First topic message reminder :

Messengers were going to every Stormcaller within the tribes territory. They made sure to get the important letter from their new king and queen, that was to be given to everyone. The letter simply read:
To all Stormcallers.

As some of you may know, we have been made rulers of our tribe. As such, want everyone who can to come to the palace so we may meet everyone, and discuss some plans.

Sincerely,
Solarlight and Darksky

And old dragoness push the door to one of the palace’s bedrooms open. She looked around, trying to find the two dragons she knew were there. She sniffed the air, quickly noticing the scent of those she was looking for. She finally looked to see a purple tail around the corner. She walked around to find the two head dragons she was looking for, Solarlight and Darksky, and  each reading their own book.

“Good to see you two are keeping up with your studying.” Both twins turn to see the older dragon, and quickly ran up and nuzzled her, with both saying ”It’s good to see you, Yian.” The dragoness looked between the two, smiling.

“It’s good to see you too, my little dragoons. You seem to be settling in well.” Sky just shook her head.

”Not really, but we’re trying.” Solar then looked behind the older dragoness.

”Anyone else come?”

“They’re already in the meeting chamber, my ruler.” The male half just shook his head.

”Please, of all dragons, could you not call us that. It just sounds weird coming from you.” Yian chuckled a bit at the white scaled dragon’s reaction.

“Very well. I must say, the letter I assume you sent to literally everyone near the Tempest was fairly well written.” Both twins smiled before asking the dragoness to head down so they could get ready.

Oculus nodded at the twins, noting big huffy walking off to possibly examine said books, leaving just Azriel who was being stoic and the forever grim Abaddon. He hoped Haven nor Abaddon would cause issues, as that would be terrible for any diplomat, and although the Stormcallers were considered placid, it would be best not to provoke them. Who knew what sort of magic traps they had set up all around the palace? "Seeing all the younglings running around, I am assuming it must be strong magic to keep the books safe." he said, lingering off to see what the twins would do, if there was more to show, or how they would react to the large black dragon wandering off between the bookshelves.

Solar nodded to Oculus, but noticed Havan and Abaddon walking around. Were they up to something? He was about to ask Sky mentally until he saw her catch one of the hatchlings in her wing, wiggling the little guy a bit before putting the now laughing little dragon down. He then noted the move to her. Almost unsurprisingly, Glasoc had slipped in and followed the ruler and son, so the twins were a bit less worried. Oculus the stated that the magic must be strong to keep the books safe, particularly from hatchlings. The pair nodded before Sky answered.

"Y-yes it is. Enough that these books could probably s-survive a fire or war." Solar simply nodded then spoke up.

"But there's more to see than just the library. Come on." The pair then led the group out.

Knowing that focusing too hard on—blatantly staring at—the Rulers would unnerve them and put them on the defensive, Azreyus allowed himself another look around, though this time with less searching eyes and a smaller span of the library covered; he nodded perfunctorily every now and then, whenever he deemed it necessary, to send a signal to the twins that he was listening, with his gaze occasionally wandering back to the subjects of interest with all the naturalness of a casual participant of the conversation, though every move was calculated and carefully controlled in order to paint a lie that he knew they'd want to believe: No, he's not focusing on each and every one of their words with laser intensity, that's why he's looking around, because he's bored and distracted; no, he's not here solely to collect information, he just liked their library very much; no, he is not filing away every important detail that the Rulers let slip while simultaneously assessing Oculus's performance, because he is definitely very distracted by the very wonderful books and nothing else.

While the younger male was managing alright, he was far from polished at feigning casualness, not when he asked questions like say, where else do you keep your books? Some hidden safe? though the Rulers were at least wise enough not to divulge the answer that both of them—Azreyus, Oculus—sought. He thought that the Stormcallers seemed to rely very heavily on magic, and it could easily cripple them if it could be taken away; the question now was whether they had a source for the Xoyans to strike at should there be a need for it.

"Magic, magic, magic," he spoke up then, pleasantly enough, but there was an edge of feigned disapproval that the twins would be able to hear. "We Xoyans prefer to use our own paws as magic is generally known to be dangerous, unstable, and susceptible to nullifying abilities. So why do you Stormcallers put so much faith into it? Isn't using magic from several individuals dangerous as well, in case one day they are too weak to further contribute magic?"

Either they do not know, or there is a source they believe to be strong enough to support whatever causes they use it for.

He listened as they said, the books could survive a war, and thought, Bingo, for that was precisely the answer he was hoping for. If the books could survive a war and the Xoyans claimed it before the Stormcallers took them away, it would, of course, be beneficial, provided that they weren't intentionally destroyed first.

(So sorry for delays. Have motivation lacking and working late shifts recently)

Oculus tilted his head as he watched the feminine head speak, her voice wavering as if he still terrified her. He didn't respond to them as Azriel eventually spoke up, seemingly to bait the twins into revealing some sort of information. He would neither interrupt nor interject, simply following the twins as they led them to a new area. He made sure his talons remained off the floor as to not make much noise when walking, a habit he picked up from training. Any sort of hard flooring, especially in a quiet area, would ping off talons that touched them, alerting all to a presence. Smiling innocently and happily, he stayed a few paces behind the twins to not run into them if they suddenly stopped to respond to Azriel.

The twins both gave Azriel shared looks. Looks that conveyed a bit of confusion on their part. They looked at each other for a second. Who was going to respond to that and how. Solar finally shook his head, answering Azriel with a slight smirk.

"Well, it doesn't sound like you have a good base knowledge of magic. Maybe you Xoyans need to look into it more?" With that lighthearted comment out of the way, the pair led their guests down the halls and into the training rooms. Sky then looked back.

"Th-these are the tr-training rooms. It's where w-we hone our sk-skills."

A condescending remark - perhaps the twins weren't that oblivious as he'd thought, after all.

"So you say," he countered coolly, returning the smirk. "Yet we Xoyans know enough, at least, to not rely so heavily on something as unstable as magic." A subtle implication that it didn't apply to the Stormcallers, for all they supposedly knew about magic. But it seemed he would have to seek out answers somewhere else, though doing so wasn't strictly necessary, seeing how the Xoyans would triumph anyway, magic or no.

In response to the training rooms, he only lifted an eye-ridge, noting how few there were.

Two Rulers for One. (Open, Stormcallers.) - Page 4 Empty Re: Two Rulers for One. (Open, Stormcallers.)

(i'll post)

Haven's lips curled up with distaste. Flames flickered from his tongue as he inspected a book that seemed ancient. He ignored most of the comments the new rulers were saying, for they were irrelevant, and without doubt probably useless. Magic was well known to be extremely dangerous in most situations. Even though he was a well practiced magic user, even his powers came at a great cost. Eating at the soul of his until there was nothing left. Haven would sometimes blame the magic entirely for eating his soul and leaving nothing but a corpse. Haven snorted, his red breath slowly crawling up to the ceiling, obscuring his face from the others.

Abaddon rolled his eyes as he picked up a book. Narrowing his eyes at the paper folds he whispered one word. "Ixen." The book lit upon the moment the words escaped his mouth. These were no normal flames, flames of dark magic enveloped the book. The crackle and pop could be heard around the room. A talon sank into his shoulder, it was his father. Haven's iris' slits of controlled chaos, but glowing with a fiery rage. Abaddon quickly spoke a word, "ehis..." And the fire ceased to exist. Fortunately the book had no damage, not a surprise to Haven for the twins already enlightened them on such magic that protected them. Haven leaned closer to his kin, "You test your limits like that again and there will be far worse consequences than death." Haven would hiss through his teeth, letting go of his son's shoulder. Abaddon shook his wings, shivering slightly as his father's words echoed within his head.

Haven flicked his tail, what a show his son just put on, thankfully, the twins had already exited the room, along with his generals. Haven followed swiftly after, knowing his son would follow. Unknown to others, Haven didn't want to show the enemy his son's powers. Even though Haven's powers were known throughout the kingdoms, Abaddon was not allowed to show his.

The twins both looked at Azriel, and Solar nodded and spoke again.

"It is true that the Tempest had a high cost. One advantage may be we have more dragons who's species are magic reliant, like me and Darksky's." The Sky then looked at Haven, gulping a bit. She was really uncomfortable around him, but at least he seemed nice enough. Abaddon still really creeped her out though. She then nervously asked "Do you have any questions Haven?"
