Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
First topic message reminder :
Storm felt the beat of his heart in his chest as he walked. The desert sand felt unpleasant underneath his talons. It suck in between his talons and bugged him. Why did he even join the Ki'Sha in the first place? He had that thought a lot. It was in the literal worst place in all of Nuira. The desert. It was TOO HOT and made everything feel as dry as a bone. He just had to keep in mind that this MIGHT be temporary. He had to figure that part out once Daydris was gone and he had Sarah again.
Oh, his beautiful daughter. How he missed her. He tried not to think about her, but it was inevitable. It felt like a piece of his heart was missing that nobody could fill. He shoved the thoughts away that maybe she wasn't alive and kept walking. He searched the faces of the dragons in the tribe, trying to swallow his hope in case it was false.
There were rumors that a new dragon had joined the tribe. A pure white dragon. An ice dragon. Why would she join a tribe in the desert,
though? his mind nagged. She's more vulnerable to heat, since she is an ice dragon. He pushed his legs forward, wondering where she would be.
There. A flash of white. Was it her?
"Athena!" he called out, knowing that he would probably look like an idiot if it wasn't her. By this time his heart beat wildly as he tried to find her.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
Hearing Storm shuffling around, Athena twisted her head around to see him snatching up a satchel of some sort. Taking a last glance at Ayato, she strode towards the door and stopped next to him. For a moment, she stared out into the distance, debating on what to say to him. "You really infuriate me at times," she whispered to him, her eyes sliding back to peer at his face for a moment. Then, she opened the door and stepped outside.
The light breeze was a nice break from the humidity as she stood out in the desert. The storm had wafted away, leaving a clear blue sky above. Her wings itched to be spread. Feeling a presence next to her, Athena shifted her gaze to Storm as he produced the bracelet. She gazed down at it for a moment before she said in a quiet voice, "Thank you."
She snapped her head up to look at Ayato, who had shifted his attention to something else. "Let's go," she said, in a sharper, louder voice. She took a step to the side to give Storm room, and spread her wings. The muscles in her shoulders flexed as she flapped them once, then twice, leaping into the air on the third beat.
The air currents took her upwards as she angled herself diagonally at the clouds. The wind in her face was a calming sensation, a wonderful break from the hot ground. The grains of sand were pulled out from in between her scales, and Athena smiled, feeling less sticky now.
She leveled out into a steady glide, taking a glance behind her to make sure the two males were behind her. She looked to the right, able to see the Ki'Sha's city in the distance. This is it. Athena took a deep breath and made a slow, drifting turn to the left, and towards the Etcan Mountains, which were just beyond the horizon. On a different continent, maybe, but they were there. It was just a matter of getting to them.
(Should we have a time-skip? Or do you guys want them to be attacked while they're flying or something? XD)

//SORRY I HAVEN'T REPLIED TO THIS YET! I will later today when I can! Just thought I'd inform you guys!
Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
// As I said, I have replied today. It is 23:30 but I still reply because I love you people.
Storm's eyes sparkled when Athena thanked him in a quiet voice and he gave her a small, almost embarrassed smile. He knew she was a warrior and tried to be fierce and everything, which made him happy that she accepted his gift. He just thought it would be a nice way to remember each other when they were apart, since he treasured their friendship so much.
He looked away, gazing at the sky. It was hard to look at anything without squinting; the cloudless sky was too bright. Another thing he hated about the desert. The always blinding landscape that gave him pounding headaches. Combined with the extreme heat, it could give him one heck of a migraine.
"Let's go," Athena said, hardening her voice. He watched her flex her wings before pounding into the air. Storm flexed his wings and, in one jump, took to the sky. He hated that there were no trees or large hills or mountains to hide him from eyes when he was in the desert. He felt too exposed to the Ki'Sha and any other dragon that looked in their direction.
So, they were finally going to do it. After all this time. Take down their most dreaded enemy. With his best friend by his side...
And Ayato.
Storm would just have to keep a close eye on him to make sure he was on their side. But besides that, he would just enjoy his last adventure with his icy sidekick. At least for a while. He was determined to not make it the last time they would ever see each other. That would be too much to bear. Their fates had a way of intertwining with each other's, anyway.
No need to think about that now. Just enjoy your time with Athy and stay focused.

Aw, Storm ^^;
Athy, I dunno, you can just decide that on your own. You're our leader xD --
Ayato shrugged in response to the comment that passed from Athena's lips, but didn't respond, merely looked away and stretched his wings, the delicate membrane between his wing joints lifting upwards slightly in the breeze that picked up. He was, oddly enough, feeling quite emotionless, yet drained of energy at the same time; perhaps it was fear of the unknown, unhappiness with Athena being with some lowly Ugfei, maybe he was wondering about his family, or it could just be one of his moods.
Ah, the wind; fingers of coolness stroked his head, gently flowing by his wings, draining away the heat gathered under his scales, helped him drift forward effortlessly in flight. The intimidating structure of the Ki'Sha buildings rose from the sand like deadly rocks, and they turned away from it, towards a path that he took rarely, towards the Etcan mountains.
What would they find there?

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
//Awww ^_^ We love you too! *hugs*//
The Regima Ocean was vast and beautiful, a seemingly endless expanse of water that gleamed under the roaring sun. As Athena flew about fifty feet above it, she had the urge to get closer. After all, it's not like they could do much anyway. Besides, her increasing anxiety was starting to show in her body language, the way her feathers would twitch and twist as she thought of Daydris, and what he would look like. That, and the idea of facing her family again. I have to be strong and confident. I can't let them see me like this.
So, without warning, she sighed and tucked her wings into her sides and dove away from the two. The wind screamed in her ears as she split the air with her speed, resembling a white arrow as she fell towards the sea. Soon, she could see the white forth of the waves, the roughness of the sea's texture, and when she got dangerously close, she opened her wings.
She pulled up with a 'whoosh,' the sea spray splattering her body, turning her tongue salty. Taking a deep breath, she gazed down at the deep blue, unable to see beyond the surface. Taking a glance up at the two males, she ducked her head under the water, taking a deep breath as she did so.
She could see a school of fish darting through the water, the endless blue slowly fading into black. The abyss sent chills down her spine, and she found herself unable to look away. Watch where you're going! She jerked her head back out with a soft splash, tossing it back as she did so. With a beat of her wings, she rose about ten feet above the water.
She only heard the rustling of the wind before talons slammed into her back, and she was in the water.
Bubbles distorted her vision, making it almost impossible to see the dark face peering down at her. Realising she hadn't taken a breath, Athena started fighting back as they sunk below the surface, the light of the sun quickly fading as the sound of the water filled her ears. She clawed viciously at the dragon's belly but he was protected by some sort of armour.
Athena's attacks started to weaken as she tried to breathe, water splashing down her throat as her nostrils flared, turning red. She let out a weak, raspy growl at her attacker, beating her wings in an effort to get him away. Water dragon..
Above the water, Storm and Ayato would hear the beating of powerful wings as a gang of six dragons of various colours approached in a formation of an arrow. Snarling and hissing, they lunged at the two. Unlike with Athena, they wanted to kill these two.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
// *Hugs back*
As they passed over the beach and over the Regima Ocean, Storm forced himself not to roar with delight. It was so different from the desert. The sea breeze, the salty air, the sparkling ocean below him. It made him so happy. For a few moments, the thought of having to face Daydris left him, and he smiled with delight. He watched as Athena got closer to the water.
He dove, tucking his wings into his sides and looking like an arrow shooting through the air. He was pointed diagonally at the ocean to help the impact. He shot into the water. If he wasn't underwater, he would have laughed. It felt so nice. He felt like all the stickiness and the sand was washing off of him. His body felt more refreshed and he felt more himself than he had in a long time.
Just as he was about to come back up, he saw a splash not far off. Athena was fighting a water dragon and she was struggling, not being able to breathe. Daydris found us! He jumped out of the water, taking a gulp of air and spreading his wings, trying to reach the spot where Athena was faster.
Before he could reach his friend, though, he felt powerful talons claw into his back. He roared in pain, which quickly turned to anger. He turned in the air to face his opponent, trying to blast the dragon with a sleeping orb. He dodged it barely, but it distracted him enough for Storm to catch up with Athy. With horror, his eyes went wide that there were five more dragons not far behind the first, there to kill him and Ayato, he was sure.
He dove back under the water, seeing Athena and the other dragon struggling. He pounded his legs and wings, the pressure of the water in his ears hurting. He finally reached them. He wouldn't be able to hold his breath too long. He was an air fighter, not a water fighter. He clawed at the water dragon, trying to hurt him enough to loosen his grip on Athena. He couldn't use his sleeping orbs down here underwater, since the powdery mist would just dissipate.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
Y'all and your gigantic posts... Mine are tiny lmaooo --
The landscape below them rippled and shifted, bit by bit, as the seconds traisped by, morphing into minutes that soon neared into an hour's worth of travelling. His eyes, ever watchful, wandered to behind him occasionally to check for anyone who might be following them; but he found himself focusing more on the landscape around him - the sky that peeked out in blue winks between wisps of white drawn across the sky, the windblown sands below him that soon ended and was replaced by the sea. A great basin of blue-green, it seemed to never keep still, shifting under your gaze as the light skipped over it, little ripples of water turning the sea into a substance that oddly, looked both smooth and rough at the same time. It was fascinating, dark shapes darting and racing through the frothy waters as the creatures home to the sea swum and explored.
Athena, without warning, dove down, an annoyingly bright blur of pale colour. Goodness, she wasn't even looking out now? She seemed to have fun having her head in the water, and Ayato wondered what she saw there, but there was not much time for his thoughts to wander, because suddenly, dark shapes at the edge of his vision drew his attention, and he spun around just in time for a dragon to barrel into him, wings shoving into his face. He reeled back a little but managed to keep aloft; with a snarl lifting up his lips to bare his teeth, he bit at the wings smothering his vision, ripping it into shredded pieces that earned him an agonised yell. The wing fell away from his vision, and a tail was already whipping into his face, its bladed tip scratching down his face as his tail slid around his attacker's neck, the metal there slitting the life out of her. Blood streamed down his own face.
The female's body fell away from him, (one down!) and he spun to see Storm diving down after Athena, who was being held down by another male. He wanted to help - needed to, but if he went over, what use would he be? He was better off defending Storm's back - only hoping that he would be able to defeat the rest in time.
His scarf had daggers concealed underneath, and had been designed to be able to hold those. Three on each side of his neck, equalling six; which was why he always folded his scarf in a particular manner. It wouldn't be nice to have daggers biting into your neck if worn incorrectly, would it? He drew out two, one held in each paw, the curved metal extending from the gaps between the claws of his paws; it shone, polished bright, but it seems like it wouldn't be staying clean any more. There was another two dragons chasing after Storm, and he flew fast, barrelling into them; he shoved one away with a kick of his legs and twisted to hurl the knife into the dragon's back with all his force - the part of the spine that if hit would paralyse.
It hit its mark, cleaving apart scales of misty grey to burrow into its target. The dragon froze and fell away, landing next to Storm with a heavy splash. Ayato felt claws close around his neck, digging in hard enough to draw blood, and he made a choking noise, his tail curling about the male's leg and stabbing in as hard as possible, warm blood flowing out of the wound. The claws loosened ever so slightly as a yell erupted from the male's throat, and Ayato's paw came up, the one that wasn't holding onto his remaining dagger, and pried the fingers off from his neck, snapping one backwards to break it. The dragon snarled in furious pain, and his grip fell away; Ayato flew off with a desperate beat of his wings and spun around in midair to meet his opponent's gaze. The dagger left his paw, burrowing into the dragon's open mouth - where a fireball had been gathering.
The dragon fell away with a choked gasp, blood streaming from his mouth - and he dove at the dragon in the water. The two other dragon that came at him both went down with daggers in their necks as he dove down to Athena and Storm, a dagger already in his paws, another wound scarring down across his mouth and a dash on his chest.
Was he too late? They were both thrashing just below the surface - he could reach them.
He hovered above the water and his tail wrapped around Athena's neck to jerk her head upwards. It was a rough move but hopefully would give her air, as he dropped down into the water with his claws already closing around the male's neck.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
//YOUR POSTS ARE DELICIOUS! //
Burning.. There was a fire in her chest, red hot and agonising as her lungs were filled with water. Her back legs were still kicking, but they did literally no damage to the water dragon as he dragged her towards the surface. She was going to pass out. She was going to be taken back to Daydris and be used as a slave for the rest of her life to feed that thing.
Of course, that was probably the plan before Storm dove into the water.
She barely heard the muffled splash as he hit the sea, but her eyes locked onto him as he descended towards them. The water dragon's hood had pulled back slightly, revealing a face destroyed by battle. He let out a snarl and turned, lashing out at Storm while keeping a hold on her. "Impetulant lizard!" he snarled, still dragging Athena to the surface.
Suddenly, a tail snaked past the water dragon's head and wrapped around her neck, yanking her above the water, flipping their positions in the process. Bright light blinded her and Athena gasped, vomiting up water as her wings rose above the ocean, beating frantically as she tried to get in the air. The loud splashing and drifting of the waves disorientated her and almost caused her to panic.
She looked down, saw the water dragon clawing at Storm, and then Ayato's talons were around his neck and he was choking, desperately clawing for the surface. She floated there for a moment, spluttering and coughing up buckets of liquid, before she dove back down below the surface.
The dragon glowered at her, at Storm, wiggling and worming as the light began to fade from his eyes. "Un sevith, Deoogon!" he hissed weakly, voice muffled as if he were any other type of dragon trying to speak underwater. Athena's tail snapped forward, plunging into his chest almost silently.
The life in his body faded, and the male went limp. Letting out her breath, Athena looked at Storm and pointed to the surface, before she swam upward, clawing through the water with quick strokes.
SPLASH!
There was just open sky above her, and Athena took a breath. Spreading her wings, she took to the air, sea spray falling off the ends. Raising her head, she looked around. Nothing. No more dragons.
(I have NO idea what I'm doing with my writing -______- this is all over the place XD)

// You call that post tiny? XD
Storm's lungs were starting to feel like they might burst as he clawed furiously at the dragon underwater, all the while trying to dodge his opponent's blows. This dragon was much more agile and swift under here. Heart pounding and adrenaline rushing through his veins, he struggled to keep the water dragon busy long enough for Athena to escape.
Finally! Athena was yanked away by who he hoped was Ayato. During his couple moments of the dragon recovering, he flailed frantically for the surface. He gasped as his head broke over the water. He took a deep breath before diving back down. He realized with confusion that all the other dragons had disappeared from sight. Had Ayato taken out all six dragons?
He got back under just in time to see the dragon struggling in Ayato's talons, which were around his neck. The water dragon growled something incomprehensible before Athena abruptly shot her tail through the water, sinking the sharp end into the enemy's chest.
Storm almost choked on salty water. She didn't have to kill him! He hated seeing a dragon, especially by his best friend's talons, die. They had souls, too. That was the part that hurt Storm. All of them had a backstory, they all had lives. You couldn't see into their hearts. But he believed that every dragon had good somewhere in them.
He suddenly felt anger and frustration towards Athena. He shot her a "We need to talk after this" look. He swam to the surface, jumping out of the water and stretching his wings out, ready to fight anyone opposing them. There was no one. That's when he noticed. Six bodies floating lifelessly on the surface of the water, staining the blue expanse blotchy with dark red blood. He stopped himself from dry heaving. All this death. It wasn't right.
Athena jumped into the air shortly after. "Why did you kill him?" he said, almost yelling. "He was another dragon, just like you and me! Killing is only a last resort. For all you know, he could have been forced into hunting us down!" He looked down at the dead bodies.
A moment later, he lifted his head, looking Athena straight in the eyes. "If we kill dragons like this," he said in a low, dead serious tone, "then we are no better than Daydris." He let it sink in for a moment. He didn't say it in a mean way, by any means, but it was the serious, hard truth.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
Nah, I was referring to my previous posts. EDIT: Fyi Ayato killed five not six, lol. --
In the water, it was hard to see. Duh, of course it was.
Ayato's eyes were straining furiously to remain open even as water blasted into them; it stung like hell. The enemy was a misshapen object that gave off the impression of being enormous, with its long horns and dark scales forming a layer over a body that thrashed hard in the water - very much like a darting shadow that moved before you could actually register what it was. You couldn't exactly tell its size. This illusion was helped by his inability to see in the water without feeling uncomfortable, but he lashed out anyway, his claws wrapping around one of its horns and breaking it off surprisingly easily - brittle?
Meanwhile his tail remained wrapped around the opponent's neck as his breaths streamed from his maw in bubbles, and his consciousness was draining away from him with each second that he remained in the water. He would die here, wouldn't he? Locked in combat, with a water dragon, fighting in his opponent's domain - but his other move had allowed Athena to burst above the surface of the water - so beautiful once, now so deadly, yet another foe to defeat - and gulp in sweet air. Ayato's wounds stung in the water, an uncomfortable sensation that waved over his face, his body, as the male sputtered a curse, dragging in his last breath, before Athena's tail slid smoothly into his chest.
Just like his dagger did, Athena's tail blades plunged through the male's chest almost effortlessly, splitting apart scales and thudding into its mark, altogether a swift process. Ayato's world was spinning into black, but with all his might he surged towards the surface, bursting out with a wet, choked gasp, water falling from his maw in a literal stream. The water sparkled, as if winking mockingly at the seer, displaying how deceivingly harmless it could be.
Ayato made a weird noise and spat up more water, his wings splayed out around him. He was sodden and half-choked by water, yet did not seem too beaten up. He blinked his eyes rapidly and shook his head, water droplets flying from his head, as he snapped at Storm, "I see, so we were wrong for killing dragons who were intent on killing US... Ha, I think they cared about our souls too!"
Then he looked around. "I recall I took down only five, where's the remaining-" and his sentence was answered as one of the bodies floating on the water moved and sprang into action, one rising into the air, icy shards spitting from their maw into Ayato's face as they wrapped winds around his neck, meanwhile both barelling into Athena and Storm.
Ayato let himself sink into the water and the winds vanished, but the shards - some managed to arrow into their target before their movement was slowed by the water. One stabbed into his wing and he snarled in pain, another biting into his paw, two barely missing his neck.
He couldn't stay there for long, though...
He pried the shards off his body and tried to ignore the pain as he swum away from where he'd sunk, hoping that Athena and Storm would keep the opponent busy.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
Storm was agile and fast, dodging the dragon's attacks with frantic precision. However, this male was born and bred for the water, he could stay underneath far longer then they could. As her tail speared his chest, Athena felt relieved. Another enemy down.
Bursting into the air, Athena spread her wings and took to the winds, arching her neck as she rose high above the water. Twisting around, she gazed at Storm for a moment, before she gazed down at the vast pool of red that was accumulating in the water. Her talons clicked as they clenched together, and Athena pulled away to give Ayato space as he hovered near to her.
Her falcon eyes would narrow at Storm's words, her teeth clenching as her tail would lash with indignation, blade winking in the morning sun. "Cheers, Storm, and here I was thinking you valued my life over the lives of killers," the malice in her tone was sharp like a spear. She felt a pang of regret, her chest tightening as she hurled the words at her best friend, but she was angry and upset. She glowered at him with dagger-like eyes. "Forced to hunt us or not," she said slowly, casting her gaze briefly at the corpses that were slowly beginning to sink beneath the waves. "He would have killed us. Or, at least killed the two of you." She turned her head away from Storm for a moment, cheeks puffed up.
Ayato was frustrated too, snapping at the smaller male. Athena felt like reprimanding him, but then she'd be hypocritical. Instead, she remained silent. That is, until his sentence was interrupted by a flurry of movement as one of the bodies came to life, bursting out of the water to shoot ice spikes at Ayato. He collided with Athena and she spun out of control with an angry snarl, barrel rolling for several seconds before she came to a steady hover.
Glancing at Storm, Athena tucked her wings into her sides and dove down to the water, pulling up just short of the surface. Seeing Ayato was moving, she twisted back around to swing her tail forward, firing six shards at the dragon, hoping Storm would do his thing and dart around him to confuse him. With a beat of her wings, she left Ayato to his own devices, trusting him to take care of his own tail, and launched herself at her opponent, aiming to collide with him and claw his face into oblivion. Her eyes were glowing in anger, tail lashing behind her.
If he was a part of them, he was to die. She wouldn't hold back.

"Cheers, Storm, and here I was thinking you valued my life over the lives of killers."
Athena's voice dripped with spite as she glared at Storm. Her words and the way she looked at him made him feel like the wind was being driven out of him in one hit. It felt colder than if Athena had stabbed him with her icy tail-dagger. He was taken aback in shock for a second, before Ayato made a remark similar to her's as well. He ignored the other Ki'Sha, looking at Athena, who had turned her head. He swallowed, not allowing anger to take over.
"Athy," he said seriously. "If we kill other dragons as easily as they or your uncle could kill us," he paused for a moment, wondering if he was going too far. No. It had to be said. "what makes us better than the dragon we are trying to defeat...?" His voice faded into almost a whisper as he said those last words.
He looked away, not wanting to look at Athena's unfriendly face any longer. Why did it always seem like he was alone in this unforgiving world? He suddenly felt exhausted as the adrenaline wore off. He realized that blood was running down his sides and into the water. He suddenly felt pain on his back and remembered the dragon that had clawed him there.
It was now turning into later afternoon. He wondered if it would be wiser to go back to shore and wait until tomorrow to continue.
As he waited for Athena's answer, he saw a blur of movement from the water. A dragon flew up suddenly, and he snapped into action. He saw Athena shoot shards at the opponent, and she looked at him. He realized what she wanted him to do. He flew at the dragon, zipping by with quick strikes to distract him.
The shards sank into the dragon just as Athena jumped on top of him, apparently planning to claw his face off. "ATHY!" he yelled. "Don't kill him! We can still get some valuable information out of him!" He really hoped that she would give him mercy so that they could at least talk to him.

Tiny posts be tiny. Sorry. >>" --
Ayato could feel his strength draining away with each minute he spent in the shifting waters, weakness enveloping his limbs, his body, but he showed not a single sign of it, though annoyance flared from within him; he channeled the emotion into strength that he used to keep afloat, though some of it stained his tone, turning his words into an angry snap. Storm was being an idiot; and Athena seemed to think so too, voicing out his thoughts more coherently than his sarcastic sentence, which, much to Ayato's growing irritation, was ignored by Storm. He was beginning to dislike this dragon as quickly as his strength was falling away.
The bodies lay still, clasped in death's embrace as they slowly sunk beneath the surface, except for one, suddenly bursting forth from the water in shimmering froths of blue, which flecked the sky; the dragon herself was a magnificent hue of the sea's deepest hue, of blue and green and touches of silver like glittering metals. Not only was she a wielder of wind, but ice as well? He sunk into the water to avoid to winds that attempted to grasp his neck, to squeeze the air out of him; much to his relief, their tight hold swept away as water rushed in, hungry for a new prize to claim.
As bubbles filled his vision, his eyes drifted closed; he would never say that he regretted joining them, but Ayato thought, rather hazily, that he did have some unfinished things he should've done - but no. He could live - and would. With a weak cough that sent more salty water onto his tongue, he leaped into life and burst out of the water the way the female had done. He was a mess, blood leaking from his wounds and stinging from the salty water, which he coughed up, veering round to join the battle.
Some of Athena's shards fell into the female's wings, three barely missing her forehead, and to her credit did not yell in pain, even as Storm zipped by with quick strikes that drew droplets of blood, merely used a strong gust of wind to easily swat him aside as she dived down to avoid Athena's lunging claws. She was clearly the best here; and Ayato wondered how she'd managed to keep out of his notice.
He dove towards her and he saw her attempt the same maneuver, her eyes flashing downwards as she dived, only to have her face slapped by his tail. She twisted around to bite it, except that there was metal that dug into her mouth, and she released her grip. He was pulling his tail back for another strike, but ice shards spat from her maw to pierce into his wings, just as another gust of wind sent him into the water, laughter breaking from her lips.
He hoped, as he fell, that Athena was right behind the female, and would take the opportunity to strike then, and he tried to summon a sarcastic remark to throw at the female, but water gushed into his mouth and down his throat...
The light above him winked and vanished.

Re: Bond of Power (Private with Athena)
For a moment, Athena looked at Storm, and her heart, no matter how cold it was, suddenly melted as she realised how hurt he must be. For a moment, her eyes softened, but then they hardened again as he spoke back, a determined look on his face. His words suddenly.. Sank, into her head, absorbed by the intelligent mind. She picked each word apart, deciphering the sentence and trying to think of what to say back, but she couldn't. Her expression had gone grey, her own version of 'pale.' Storm turned away, and her heart ached with guilt even more.
Then, they were interrupted, and battle had to be done.
It was as Athena drew closer that she realised the dragon was male, and rather pretty. Annoyance was the first emotion that approached as her spikes zoomed by, inches from her forehead. Rage filled her as her talons closed around mid air. Flaring her wings, she spun around, livid that her attacks had been centimetres away from being successful. The idea of ripping out her throat was rather appealing to the female, but then, Storm spoke.
His words enraged her, but she knew he was right. She didn't give any indication she'd hurt him, and instead tucked her wings into her sided and dove down towards where Ayato and the female were battling it out. As she closed in on her target, her eyes narrowed.
Then, she knocked him into the water, and her world, for a moment, darkened.
Ayato.. No! Shock washed over her like a wave at the sight of the strong male entering the water again. She remembered how he'd come back to her in the sandstorm, and for a moment felt sentimental. A low growl came from her as she outstretched her talons, wanting to kill this female, but Storm was still right. The idea of torturing her for information was suddenly more appealing then outright slaughtering her. Flexing her talons, she aimed to slam into her back, dig her talons tightly into where the bones formed the 'fingers' of her wing, and clasp them tightly to her sides, and bring her head forward so she could use her jaws to clamp her mouth shut. It was a difficult move, required precision, perfection, perhaps too fancy an idea for what was happening, but Athena had no other choice.

// I'm so confused!!! Is there one opponent or two? XD
As he finished his last sentence to Athena before looking away, Storm noticed the slight look of realization on her face. She looked... pale, if that was possible for an IceWing.
Once the dragon started attacking them, everything was a blur. Once he had yelled up to Athena not to kill him, he realized Ayato fell into the water and seemed to have blacked out. He tucked his wings into his side and dove into the water as straight as a bullet taking in a deep breath before holding it. He swam under Ayato and pushed on his back, making sure to keep his head above the surface. He beat with his back legs as hard as he could to keep them afloat.
After what seemed like a while of doing this, both his lungs and his legs were screaming in agony. He desperately hoped Athena would come soon to help him get Ayato out of the water, hopefully carrying him back to shore.
// Sorry, short post, but not knowing how many opponents there are kinda changes how you write it lol.
