise, but he had plans for once some more showed up.

“Butterfly.” He nicknamed the hatchling, in correspondence to their interest in the butterfly decal he had hot-pressed to the wall. The name was temporary until he learned their actual name, but he liked the name to the point where he was probably going to keep it anyway.

There was a short break where Vortex was unsure whether or not anyone else would show up, but then his worries were quelled by a wyverness entering.

“Hello.” He greeted them simply, smiling to the small hatchling who accompanied her. “Savan, Savan, Savan.” He repeated, staring at the child until he had memorized their name. At least Savan seemed more friendly than the rest of the hatchlings already there. In fact, Vortex was too focused on the three… four already there that he didn’t notice the stealthy small one sneak into the corner.

Then, a few minutes later, a whirlwind of two dragons barged into the center, rather unpeacefully. Of course, Vortex smiled to them, but with a little less enthusiasm than before, since he was almost certain these two would prove troublesome.

“Hello, welcome.” He greeted, sighing a bit. Waiting for anyone else to arrive, Vortex figured that there were enough small creatures here to start off the day. Reluctantly, he got up, lumbering over to the center of the room and sitting down on a blue, green and yellow rug which was bolted to the middle of the floor, for reasons unknown to him.

“Alright folks, come on over here if you would, please.” He beckoned, making a circular gesture.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Solarlight and Darksky Sat Sep 22, 2018 7:28 am

The two elders smiled, and the wyvern made a hand signal to the two headed pair before both adults nuzzled them and left. The pair cautiously walked in before seeing some of the toys. They each saw one they wanted to play with and bounded forward. The pair then ran into a communication issue, as they both tried to go to the different toys, only to fall over. The pair just giggled at the slip up, and walked to each of the toys to grab them.

Once they got their toys, Sky again hid behind her brother as more hatchlings came in. One seemed to like the butterfly sticker, which got a laugh from Solar. Another dark scaled hatchling didn't look curious, and wasn't scared of anyone there. Sky somewhat un-hid herself to look at this hatchling, though Solar didn't seem to notice him. Solar, at the same time, had noticed a bright red hatchling that had managed to sneak in and stayed away from everyone. Finally, the pair both watched as two more hatchlings came crashing in. It got Sky to laugh along with her brother.

It was then that the big, masked dragon asked everyone to come over to him. Solar and Sky slowly walked over, with Sky seeming to do her best to avoid anyone while not knocking the pair over. They then sat down.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Oculus Wed Sep 26, 2018 9:37 pm

The nickname bestowed fell on deaf ears, as Oculus thought little of it as he simply assumed that the older adult was just naming the thing he had scratched. Of course it was a butterfly, did the adult really feel the need to name it allowed to make themselves seem more smarterer? Oculus could care less, as he had given the butterfly a good scratching, making at least that part of the room more acceptable in terms of aesthetics. When the older dragon obnoxiously called out and demanded them to come over, he huffed and strutted his way over towards the adult, and purposefully sat next to the double header dragon as to make a circle impossible at the angle he had presented himself as he sat. Quite proud of his little shenanigans feat accomplished, he smiled smugly as he waited for the rest of the hatchlings to assemble.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Savan Sat Sep 29, 2018 12:12 pm

The little off-black hatchling looked around with curious, young eyes, looking at every little one there was, then back at the elder. Toys were strewn, but he didn't seem interested, and while there were certain sets that interested him, the elder ultimately called them over before he could make a decision.

He rushed forward, bounding up to the other hatchlings whom were gathering forming a dot, or at least, the makings of a circle, looking expectantly at Vortex.

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Saiya Wed Oct 03, 2018 5:35 pm

Gently snuffling the air, the wild hatchling started to wonder if there was food hidden somewhere.. beckoning.. though she is momentarily distracted by the fact that some had noticed her. She lays her ears back even further and gives the other hatchlings a dangerous look, clearly a fierce creature despite her relatively diminutive size when compared to their parents, her bravery fueled by the fact that most of the elder dragons seemed quite distracted.

She's startled momentarily when the call to gather sounds, and decides to move a little closer and pretend to be the hatchling of one of the elder dragons present in order to not raise suspicions..

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Solarlight and Darksky Fri Oct 26, 2018 6:53 pm

Ngozi slowly walked into the daycare, wondering how the hatchlings would take to an armor clad, long clawed, club tailed drake. Vortex had asked if he could take over, and when he got their, the Swamp Drake saw all the hatchlings sitting in a circle. He looked at them all, not really seeming surprised by any of them. He was old, and he had seen pretty much every way a dragon could look. It was the hatchlings’ demeanors that caught his eye.

The two headed hatchlings, at least was sure they were individuals by their actions, where quiet different. The white one was confident, but the black one was shy. Interesting how they’d seem so different, considering their “closeness.” The next dark scaled dragon he noticed was one who sat at a funny angle for the circle that seemed to have been formed. A trickster perhaps? The othe dark scaled hatchling also seemed quite lively, and seemed pretty happy. The bright red hatchling there seemed to be cautious, but not quite shy like the half of the twin headed ones. He wondered why she was so cautious.

Either way the drake walked up, telling Vortex he could take over now. The heavily armored dragon then sat down and looked at the hatchlings. ”Well, I know it’s strange to have a new caretaker just show up, but I’m going to guess Vortex was going ask some questions. So, my name is Ngozi. What are your names?”

Solar and Sky meanwhile had different reactions to the new caretaker. Solar thought he was cool looking with all his armor and claws, and he seemed to perk up. Sky on the other paw seemed to hide even more, pulling her wing into her side of the body and lowering her head. She especially became nervous at Ngozi’s question. The white scaled male, however, was quick to answer. ”I’m Solarlight.” He then nudge Sky a little, seeming to speak to her without a word. The ness then nervous spoke up. ”M-m-my name’s D-Darksky.”

Hatchling Event Empty Re: Hatchling Event

Post by Oculus Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:00 pm

Oculus was kind of disappointed the other caretaker left, cause he was quite proud of the way he was sitting. This new caretaker seemed to be heavily plated with armor, but natural armor as opposed to what guards wore. He titled his head as he watched the large...what were they called...drakes?.. sit down and peer over them. He puffed his chest up a bit more as he watched the two-headed dragon fumble over their own name, and was going to be extra sure to not mess his name up! "I'm Oculus!" he said smuggly, as if saying ones name deserved to be a smug expression. Beaming a troublemakers smile, his tail flicked back and forth as he then looked over at the next hatchling next to him, staring...intently....without blinking... freezing in place as he stared.

Savan looked at the other hatchlings curiously, watching them shift about in the circle, listening to their names before his came. "I-I'm Savan!" He said aloud, showing a minute hint hesitation in his voice as the hatching next to him stared back... creepily... without blinking... frozen.

He turned he head away, inching from the other haunting hatchling, nervously.

Post by Saiya Mon Nov 12, 2018 5:33 am

Saiya blinked in surprise as the new caretaker arrive, unsure of the stranger and still absently wondering if she could get by unnoticed in order to score some food. She ends up edging towards the back of the gaggle of hatchlings, trying to blend in; each time someone looks at her, she attempts a goofy hatchling face, and when she thinks no one is looking her expression returns to a slightly more serious one. As the new caretaker's settle on her momentarily her hackles raise but she maintains her cool regardless, but quietly eeps to herself as she realizes she may have to actually talk in order to give her name as requested. A shiver of nervousness causes some of her scales to dance when it is her turn to speak, and she pauses for a long and agonizing moment.

"A-ah.. I am Saiya."

Her vocalization seems a lot more broken than the responses of the other hatchlings, hinting at a lack of use and a strange accent. She tries to give everyone a wide smile to make up for any oddness.
