The day was hot, scorching hot to be exact. The sand radiated immense heat, some would think it felt warm and nice, and others would still shrivel up and die in any shade they could find. Clouds dotted the sky, large and fluffy. Weather conditions were perfect for flying, gliding around high above the barren desert, a soft breeze took place within the sky. The sun was going to set soon, the sky exploding into color, reds, blues, greens, oranges, yellows… A beautiful spectrum of vibrant colors and the dragons of this region still had plenty of time to converse with their friends. An oasis filled with crystal clear water welcomed animals of all kinds to its cool waters. It was large and deep, expanding to 50 meters in every direction. It was a hot spot for predators and prey, usually having peace, drinking their fill, and wadding in the cool liquid.

This was a smaller lake, not upon the maps yet. Trees lined the shores, green plants had an astonishing difference from the plain, and same colored sand and gray rocks. Animals called to each other, a soft haze on the horizon from the heat. A shadow momentarily blocked the sun’s rays, a swooshing sound following it closely. A dragon had come into the vicinity, shooting an alarm to the creatures that were peacefully minding their own business. Dragons did not follow the little peace treaty the normal animals held, being the lizards of the air. The animals let out an uneasy sigh as the dragon seemed to be moving on. The dragon banked left, it’s building speed picked up as it started to beat it’s enormous wings, reflecting the sun, it’s scales shimmering brightly. It sped through the air, the animals squealing and scattering in fear. The dragon landed, leaves bursting into flames about 15 inches from the dragon’s hide. The dragon roared a challenge, it was a Nordic Wyvern, it beginning to stride forward on her powerful wings and back legs.

Her scales looked as if they were on fire, but underneath the crossing plates of bright scales. She moved to the edge of the water, its small waves pattering against the pebbles that reached out to the green plants.  The dragon snarled some animals never have seen her kind before, especially a dragon with only two legs and long neck and tail. Horns whistled through the air as she momentarily threw her head up, scanning the area for danger. Leaning down, her long, majestic neck extended, dipping her muzzle into the welcoming coolness, an instant sizzle of evaporation began. The water didn’t exactly hurt this wyvern’s snout. It rather tickled. She was a big dragon, especially for a dragon type that she was. After she had quenched her thirst she moved out into the open, spreading her wings and started to soak up the sun. The blood of a lamb lined her maw she had just eaten before she had moved to this watering hole, the blood burned upon her vivid, slightly stained red, teeth. She had not seen another dragon for a long time. Or, she just never got out of her cave often enough. Her blazing colorful eyes opened as she heard her name, like the wind, soft, quiet, and among the other animals.

“Sonus, the Deathbringer…” And this was repeated multiple times from many animals. She guess her name was known far and wide. She swiveled her head around, bored with the chatter that ran through the scenery, even though she could not see the hiding animals. “Yes.” She announced irritation within her words. “I am Sonus, the Deathbringer.” Gasps went out, animals starting to move away slowly. She roared suddenly, turning her body, “RRRAAA!” She said, a big evil grin appearing on her face. Animals fainted, or ran away into the not so welcoming hot sand, screaming with terror. Her laugh erupted from her open maw, filling the air. Sonus’ tail flicked up in amusement. Sonus never really knew if she would see another dragon, she had passed a group of dragons, most likely from a tribe. Her thoughts took her to back when she lead a small band of dragons. Laying her head upon the smooth rocks, she closed her eyes, finally relaxing.

The small reptilian had been walking forever. He had never been on this arid, dry, hot climate before, and thought it would be perfect to study. He took a drink from his canteen of water and looked down at the map he had been sketching. It was scraggly and poor, but it would get the job done, he hoped...

Pyrrhus took a look around. In the distance there were some jagged crag rock faces sticking out from the sand like short towers. He knew if he wanted to stay alive he'd have to get there. This was the wrong place for him to be... He needed a cold climate and not the hot desert. This would end very poorly for the reptilian as he saw his canteen was out of water.

Stress slowly began to take over. The realness of the situation settled in. The reptilian began to slightly panic. He realized just how tired he was... How dehydrated he was. He needed more water fast, shade at that. If he couldn't managed to get these things he would die, and he knew that very well. Pyrrhus began to run, at first oriented and steady. Soon after however this began to turn into a tiring, clumsy gait.

He managed to make it to what appeared to be a sort of pond of water. It held tress and plant life around it... Was he imagining things? He must be... There were other animals and a dragon... What was this... Why would they be out here, Hell, Why was he out here. The clumsy dehydrated reptilian was about to walk down to the oasis, but what he didn't see was a rock.

Pyrrhus tripped, sliding down the sand a few feet. He panted, his eyes and throat dry, his head dizzy and confused. Struggling to get back up he soon fell over, exhausted. The little reptilian felt warm on the sand... The sun felt pleasant, not buring like it did before. He was tired... Only a few minutes of sleep... No... He had to keep going! But alas, he laid there. Not knowing the critical state he was in. His body let him lay there unconscious in the hot sun. To him he was sleeping, but his body knew if he didn't cool off and get water soon. He would be dead by the time the sun set.

Meetings (Open to All) Empty Re: Meetings (Open to All)

Sonus sighed in relief, the animals stopped talking and it was peaceful one again. She moved her body, slightly curling up in a ball. The water, splashing upon the pebbles, rocked her into a sleep. Insects buzzed around, instantly burning to nothing as they tried to annoy her. The animals, slowly coming back, one by one, cautiously moved to a safer spot at the water's edge, away from the sleeping dragon. As Sonus breathed, spurts of flames were released, the normal functioning body systems preforming their job. Animals were once again chattering away, birds squawking, shaking the branches as they lifted off into the sky. The sun slowly moved towards it's resting place beneath the horizon.

The sky a brighter blue, colors filling it like a painting. Sonus slowly blinked her eyes open.
Mouth opening in a yawn, she displayed her sword long, razor sharp teeth. Standing her wings opened up, to their fullest, neck extending and a sigh of pleasure coming from her vocals. She slowly wandered to the water, dipping her nuzzle down, drinking once again. She heard sand being pushed down a hill close by. She perked her head toward the sound
What is this?
Moving toward the sound, she peeked around the trees, not really on alert. Sonus' irises' were contracted, the day slowly turning to night. Her own scales were glowing, fire visible under her scales, as if projected on them. Sonus took a deep breath, advancing to the little figure that lay upon the sand, not even in the shade. She growled, how did this little thing get here? Turning back, she dipped her enormous wing into the water, steam raising in great amounts. Lifting up, grunting with effort, Sonus managed to pull up a huge wave, splashing onto the little dragon. The water a series of disturbed, waves splashing angrily up onto the rocks. That should surely wake and cool down the little dragon

"Hey!" She said, voice loud, "You need to wake up. Or else you'll die and I'll have to splash you again." Sonus looked around, a hippo moving away, unstable on the now wet pebbles. Launching herself forward, a roar of the kill echoing the area and for miles all around, long neck extending, open mouth wing claws pointed forward. Dirt, rocks, and other debris were thrown in the air as she pushed her body toward the animal. Tail flicking against the ground, it gave her even more momentum, body stretched out, covering ground quickly.

She reached the hippo in two long strides, the hippo screaming with fear.,tackled the hippo, large amounts of dust pooling everywhere. Latching onto it, teeth burning large holes into the hippo's tough hide. Blood splattered her scales, her eyes narrowed in the moment of the attack. She roared again, tearing into the flesh with her claw. She swung her neck around, throwing the hippo to the soaked dragon. It landed, dead, and with a large crash and snapping of bones. Why did she just bring it over? If Sonus did, the food would have been burned to nothing, and no food for the little dragon. Walking back, large smile on her face, Sonus lay down, a safe distance from the little dragon, awaiting it to wake up.

Pyrrhus, now semi conscious felt the ground vibrate. He lay there with his eyes closed, feeling something large getting much closer. Suddenly water was splashed onto him, his fur became wet and cool. He looked up a bit, the sun burning into his eyes as he tried to make out whatever it was. It was large... A dragon... It had to be.

But there was no time to waste, dragon or not be needed water and shade. Straining his every muscle he slowly began to drag his weakened body to the oasis. He got over to the cool clean water and practically dropped his head in, drinking rapidly. His body began to regain its strength as it absorbed the water. He splashed some over him and moved over to the shade of one of the trees. There he leaned against the tree.

The reptilians weak body now felt a lot better, but he was far from moving for a while. He could hear the dragon attacking something, but couldn't see what it was as he slumped over onto the ground, his vision blocked by his bag of gear. All he could tell was there was the crunching of bones from some large animal.

Pleasant thought, knowing you were smaller than it...

Pyrrhus continued to lay there for some time before sitting upright. The dragon had a hippo in their maw. He slowly moved to fill up his canteen again, drinking more water and pouring some on his head. The thought crossed his mind of what would the dragon do, but right now it didn't matter. He knew if it were hostile there would be no escape from the beast, so that was out of the picture.

He watched as it stood with the hippo some more. It was intimidating... Rather terrifying actually... But he'd need to keep his cool for a bit while he got better. There was no way after all right now that he could do anything besides lay here and get rehydrated.

Meetings (Open to All) Empty Re: Meetings (Open to All)

Post by Guest Sun Nov 27, 2016 7:36 pm

She tilted her head at the little reptilian thing. She huffed, white smoke billowing out of her mouth. Her tail twitched, "Well." Sonus said, "You should actually sit up and eat. Or else you're going to DIE right in front of me then I'll eat you!" Sonus moved her body towards the setting sun. Her heart beating the fire throughout her body slowly. She sat again, with a thump, tail flopping onto the ground, dust being scattered. She slightly slumped over, waiting, watching the sun go down. She smiled, "There will be monsters soon!"

She got up and paced, watching the reptilian thing drink water, laying there like the limp little thing he was. Her talons dug into the dirt, she now was glowing, and sticking out among the dark like a sore thumb. Her sister loved the dark, and Sonus wished she could blend in as well as Silhouette. She growled lowly, watching the hippo slowly gather flies. She dipped her own snout into the water, making sure she stayed a good distance away from the little creature. Her tail caught some bushes on fire, which didn't seem to mind her. The animals were gone, most likely to their little dens and little families to tell the tale of the fire Wyvern that came to the lake that day.

Sonus gave a big, exaggerated sigh that left the air around her hot, sticky hot. Any flies that were buzzing around where... Well.. Scorched. The stars were beginning to pop out, one by one. The moon slid up, peeking over the horizon, on the other side of the world. This was a time of where strange animals would emerge from the dark, and maybe even try to eat the poor little reptilian thing that lay helplessly at her feet. She smiled softly, watching it gasp for air and drink it's fill with water. Resting her head down, near it, she let her eyes bore into it, inspecting it's every breath, every blink of the eye. She was bored, and she could have moved from this site a long time ago, before the warmth of the sun vanished and the moon's soft glow hit the sand particles.

"If you're awake I hope you know I was joking about eating you. You're not my type anyway..' Giving a wicked grin she fell silent, her eyes glowing brightly, reflecting off of the ground. Her chest lifted and fell steadily, eyes watching a tiny beetle scutter between them, simply terrified of the big presence she gave off. She wedged the tip of her tail between two rocks, flicking them back and forth until they tumbled away out of reach. She groaned, too lazy to get up and get them again. She wanted to know who this reptilian thing was. And she wanted to know... Now.

Pyrrhus watched as the sun began to set over the horizon. Soon there was the soft glow from the dragon as it radiated heat. However with the sun now gone it felt much, much better as the temperature began to drop. The reptilian now hydrated began to get up, then the dragon spoke.

'Eat me? Monsters?' He froze dead still. 'What kind of a place is this...' He drank some more, making sure to be ready for what was to come. So many possible scenarios, such ill preparement. He made a mental note next time to prepare more for situations like this were recourses seemed to dwindle and he couldn't hide.

Suddenly they spoke again, splitting the silence like a thunderstorm with its deafening sounds. They weren't going to eat him... Or were they lying... The grin gave Pyrrhus a sickening feeling as he stood up, leaning against the tree. There was no escaping this terrifying beast of a dragon, it was as even kings themselves would bow their heads to such a creature.

He watched them start to flick a rock back and forth. Should he speak...? Or would that be rude...? the reptilian didn't know what to do at times like this. He decided it would be best to just stay silent and keep to his own devices until they asked him another question. Slowly reaching down to the pack next to him he opened it, taking out a knife and partially carved wood. The wood itself was starting to take the shape of a bird. Pyrrhus started to slowly carve at it, his work lit by the large fiery dragon.

Every now and then he'd look up at them. His face showed fear and respect of such a creature. Hopefully they would get the idea that he was just waiting for them to speak... and he certainly hoped they didn't think he was rude. That... That always ended more than poorly...

In Character Post
Man, was this temperature unbearable! This was the only thought that was going through the young Xash's mind as he wandered the terrain, his wings spread open, allowing him to be lifted high into the sky and sore over the sea of sand. He wasn't quite sure what had compelled him to fly this far, as he normally stayed on Shveki, where the temperatures were more predictable and cool, as compared to Verula's constantly hot downpour of sun beams and sandstorms. In fact, he wasn't even quite sure why he had come here at all. Maybe it was just his desire to explore.

He let out a sigh, as he glanced out and over at the rolling savannah, his melodious wing beats soothing him into a state of tranquility and rhythm. It was really peaceful out here, at least. He hadn't seen another dragon in a while. Verula was much bigger than Shveki, after all. But.... some of Verula was completely inhabitable, even by desert dragon standards. His flight might be more enjoyable, if it weren't for the fact that his entire body was jet black, and he could feel the sunlight burning into his scales like the fire of the very dragons that lived here. He needed to find somewhere to cool down, and quickly.

Swooping down, the night fury began to arrive closer to a spot where he could search for a place to cool down. His eyes scanned his surroundings. It was starting to become quite dark out. He eventually found an a small patch of trees, and let out a happy sigh, flying towards it. Finally! He could relax his tired muscles for a bit. His stomach growled, reminding him of just how hungry he was, causing him to let out a slight growl of irritation. If only his body didn't so easily become weakened. The flight hadn't been that exhausting, had it?

Xasheski swooped down, got a quick drink, and decided to lay down in the shade, leaping up into a tree, so predators wouldn't find him, and curling up. However, the young night fury was not aware that nearby, there was a rather powerful stormcaller, and a mysterious little lizard like creature that could communicate like a dragon.

Sonus scooted closer, her fire scales emitting more heat than she thought.
"I'm talking to you!" She growled, unquestionably irritated now. She puffed flames towards him, the little reptilian creature that he was, reminded her of the over grown King Lizards that roamed these parts. The ones closest related to the fire breathing dragons that could soar through the skies. She had learned that from an old dragon, passing by that didnt seem to fear her presence. They had chatted for weeks, Sonus learning lots from the old teller. He soon described large lizards, King Lizards was the name he gave them, and how he got the scar on his tail.

The old dragon chuckled, "No no, great Sonus. They wouldn't dare come close to your scales. If I were a King Lizard I wouldn't even dare." The old dragon gave a grin, teeth missing. Sonus shrugged, curling her tail up, "I know for a fact that I never want to get bit. From your description they looked scary, acted aggressive and a lizard to stay away from! " The old dragon burst into a chuckle, his scales vibrated with laughter. His gray scales and growing gray hair flicked in the soft breeze.
"I wouldn't think anyone would want to threaten you. You're too nice to be attacked." Sonus gave a shy grin, looking to the ground, it burnt to ash and blackened. She laid down, by the fire she created to keep the elder warm.
"If that was the case... Then why are dragons terrified of me?"
"I think they're too shy to approach you my dear. "

Sonus blinked back to reality, the next day, she had found the old dragon dead, passed away in his sleep. She had dug a grave for him and mourned, one of the only dragons, and an Eldest, to give her time to talk, and to show kindness. She shook her head, "You know, little reptilian thing... There are these really big lizards out here that could eat you." She huffed again, itching the back of her head with her long talon, "That's half the reason I'm staying to your aid." She turned, hearing some kind of wing beat, to her far left. Either it was a bat or bird of prey... Or another dragon.

The stars were out and the moon shown brightly against the dark night. It had cooled down incredibly, and the sand had a nice warm feeling. She snuggled closer to the ground, something splashing in the water, and the little reptilian carving away at wood. She was always envious to those who could touch, who could feel. The fire was the same brightness as her eyes. The sound she heard earlier, she looked over at some underbrush, her eyes glowing in the night. She chuckled, thinking how terrifying she would seem, glowing in the night like a sun, to burn something or... Someone to the ground.

As Xa would slurp up the last of whatever he could to drink, he would lift his head, letting out a satisfied sigh. Finally, after all this flying through the desolate wasteland of this place, he had found somewhere he could come to and simply calm his nerves. That being said, now that his only focus wasn’t on getting a drink, he suddenly became more alert, looking up, his ears twitching a bit, as he glanced around. Now that he thought about it, while he was flying through the forest, he could have sworn he had seen something very bright and shiny.

Maybe he should stake out the area before he gets too comfortable. Yeah, that would be a good idea, he thought with a confident nod, raising his head up. He decided flying would be too risky, so, using his masterful tactics of disguise, he allowed his small, jet black body to blend into the darkness, as he began to follow the scent of what appeared to be scorched wood, unknowingly heading towards the direction of the fiery temptress stormcaller.
