Personality and the Basics


Name: Artemise Rynnuria
Gender: Female
Type: Western Dragon
Species: Carisa Mondoriuh - Western dragons are known for their ability to manipulate ice and snow and withstand subzero temperatures.
Age: 440
Date of Birth: February 18
Personality: Artemise has a tendency to rush into things in a headstrong manner, which often gives others an impression of bad-tempered bull who others stay away from, but she is actually a pleasant dragoness to hang out with, though she can get whiny or sulky at times. She is outgoing, unafraid to approach others for help, and is enthusiastic and friendly, albeit a bit too playful or rough at times. She welcomes new ideas different from her own, and won't get all snarky and sarcastic just because she wants to have her way.

Unlike most ice dragons, who are known for being coolheaded, she has an extremely hot temper that is easily triggered, and often she lets her emotions get the best of her. Even the smallest of things can trigger her annoyance, but her temper can die down as quickly as it flares. She doesn't forgive easily, though, and will hold grudges, but it actually depends on how badly she has been offended. She is rather vengeful as well, and will never forget a grudge until revenge has been taken, but she never turns down an apology.

Tending to be rather defiant as well, she will purposely go against someone's orders if she dislikes them. She's sarcastic to snobbish dragons, elders who demand respect...generally to every dragon she dislikes, or if she starts in a really bad mood. Artemise, however, can act immature when she's irritated, but it's usually when she's feeling sulky after being told off.
Hobbies: Artemise loves visual aesthetics, and as such she paints a lot, occupying most of her free time with this activity, which she claims is relaxing. It is a way for her to let out her emotions, as words, she feels, do not convey emotions as effectively as colours against a canvas does. She also practices aerial maneuvers that are completely impractical in battle, but is lovely to look at nonetheless; the compliments she receives are also a bonus.
Likes:
- Being praised. She thirsts for attention, and who doesn't like a compliment?
- Making and admiring art. As mentioned above, Artemise is particularly fond for visual aesthetics - not just paintings; sculptures count too, and she can spend hours appreciating artistic works.
- Being in the sky. She loves the feeling of the cool Kaamil wind against her scales. Enough said.
Dislikes:
- Show-offs. She has very little patience for them.
- She can't handle criticism, not because she's very prideful; rather, because she's insecure and she takes criticism very personally.
- Being backstabbed. This is a given, but she takes it harder than the average individual does. It shakes her as she doesn't know who to trust anymore, and typically shuts off to everyone else for weeks.
Fears:
- Red-scaled dragons. They remind her of the rogue who killed her parents.
- Being hated by those she's close to. She is especially terrified of this, as it means she will have no one to talk to, and that will make her go crazy.


Origin, Culture, and Family


Place of Origin: The Iceilo Region
Tribe: Kaamil
Position: Formerly Morai; however, she decided to drop her warrior life in favour of pursuing a more pacifist one; as such, she became Huin.
Language: She is fluent Kenarun and Universal. Yes, I know Universal is known mostly by high rankers in Kaamil, but she existed before the current leader took the throne, you know.
Home: Where the Kaamil are??
Parents: Dead.
Siblings: Artemise was the only child that her parents had.
Relatives: She doesn't know of any.
Mate: N/A (Forever alone, lol)
Offspring: N/A
History: Pretty uneventful, really. Artemise led a normal life until she was 10, when an accident occurred that resulted in her parents' deaths. A band of rogues had come to challenge them for the den, which they wanted, and her parents, outnumbered, lost, and Artemise managed to escape only because the rogues couldn't care less about her.

Length: 110 ft.
Wingspan: 220 ft.
Scale/Fur/Feathers: Diamond-shaped scales that are sky blue in colour. They interlock so well that they're invisible unless one looks at it really closely.

Abilities and Strengths


Abilities:
- Frostbreath
She can breathe out a whitish-blue mist that reaches 0C. It covers a range of 200 feet and causes mild discomfort to normal dragons, because... It's cold?
- Ice shards manipulation
Artemise can control sharp daggers/shards of ice without touching them, moving them around with just a thought. She also can use ice or snow (floating them from their original places) to form an object, like a tiny statue. Nothing much to say, really.
Strengths:
- Skilled at aerial combat and hunting.
- Knows how to fend for herself.
Weaknesses:
- She has a hot temper, and often lets her anger control her actions.
- Her scales have no resistance against fire. After consistent exposure to fire for one post, her scales will melt into liquid slush, and her tender pink skin will be exposed. Or if they dry and reform on wrong parts of her body, it makes her uncomfortable as well. She will need a week to regrow her scales, which will push off the melted scales, if there are any.
- Bad balance. She might be able to fly well, but a single bump against her can cause her to lose balance and even plummet to the ground. As for being on the ground, Artemise has her claws firmly stuck into the ground, so she isn't that easy to knock down. But making her stand on unsteady places will also be a disadvantage for her.
Fighting Style: Artemise moves surprisingly quickly for a dragoness her size, but is even faster in combat. She will repeatedly strike at the opponent if it's hand-to-hand combat, aiming to disable first then kill as cleanly as possible. She has good reflexes, enabling her to react to most attacks in time, and her deadly accuracy allows her to hit her target 99% of the time. She is also able to adapt to the opponent and change her fighting style if necessary, and can even imitate others' fighting styles and make them her own if she wants to, making her a tough opponent to defeat. Usually she prefers long ranged attacks and ambushes to weaken her enemy, before going in for the kill. Artemise does play dirty in a fight; she does all she can to win.
Magic:
- Creation
Artemise can also conjure up objects made up of ice or snow, such as:

~ Ice Armour
» The ice armour has the exact properties as normal armour, with the same resistance against elemental and physical attacks, but it is cold, providing the ice dragon wearer with more comfort. She can conjure up any shape, size and design of this ice armour. It is, however, easily melted by consistent exposure to fire for more than three posts.
- Mini ice sculpture (maximum height: 10 feet tall)
- An ice shard
- An ice sword

- Ice daggers/knives

In order to conjure up something, Artemise has to picture the thing she wants to conjure up, and then focus on bringing it into existence. If she succeeds, the object will materialise in front of her, at eye level, and drop to the ground. If she fails, nothing happens. She can also conjure up snow leopards. But in the case of the snow leopards, she can't just picture it in her mind. She has to carry out a series of steps. Artemise has to draw the snow leopards on the ground/any solid surface, then she will have to determine the skill of the leopard (if she wants to), by drawing snowflake(s) onto a certain part of the snow leopard's body. (Note that the snowflake that is used to determine the skill must be drawn by Artemise.) Example, if snowflakes were to land on all four of the snow leopard's paws, the snow leopard would be able to run quickly. A normal snow leopard will run at a maximum speed of 55MPH, but one with snowflakes on their paws will run at a speed of 50-70MPH, depending on a few things:

- The amount of energy it still has. If the snow leopard has been running for quite a while [4 posts minimum], of course it will be running at a slower speed.

- The wind, and where it's blowing. If the wind is blowing against the snow leopard, its speed will be slowed to 45MPH, but if the wind is blowing in the direction the snow leopard is heading, it will have a little boost and can run 1-5MPH faster, depending on how strong the wind is.

- What it's carrying. If the snow leopard is carrying something light, its speed will not be affected, but if it's something heavy [at least 5kg], its speed will decrease by 5MPH or more, depending on the item's weight.

- Wounds. If it has suffered numerous wounds, it would be weak and run slower.

If Artemise doesn't want the snow leopard to have any particular skill, she can just jump to the last step, and that is to freeze the drawing of the snow leopard with her frostbreath. Any normal dragon can do that, you say, but the snow leopard will come alive only if Artemise's frostbreath is used. Other frostbreath from other dragons will not affect the drawing. When the snow leopard comes to life, a fuzzy image will appear above the drawing, and as the fuzzy image becomes clearer, the drawing slowly vanishes.

All snow leopards conjured by Artemise are completely loyal to her, and they can communicate mentally with her, unless one of them is asleep, blocked by some kind of magic, or is too far away from each other (300 feet is the cut-off point; any more than 300 feet and the mental communication will not work).

There is a way to differentiate between a normal snow leopard and one made by Artemise. The normal snow leopard has a fur that is any colour but pure white - Artemise's snow leopards have pure white fur and black markings (the markings are similar to the normal snow leopard's), and brilliant blue eyes. Her snow leopards have slightly thicker fur as well, with sharper claws and a leaner body, almost resembling a cheetah's. But they still can't do much damage against dragons, so Artemise uses them mainly to carry letters.

A few abilities of empowered snow leopards:

- Faster speed (snowflakes on paws)
- Better eyesight (snowflakes on eyes); it will be able to see things that are at least 50 feet away and report it to her
- Slightly sharper claws/fangs (snowflakes on fangs/claws); the snow leopard will be able to leave a deep scratch on dragons' scales, which it will not be able to do typically.
- Better balance, self-explanatory (snowflakes on tail)
- Keener sense of smell (snowflakes on nose); the snow leopard will be able smell things that are 300 feet away.

Note that her snow leopards can only have a maximum of three abilities at one time. She can conjure up 5 five snow leopards at one time. It takes 30 seconds for the entire process of drawing and stuff, excluding the snow leopards as they literally just fade into existence very fast. She can only summon five per ten minutes, so let's just say all five die within this period of time. She can't draw any more until ten minutes have passed. They're magical so they don't need food, water or anything. They die only when they've reached the maximum age, or when they're killed.

EDIT: Done. Changes were rewording of a lot of things, a new frostbreath ability to replace something I don't want anymore, and some changing of details of her magic.

Bump:

1. She can do it anytime she wants, but seriously, if she's being chased, I don't think she has time to "oh, let's sketch out a little leopard... ha ha..."
2. Takes 30 seconds for the entire "ritual," she's drawn leopards enough time not to take too long, plus she doesn't need to be too detailed, only get the vague shape out.
3. They pop into existence in a few seconds, 30 is for all the drawing and frostbreath and stuff.
4. She can only summon five per ten minutes, so let's just say all five die within this period of time. She can't draw any more until ten minutes have passed.
5. They're magical so they don't need food, water or anything. They die only when they've reached the maximum age, or when they're killed.
